"Wait here" the Guard stationed in front of the Alpha King's home office gruffly told her as he went into the office to inform him that the woman he had summoned was here.
As Allegra sat in the luxurious waiting room, she was occupied taking in the grandeur of her environment. From the moment she stepped onto the grounds of the royal villa, she has been in awe, c'est magnifique! As the French would say¸ the Alpha King was loaded. Well, it wasn't technically his money, but the country's, so everything here belongs to he as well. With that in mind she stood up and began exploring more of the rather large waiting room.
When she was admiring the huge oriental golden vase that stood twice her size in a corner of the room, the door of the office opened and the gruff, burly werewolf guard that earlier told her to stay put, came out and ushered her in.
She swallowed, it was finally time to face the Alpha King and know why she was summoned. She hoped that the reasons her mother said women were called to the royal villa, that seemed entirely frightening and that she still wasn't told, would be far from why she is actually here. Maybe, and hopefully, he just summoned her to come apologize. Yes, that should be it, she can definitely do an apology.
"I said you can go in now, are you deaf or something?" the burly guard asked her in that gruff irritated voice, like he really would rather be doing anything now than dealing with her here.
Well, same here, gruffy.
"Obviously, I am not, dumbo" she said, lowly.
"What did you say, human?" Gruffy asked her, as he stepped closer, his face looking even more annoyed and irritated with her presence, if that was possible.
"Nothing. Lead the way" she told him plastering her sweetest faux smile on her face.
Gruffy, the werewolf guard, led her through the door, which didn't open directly to the Alpha King's office as she thought, rather it opened to a narrow passage that led down to another door at the very end. The passage was not long, no not really, but the seconds they used to walk through the rather brightly lit narrow passage, was enough for her to reflect on the past three days of her life, from when she bumped into the Alpha King at the diner to this very hour. A lot has changed, and not much has changed at the same time. She was still the same Allegra Hunch, everything was still the same really, in some sense, just that now everyone knows her as the girl dumb enough to insult the Alpha King. No one even considers her as slightly brave for standing up for herself before an asshole; because that asshole just happens to be the Alpha King. The unforgiving, ruthless, beastly Alpha King.
Some nice neighbors even came up to her parents bearing nice gifts as they sought to offer their condolences concerning their daughter. She was particularly enraged by such visitors despite all their good wishes, she was not dead for crying out loud. She was merely summoned by the beastly Alpha King.
She just hoped to get this over and done with quickly, if needs be she would not mind groveling before the Alpha King, just to beg for her forgiveness and get back to her life. Her life has turned in such a short time all because of an other wisely trivial encounter. She has loads of school work to get back to, she even missed school today and would probably miss work all because of this; it is a blessing Karen didn't fire her after what happened on Friday.
As they got to the door, Gruffy opened it and went in ahead of her to announce her presence to the Alpha King. Nerves overcame her suddenly as Gruffy shut the door behind her, leaving her all alone with the Alpha King in his rather dark home office, which she would have expected to be bigger and brighter, judging from the structure of the rest of the house.
When she had stood there for some minutes and he was yet to turn his chair around to face her rather than the wall behind his desk, she rushed into speech.
"Alpha King, I am so very extremely sorry about the way I spoke to you and the way I drenched your shirt the other day. I apologize for my clumsiness, I promise I am not always like that, really. And I mean this from my heart, I am very sorry, I would kneel down and beg you, if you'd rather I do that" she poured out her rehearsed apology, ready to be done with it already. Truly, she felt he should be rendering an apology as well, he was the one who stood in her way, though admittedly she should have had her eyes on the path in front of her and not just the tray in her hands. Pish posh, still he should make an apology of some sort for the way he spoke to her, but of course because he is the Alpha King, nobody expects such from him. That the Alpha King should apologize to a little nobody like her? No, it is unheard of.
"Despite how much I would love to see you do that, kneeling is unnecessary" the Alpha King said, finally turning around to face her. His sinfully handsomeness nearly made her forget how to breath then she remembered that he is an asshole, and she just might be about to get punished. But still, she could not stop herself from admiring his perfect form, it was just sad that all this outward male beauty houses an asshole personality.
The Alpha King was dressed in a black suit and black shirt, with more than two of the top buttons of his shirt open revealing some nice hard chest with speckles of fine dark hair and some ink like swirls, wait, what? The Alpha King has tattoos, how cool!
"Hmm" the Alpha King cleared his throat bringing her eyes back to his. She smiled sheepishly as she caught herself and looked away from his chest and the peeking tattoos, expecting to see a smug look on his face at the way she was caught perusing his form, she was rather let down and surprised to see that he just wore a tired, cool expression. It seems everyone here found her presence tiring, from the guards outside, to the aged housekeeper lady, to Gruffy outside, and now to him.
Deciding to get back to why she is here and speed up this, whatever this is, she spoke up. "Alright then, Alpha King, why don't you get to the whole 'I forgive you, you have been given a royal pardon, Allegra, now go out there and be a good law-abiding citizen of Helsin' part, and I would be out of your hair this instant, eh?" she suggested with a smile, that she hoped looked adorable and persuasive.
"You think that's why you are here? To beg for forgiveness and I would just smile and forgive you and you would be on your nice little way to go do the inconsequential things you do with your time?" he sneered, then laughed mockingly.
Allegra really did hope that she was here to render a formal apology and be done with it, but now she realized how childish that had been. Of course, he wouldn't waste his time and that expensive scroll paper just to tell her to come all the way to the royal villa and render a common apology. An apology from her wouldn't even mean anything to him, surely. Oh boy, she has been such a fool. She could be in some much trouble and she had come so easily, so stupidly like a lamb to the slaughter.
Her mother didn't go into details on the two reasons why women would ever be summoned by the Alpha King to the royal villa, however, Allegra had her own ideas and hoped, and prayed it wasn't what she was thinking.
The Alpha King laughed in a cold, low, scary, sinister way as he saw the fear creep onto her face as she pieced things together. Leaning back in his expensive leather chair, he said to her, "It seems now you realize why you are here, waitress. Take a seat"
Allegra gulped, Oh Lord
