It has been six weeks since Allegra had begun living at the royal villa and working as the personal cook of the Alpha King. Her work in itself wasn't exactly over tasking as she already loved cooking and only had to prepare the special dish of pot pouiree for him, though now preparation of other dishes and his daily meals have been added to her job description as he had come to prefer her culinary skills to that of the house chef.
What had been the tasking part for her had been not the job, but rather the sudden change in her normal life routine and the commute to school for classes from here; she has missed many classes already because of the distance, and the fact that she can leave for school only after she has prepared and served him his breakfast. Her relations with her family and her friends had been maintained, now she is more of a 'call you later' person as she has been denied the luxury of hanging around after classes to chat with her friends, as she often finds herself running home in order to arrive the villa in time to prepare the Alpha King's meal.
So far, she has adjusted well to her new life, gotten to know others who walked around the villa, even though not all of them liked her being as she is the only human working directly with the Alpha; whose name just so happened to be Seviun.
Now, as she stared at her school books, trying and failing to understand the words of the chapter she had to read to prepare for her test tomorrow, she wondered once again if she was going to have to repeat her final year. In the month and couple of weeks she had worked and lived here, she had begun slacking in school, scoring less than her usual decently high grades on her tests, due to her missing lots of classes and being behind in her notes and studies. The two friends she did have at the university were not offering the same major as she and their classes schedule barely ever coincided leaving her entirely on her own with no one to obtain lecture notes from.
As she decided to give the page she was on one more try, and began from the first word all over again, she heard a knock on her door. Then another.
"Yes? Who is there?" she called to whoever had come to disturb her private time, she was done with her chores for the day after all.
"The Alpha has called for you" the caller, who by reason of the familiarity of voice she presumed was Blake, one of the guards stationed in the hallway outside her room.
"Why?" she asked forgetting where she was for a second and who was calling for her. In this household, when the Alpha King calls for you don't question it, you just go and answer his call. The same rule applies for the entire werewolf country of Helsin, basically.
The guard outside her door, Blake, didn't answer her dumb question, rather she just said, "Now" and walked away from the door.
Allegra groaned as she had to leave her study for now, though she was yet to get even a full sentence down. And what could the Alpha King, or rather, Seviun; as she preferred to call him in her inner monologues these days, want from her at this time of the night? She had already completed her duties for the day.

"Hi, you called for me?" she said as she knocked on the door of the bedroom of the Alpha King, which is where she expected to him by this time of the day. He usually retires to his room by ten and now it is way past eleven pm. She knocked again, but still no response.
