Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Sharing A Drink

Momo had fallen asleep. Peaceful snores could be heard from behind the closed door. As for Natasha, she soon found herself in front of Tony's personal bar. This was the same floor that housed the bar.

"I really could go for a drink right now.", Natasha uttered, sighing. She took a moment to recall the conversation she had with Momo. She wasn't exactly sure how that would play out, but contrary to her expectations of what aliens could turn out to be, Momo acted prim and proper. Almost as if how a princess should actually behave. Not some sort of violent being who refused to listen to whatever a person had to say.

So Natasha responded in kind, treating Momo with respect. Natasha even wondered if she used the right tone of voice there. She learned that one of those three girls was a princess of a planet she didn't know that existed. A third princess even. Meaning that place had two other princesses at the very least. It wasn't hard to connect the dots, especially seeing that they all had the same type of hair.

On top of that, Natasha learned of Momo's name, as well as the name of the man who saved Tony.

"So it's Baki, I take it.", Natasha uttered to herself. "And why is it that an alien knows how to speak Japanese? There's still so much missing from the bigger picture.", Natasha continued.

Seeing that she was alone now, Natasha sighed once more.

"You're still there, aren't you, Jarvis? I know I said to stay away from my privacy, but you can at least still make drinks, right?", Natasha questioned.

"I'm always here, Miss Natasha. Do you have a particular drink you fancy?", Jarvis responded. As the AI said that, Natasha heard a whirling noise reach her ears nearby. Toward the counter, to be specific. A long, mechanical arm sprouted up from nowhere. It pinched its claws, as if welcoming Natasha.

"I don't care what it is. Just something strong. Enough to knock me out the rest of the day. Once that conversation led to space travel, it already started to rise above my pay grade. I'm still struggling to recognize the fact that aliens EXIST.", Natasha retorted.

"Coming right up.", Jarvis responded.

"Long day, I take it?", A familiar voice said to Natasha while Natasha observed the drink being made before her. The sound of thrusters humming quickly reached her ears, only to see a figure rapidly fly in from a nearby entrance. After landing, a giant mechanism appeared in the shape of a circle, and began dismantling the red-armored suit the man was wearing. Being both surprised and disinterested, Natasha didn't have the energy to turn her head to greet the man.

"Boy you can say that again. How can you take things so easily, Tony?", Natasha asked, observing Tony for a moment.

"I go with the flow a lot. And I mean, A LOT. I always knew the universe was a big and vast place. It shouldn't come a surprise that aliens exist. It's just, they came to us first. And not in the most friendliest of ways. We still won. And that's what matters most.", Tony answered, only to look at the arm Jarvis was presently operating. "Hit me up with one too. I had an equally long day of explaining stuff back at Stark Industries. You've had the easy part of just chilling here.", Tony said, looking back at the red-headed woman next to him. He took a seat beside her.

"So, our man of the hour is named Baki, huh? Sounds like a name you'd hear from our planet. I was expecting a crazy name. More toward the line of that Momo girl. Give me a rundown again, would you?", Tony questioned.

"Momo Belia Deviluke. Hails from a planet called Planet Deviluke. It isn't hard putting two and two together. She holds the same name as her goddamn planet.", Natasha responded. Seeing her drink now in front of her, she took a big gulp of it one go, before slamming back onto the counter.

"Easy there tiger.", Tony retorted, seeing Natasha becoming more annoyed with each passing moment. "I take it this girl really is a princess. You think we should start addressing her as Your Highness or something? Hate to say it but displaying mannerisms in front of alien royalty is not exactly, my forte.", Tony questioned.

"Your guess is as good as mine. At the very least, can you figure out why in god's name this princess can speak Japanese?", Natasha asked. As she said that, she finished her drink, signaling Jarvis to make her a second one. What was underway, Natasha looked back at Tony with an expectant look in her eyes.

"You make a good point there, actually. Finding out where their planet was situated and what you just brought up were the first things I looked into. Jarvis came up empty. Planet Deviluke either doesn't exist, or was destroyed somehow. As for the latter, I had Jarvis map this Baki fellow's chemical make-up to us humans. It's scary how identical this guy is. But he arrived in outer space through a rift. Something doesn't add up here."

"So let me give you some homework.", Tony continued, taking a few sips of his own drink. Placing it back down, he continued to speak. "What's your opinion of the Multiverse?", Tony asked, catching Natasha off-guard.

"We're seriously going that route? The Multiverse doesn't exist.", Natasha immediately retorted.

"I used to think so too. It's a concept that's out of reach of our current time period. But then, it got me questioning seeing how scarily identical this Baki person is to us. I can't think of any other option at play here, toots. If the answer isn't the Multiverse, then I'm all ears.", Tony said.

"Still a fool's play in my opinion. But sounds like you've got a long road ahead of you to prove whether this is where its leading. I almost feel sorry for you. Oh how the tables have turned~", Natasha retorted, only to enjoy her second drink, sloshing it around in her glass. She realized that compared to what Tony has to look into, her position was much more laid back. All the Black Widow had to do was look after Baki and his group for the time being. All her expenses were covered too, so it really was just like having a vacation.

"Does that really matter? I almost got killed out there. Just having you here has liven things up greatly for me. As do our guests. They've been a nice distraction. How many near-death experiences have you encountered?", Tony asked, wondering. Unlike him, the Black Widow was a trained assassin. Her eyes raised upward hearing that.

"Too many to count. I haven't had a chance to kick back and truly relax like this in quite a while. You might find your liquor reserves rapidly depleting depending on how long I have to stay here, haha!", Natasha responded, letting out a rare laugh.

"You seriously can forget those experiences just like that? Now I wish I were in your boots.", Tony said, taking a moment to gulp the rest of his drink down in one go.

"It comes with the experience. You start growing numb to them once you experience a certain number. Anyways, that Momo girl passed out from exhaustion. Baki and the oldest sibling of the three also experienced similar behavior to passing out. Or at least, I'm assuming that girl is the oldest, and that they are siblings. They don't show any signs of waking up anytime soon. I might go hit up a gym or something. Maybe stroll the streets and find some good spots to hang around at. I can't just stick around here twenty-four seven.", Natasha said, wondering how things will go from here.

In reality, it was the truth that Natasha was now on a fully paid vacation period at Shield's expense. She couldn't recall the last time she could truly relax like this. She had almost forgotten how a normal human lives due to the number of missions she has been on lately.

"Oh I think I can give you a few good spots. It is true that most of us have already went our separate ways, for now. Thor took Loki back to Asgard. Hawkeye returned to Shield so you'll likely get an update from him soon. And Cap returned to Queens. Bruce walked off the radar again. You're here for the time being. And as for me...", Tony said, drawing Natasha's interest.

"What are you up to this time?", Natasha asked, wondering.

"I've got a date night tonight with someone who will for sure give me an earful if I don't make it on time. Pepper and I kind of having something going on now, if you can catch my drift. Not sure if it will lead into something greater.", Tony responded.

"So you two are an item, huh? I'll make sure to stay out of your way. My main interest is our guests here, anyways. I've zero interest in you.", Natasha coolly said.

"Ouch, but acceptable. Don't go consuming all my liquor in one go, alright? I'll head up a floor. I'm just an ear away.", Tony said, before he excused himself. Natasha was alone again, figuring out what to do next.

For once in her life, Natasha had a free schedule. The Avengers have already went their separate ways right after the Chitauri Invasion came to a close. They were exposed to the world, and the world was now reacting to how much of a danger these superhumans would pose to them. Not only that, Planet Earth learned that it was indeed, not alone in that wide cosmos. They were just at the tip of the iceberg, as one would say. Director Fury was already having enough trouble trying to figure out what to do from here on, as aliens were very much, real. He needed some way to protect Planet Earth from harm.

Natasha knew that, so she knew she shouldn't butt into Shield's affairs too much for the time being. She was truly free. At least free enough until the next movie takes place, the Age of Ultron.

Taking another look at the closed guest room, she hopped down from the bar stool.

"Thanks J. I won't head out for tonight. Can you run a bath instead? The previous one you prepared was quite enjoyable. I could use another soak.", Natasha requested.

"Always a pleasure to be of service, Miss Natasha. If our guests show any sign of waking up, I will inform you.", Jarvis responded.

"Understood.", Natasha said with a nod of her head. She decided to stick back and relax for the evening. It was May 5th, nighttime. Most of the events of today have already finished, which included the parting of the Avengers. They might be separated now, but they were just a call away from regrouping again. At least for those who remained on Planet Earth.

Thor took Loki to Asgard, and would become quite busy for the time being.

Returning to her normal devices, Natasha just called it quits for the night while enjoying some take-out delivery. It was funny to see the reaction of the delivery worker of coming all the way up to the 91st floor of Stark Tower. Which by the way, only had A remaining. The other letters were busted and completely torn. It would take some time, but the remodeling of Stark Tower would eventually become Avengers Tower.

It's just that at this time Natasha didn't know that Baki would be fully asleep for an entire six days from here on. Before she realized it while she was enjoying some time off, one day turned into two days. Two days turned into three. Aura's timer was ticking with each passing moment, completing its soul binding to Baki and Lala. Momo would wake up occasionally during this time and share a meal with Natasha, but that was the extend of their interactions. They mostly shared light conversation. Momo knew to keep things under wrap until Baki and her sisters woke up. Nana was much more out of it than Momo was and didn't even show signs of waking up yet.

Before everyone realized it, Baki's timer for his system had finally struck 00:00, causing his mind to stir awake again.

[Soul-binding of the RDX-69 system has been completed. Welcome back to the world of the living, Master.] Aura said, greeting me.
