"Besides, you're just telling everyone the truth.
Whether they want to join the war or not, they can decide for themselves. You don't need to make that decision for them.
Since we're going to die sooner or later anyway, wouldn't it be better to go out with a bang and have no regrets?
Also, don't forget to spread the word about the PN soldiers' crimes. Don't let people stay in the dark.
That way, even those who don't want to fight can at least find their own way to survive. That's better than waiting to die in the city.
Even in the worst-case scenario, if the city really falls, at least the people will know the truth about the PN and won't be fooled.
If you kill one, that's breaking even. Kill two, and you've made a profit." Actually, Paige wasn't entirely sure of the full situation.
She had figured it out by eavesdropping on the soldiers and making her own deductions.
If the soldiers knew, the commanders probably knew even more.
Letting them mobilize the people to join the army themselves was the most suitable plan.
As for Paige herself, she wanted to see the so-called PN for herself and check out the frontline situation.
After she finished speaking, Paige left. The commanders watched her walk out, then chased after her, but she was already gone.
"Someone that capable, no wonder our patrol soldiers couldn't spot her."
"Alright then, everyone, let's share our thoughts. Do you think her plan is doable?"
"I don't think it is. Our food and weapons are limited. We could have lasted another half month.
But if we recruit new soldiers and they waste resources, who knows how long we can hold on?"
"I think it's doable. Like she said, we're going to die sooner or later, so why not fight before we do?
If we run out of guns, we still have knives. Fight hard, and even if we die, we should take a chunk out of them."
"I think there's one thing she said that's definitely right, we should let people know about the PN's crimes.
Whether they join the army or not is up to them.
The higher-ups have probably already given up on us. While we can still hold on, let people know what's happening. Let them find their own way to survive.
As for the public's morale, it's already in chaos."
Everyone had strong opinions. Some agreed, some disagreed.
Paige didn't care anymore. She had shared her idea, whether they listened or not was up to them.
If it didn't work out, she could just take Winn and the others to live in another city, though that would be hard on the people still in this one.
Even though the ones outside weren't zombies and wouldn't eat people, becoming prisoners wasn't much better. How they would be treated depended entirely on whether the victors had any conscience.
Paige ran out of the city in one breath, crouching low as she arrived at the frontline between the two armies.
It was clear both sides were currently locked in a stalemate.
However, the enemy would soon receive reinforcements, while their own troops were only putting up a desperate resistance.
Especially after Paige walked through the armory, clicking her tongue — there weren't many heavy weapons left.
Now that she knew their situation, it was time to find out what the enemy had.
Apparently, the PN side was also afraid of dying, only daring to shoot from a distance.
That revealed one thing — they had plenty of ammo and weapons.
To Paige, this was good news, because soon, those weapons would change hands.
She had stirred up the commanders to recruit soldiers, and naturally, she planned to provide them with ammo.
She didn't say it openly because they needed to have the courage to fight with their backs to the wall.
Besides, she wasn't obligated to help.
If their approach didn't meet her expectations, she'd just take the weapons and ammo and go live somewhere else.
She followed the battle line all the way to the enemy's rear. Looking at the crates of weapons, the little voices in Paige's head screamed, "Take them, take them."
Since everyone agreed, Paige gladly accepted it.
One warehouse after another, Paige was extremely happy.
She didn't want to leave anything behind, just clearing everything out was enough.
If she left even one bullet behind, she considered it a failure.
Paige combined her mental power with her space ability. As long as her mental power swept through an area, she could collect everything directly without touching it.
After clearing out the PN soldiers' warehouse, Paige let out a satisfied burp. She felt truly relaxed and happy.
Paige passed by the squad of PN soldiers that were carrying supplies to the warehouse. Clearing out this base wasn't enough for her, she was going to the next one.
"Baka, jili guala, wawa ka."
Paige ignored the noisy voices behind her, waved her sleeve, and didn't take even a cloud with her.
Without any more bullet supplies, the PN soldiers had to stop their attack. This gave the defending taxi soldiers a chance to catch their breath.
Even though they didn't know why the enemy suddenly stopped attacking, it was a good thing for them.
Half the people stayed on alert while the other half rested quickly.
The PN soldiers were definitely planning something big. Stopping the attack now must be a surprise move.
PN soldiers: Not really, it's just that our ammo warehouse got stolen.
Paige walked a full circle around the city wall and successfully emptied all the PN soldiers' ammo warehouses.
For a moment, everything outside the city was unusually quiet.
Except for the nonstop phone calls in the PN camps, everyone reported with a voice that sounded like they'd seen a ghost.
Their already irritated mood was now mixed with fear.
After being busy all day, Paige returned to the hotel. It was already evening.
She knocked on the hotel door. The one who opened it was the same worker who had served during the day.
"Oh, young lady, you're back." The worker greeted her warmly.
"Is there still food?" Paige asked.
After running around all day, eating outside wasn't convenient. She could only chew on some dry rations.
"Yes, yes, though there's nothing fancy. Just some simple stir-fried dishes, is that okay?" The worker picked up the cloth on his shoulder and wiped the table and chair clean for Paige to sit.
The head chef had already gone home. Only one night shift cook remained, in case of situations like this.
"Anything is fine, as long as it's hot. Make sure there's plenty of meat, fresh or cured." Paige instructed.
"Alright, just wait a bit. I'll go tell them to start cooking." The worker ran to the kitchen, and soon it was busy inside.
"Young lady, have some pastries to hold you over. The food will be ready soon." A waiter brought a plate of pastries and placed them in front of Paige.
"Thanks." Paige drank several cups of tea before slowly picking up a piece of pastry to eat.
She wasn't really interested in the snacks. She just wanted a hot meal.
Luckily, she didn't have to wait long. The hot dishes started arriving one after another.
Paige tossed the pastries aside and began eating in big bites.
Ouch, a bit hot, but still manageable.
After she was full, Paige put down two five-dollar coins and said to the waiter, "This is for you and the cook. Also, get me another room."
She had "seen" that Winn and the others were already asleep, so she didn't want to disturb them. Whatever needed to be discussed could wait until morning.
"Thank you, young lady, thank you. Please follow me, I'll take you to a quieter room so you can have a good night's sleep.
Do you need water for a bath? We also provide bathtubs."
"No." Just thinking about soaking in a tub others had used, Paige declined.
