Some days passed and I reached my conclusion. My current objectives were:
-Investigating Frisk and Gaster.
-getting stronger.
-Confirm the existence of 'the player' and find a way to deal with them.
I had thought of ways to achieve these goals, but the majority of my approaches left one of them in the dark. I had thought that I couldn't accomplish all three of them at the same time until this morning came.
As I woke up, I ate breakfast with the other kids at the orphanage, then Lyanna (our caretaker and a cat-like monster) asked me to help her with some chores. She often did this because I was the more mature of the bunch.
I already assessed my situation as I reminisced about my past life. This new world was beautiful and it was welcoming, a lot more than my original world. But at the same time this world was a lot more dangerous.
These past weeks I've been thinking a lot about if this world is a game or not. But as the days passed, I realized that it was a meaningless question. The people were real, they had feelings, objectives, hopes and dreams, and as long as they had that, they would be real to me.
Still thinking about my goals, I added a fourth one. I already knew that I would live a lot of years on this new world, I would create new connections, new friendships and even find happiness. But I still longed for my home. The day when my final goal is accomplished, I want to someday return to what was my home.
4th goal:
-Find a way back home.
Lyanna seemed to notice my sour mood as she asked me what happened.
"Nothing, I was just nostalgic for a bit".
"Edgy and with a tragic backstory! You would be a fantastic anime mc".
"You're really on your 20s?".
We kept chatting like this some time, now that I think about it, the first day I arrived at the orphanage I really wasn't in the mood, but in just a matter of weeks she had already broken the ice.
She was really optimistic and bright, I was grateful for her silliness on moments like this.
"Anyways Zen, have you already heard of the New Gen Academy".
"What's that?".
"It's a new academy between humans and monsters made to develop the most capable people in the world".
It immediately piqued my interest as she told me that the first year of the project had already started. Looking at my phone I investigated the project.
The academy was directed by both humans and monsters, there people learned like any other schools and got stronger by learning about magic and fighting methods, the training was rigorous, and the students were expected to be the best of the best.
This was a golden chance, the academy was a pure meritocracy and to enter I just had to get better marks at the practical and theoretical exams. My heart rate increased as I read the next lines at the post.
[It's announced that the monster's ambassador will take part in the exams]
[Amazing staff! The scientific genius Alphys will teach students about her knowledge]
[Renowned human mages and warriors are already sending their offspring to the academy]
That was my conclusion, I had to enter the academy no matter what, it would help me achieve my three goals simultaneously, I couldn't let this chance slip that easily.
"Lyanna, do you think I have a chance at entering the academy?".
"Pfff!, I'm sure you're a complete pusho-". But when she saw the expression I was making she stopped.
"Are you being for real? ". I started to laugh like a madman, but I didn't care, this was a perfect setting for me, it seemed that God still hasn't abandoned me.
"Stop laughing like that you weirdo!".

Six months after I got transported to this world I found myself training and studying a lot.
Monsters were one with magic, as they were made of it. As such compared to humans, monsters magic were a lot more mind-bending and insane. But I was originally a human, that proved to be a big disadvantage for me as I had to adapt being a monster and learn to use magic.
The first months were grueling, as the only one who could teach me magic was a human, that was due to monsters naturally using magic like breathing, after all, no one teaches you how to breathe. Also I had to study a lot, I had to learn magic theories and other shenanigans that weren't present in my world. But luckily, I'm quite smart so that wasn't the biggest problem.
Sparring with Lyanna I learned to use twin blades as weapons. Also, I tested my newly acquired magic with her.
"C'mon show me what you've got!".
'Focus', I closed my eyes. I felt my very soul emanating a constant pulse, it wasn't my heart, it was my own magic radiating all around my body. Controlling the flow, I extended my hand. As energy collided with itself my feelings molded the form of my attack. Then I remembered, I remembered the fire where I lost my parents on Earth, that painful memory became cozy as the fire of that day resonated within me.
My fireball flew towards Lyanna as she prepared to dodge it, but it still was unstable and by the time it reached her its size was laughable.
"That was actually impressive, good job!". Lyanna complimented me as I tried again.

A year and a half passed since I arrived to this world and our prince was back.
Let me explain, somehow Asriel Dreemurr had cured from his presumed 'sickness' and finally made an appearance online. Monsterkind now is going to celebrate Asriel's return at Newest Home the next month.
Having knowledge about who really Asriel is made me realize the situation was quite fishy. But he really was back and there's already plenty of photos of him at the internet.
I was quite conflicted whether to assist to the event or not, after all I still didn't fully know how to portray myself to Frisk. Also, I was absurdly similar to Asriel, that would ensure me getting Frisk's interest, something that I wouldn't want.
But still, now that Asriel is here the situation has changed drastically. He can remember resets so he would be Frisk's right-hand man and her biggest counter at the same time. So I finally decided to assist.
That night I spent it fantasizing about different scenarios.
