Chapter 25 - Chapter 26.

He stood up, patted the hem of his coat, and smiled like a cunning fox, "Alright, since you've said so, then I'll go and take a look."

Two days later, the academy's large lecture hall was filled with many scholars and magicians, who were sitting around in the circular hall, and were passionately discussing theories about the magic system of the Abyss and the evolution of demons.

"The information we know suggests that the nature of demons is not simply chaos and evil, but a more complex flow of energy."An older magician pushed up his glasses and spoke in a serious tone, "The source of their power may be related to the laws of the Abyss rather than mere negative emotions."

Another scholar shook his head and retorted, "But the laws of the Abyss itself are chaotic.Demons can't get rid of their own nature, and they will eventually be consumed by the Abyss."

"Then how do you explain those high-ranking demons that still maintain their sanity?"

"Perhaps they just haven't fallen for the time being."

"But if they can resist chaos, then the rules of the Abyss are not absolute ..."

Arguments rose and fell until a light voice interjected, "Wow, you humans have quite the imagination."

The crowd snapped to attention, turning back to the source of the voice.

At the entrance of the lecture hall, Nyx lazily leaned against the doorframe, smilingly scanning the magicians present. He was dressed in an elegant black robe, his crimson pupils flickered with a teasing light, and his delicate features were matched with that careless smile, making it momentarily unclear whether he was a demon or an angel who had mistakenly entered the mortal world.

The scholars suddenly quieted down, almost everyone's face showed surprise, vigilance, and even vaguely with a little bit of awe.

Nyx walked in slowly, his tone tinged with a bit of lethargy, ''Discussing the Abyss? Why don't you just ask the demons that came out of the abyss?"

For a moment, everyone held their breath.

Then, I don't know who gently coughed, and someone finally came back to their senses and carefully asked, "Are you ... Mentor Ellis' contracted demon?"

Nyx smiled and didn't deny it, "What?Aren't you all curious to know the 'nature' of demons?"

He walked to the center of the lecture hall and casually sat on the lectern, legs folded and one hand propped up on his chin, looking at the magicians in front of him with interest, "Since we're all being discussed, why don't you let me see how much 'true knowledge' you all really have?"

One of the more daring scholars tentatively asked, "So what do you think the laws of the Abyss are?"

Nyx laughed softly, his eyes obscure, "The Abyss has no laws."

The crowd froze.

Nyx slowly continued, "The abyss is chaotic, but it is also absolutely free.We are not swallowed by the Abyss, but we live in symbiosis with it."

"Then does the Abyss affect the nature of demons?"Another scholar asked cautiously.

Nyx shrugged, "That's like asking if a person would be affected by their upbringing."

He swept a glance at the magicians in the room and laughed softly, "Some people are born good, but experiences make them cold; some people are born evil, but certain accidents make them gentle. The same goes for demons."

He concluded in a light tone, "The Abyss affects demons, but it is he himself who ultimately decides what a demon is like."

A brief silence fell over the lecture hall.

Quite a few magicians discussed in low voices, some apparently began to rethink their perceptions about the Abyss, while others remained skeptical.

Seeing this, Nyx's mouth curled into a nasty smile, "But well ..."

He raised his finger, his fingertip ignited a wisp of black magic fire, the fire jumped around his fingertip, twisting and distorting like it was alive, his voice carried a hint of playfulness, "You humans always like to analyze us, but do you really understand us?"

His eyes swept over the scholars present one by one, and his tone suddenly became soft and dangerous, "If any of you would like to experience the 'essence' of the Abyss, I would be happy to do you a favor."

The air seemed to freeze for a moment.
