"You didn't go to the company?" Leng Pan asked after she was done with breakfast and moved to sit on the sofa in the living room.
Lu Zhen had followed her after cleaning the table and kitchen.
He sat next to her and pulled her onto his lap and started playing with her slender fingers.
Leng Pan was leaning on his broad chest and enjoying the security it gave her.
She had always been an independent woman and never relied on anyone, but for the first time, she wanted to rely on another person. And she was happy doing it.
It was amazing how close their relationship had become after only one night. There was no longer the feeling of tiptoeing around each other, or watching what to say for fear of offending the other person.
Now they felt closer than anyone else in the world.
"I can't let you do all the work to prepare for the apocalypse. Besides, if the world was ending, what use would the company be?
I would rather spend time with you buying supplies than waste it on something so insignificant." Lu Zhen replied.
"But what about your meetings and employees?" Leng Pan asked as she understood that he usually had a lot of work everyday, otherwise, the company wouldn't have grown so much in a short time after he took over.
"I gave them a red packet of hundred thousand yuan and three days off to celebrate our marriage. This way I have a reason to slack off at home and help them stock up on supplies before the apocalypse without raising any suspicions."
"You thought of everything, that's good. But aren't you supposed to be picking up mom and brother-in….little brother at the airport later?" She asked again as she sighed. She really couldn't bring herself to call a teenager brother-in-law. So she decided to treat him as her own younger brother.
Lu Zhen of course noticed this small detail but didn't fuss over it. She could call his brother whatever she wanted. As long as she was happy.
"I will have my assistant pick them up. Now, we have more important things to do. You talked about extreme heat and cold, torrential rain, typhoons and other disasters. Did you buy clothes that could protect us from these situations and other necessities?" Lu Zhen became serious once the topic of the apocalypse was mentioned.
"Yes, I bought enough clothes and shoes to last us a lifetime. Yesterday, I ordered more for mom and little brother. They will be delivered at my parent's villa this morning. I should go there now to receive them.
There are also other supplies arriving and I have to pick up food from Uncle Li's restaurant.
There are several other locations that are preparing orders of large quantities of cooked food. But I forgot to order sweets for dessert and snacks such as cakes, cookies, milk tea and others.
I was planning to go to various bakeries today to see if I could get a good stock of those to stockpile." Leng Pan explained her plans.
"Thank you for thinking about my family when it comes to something so important. As for the desserts and sweets, leave them to me. I will have them delivered to the Lu Group warehouse today. We can pick them up when we go to get the gasoline.
The weapons you asked for have also been availed. But because the issue of weapons is sensitive, we have to be discreet. They were left in an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs. Let's go get them tomorrow.
Right now, let's go get the things you ordered then go shopping together." Lu Zhen was indeed very happy that Leng Pan had included his family in her plans of surviving the apocalypse when buying supplies.

They drove the hummer out and went to the villa and happened to arrive at the same time as the clothes delivery men.
After everything was unloaded in the yard, she closed the gate and put everything in the space and waited for the next delivery.
At 11.00 am, almost everything had been delivered and she and Lu Zhen left the villa and drove to Uncle Li's restaurant.
Uncle Li had closed business for the day because he was busy preparing her order.
When he heard a car stop outside he walked out to send the customers away only to see the girl who ordered all that food yesterday get out of the car.
"Girl, it's good that you came, every corner of my restaurant is filled with cooked food and I am running out of space. You can take the ready order away as I prepare the re…" Uncle Li stopped mid-sentence as he looked at the person who had alighted from the car on the other side.
"What is a busy man like you doing in my humble shop?" He actually wanted to say something more sarcastic but didn't dare.
This nephew of his was hard to deal with when upset. Wasn't he breaking his back now cooking just to offset his mistake?
"I came to pick up my wife's order. Why? Is something wrong?" Lu Zhen replied.
"Of course, nothing is wrong. You can pick your wife's ord….wait, what did you say? Who is this girl?" With a slightly raised voice, Uncle Li lost the demeanor of an educated and sophisticated elder completely.
"My wife. Is something wrong?" Lu Zhen replied with so much pride that even Leng Pan wanted to give him a beating.
"Wait, that's not right, when did you get married? I clearly sent that…" He stopped what he was about to say when he saw the vicious look his nephew was giving him and realized that he had almost run his mouth and messed up again.
