Chapter 17 - Chapter 17:PRESS

[Next day]

As per Taro's stunt yesterday, one could easily expect the PR nightmare that would ensue the following day.

Aizawa groaned outwardly who looked out from the teacher's lounge, seeing the swarm of paparazzi just out the gates of UA, some of them waiting patiently for the school to address the issue while others tried to get something from any of the students who tried to enter the school.

If it wasn't for the elite security of the school, none of the students would be able to enter. He could feel his distaste for the press being exercabated.

"Well Aizawa, it seems you've got a troublemaker in your class, I can only imagine the future headache"

One of Aizawa's colleagues voiced their opinion and chuckled as he did so; the man had ash white hair, he was well built and buff, wearing a red form-fitting hero costume with white boots and white arm bracers, he had a darkish yellow mask over his face leaving only his mouth visible.

The man's hero name was Sekijiro Kan, and his hero name was Vlad King, but he was usually referred to as Vlad by most of his colleagues

Hearing the man's words, Aizawa couldn't help but groan a second time, and Vlad couldn't help but chuckle once more.

"Well at least he's eager, although I don't know if what he did was grounds for expulsion or not"

Aizawa stated, and his words were very uncharacteristically positive, as under normal circumstances, he would have been the first to suggest expulsion or suspension. As a teacher, Aizawa tended to be quite strict.

"I don't think it would be wise to expel the young man. He has too much potential"

Another teacher chimed into the conversation. It was a woman with long dark blue hair and bright blue eyes. The way she was dressed only served to make it difficult to look at her; Her hero costume wasn't necessarily revealing. However, it was an extremely tight suit that served as a second skin from afar. One would assume she was naked.

"I understand that Midnight, but the potential is useless if the student can't follow the rules; being a hero is more than just beating up villains."

He reasoned, Aizawa thought that defeating the villain always came secondary and the primary function of being a hero was always to keep the civilians safe, of course that usually meant getting rid of the villain first but the point still stands.

"Well, we'll just have to wait for what Nezu has to say about this; punishment will be on his shoulders.

Vlad uttered that if this had been an incident that happened in the school without any media coverage, it probably wouldn't be a big deal. However, Taro's action affects the whole of UA.

"Aizawa"

All Might entered and called out to Aizawa. He was using his muscular form, and Nezu was sitting on his shoulders.

"Good morning, everyone. I trust you're well rested enough to do your duties today. As I'm sure you're aware, our illustrious institution is being swarmed by the media, there will be a meeting to discuss how to address that but for the time being you can go about your day. Mr Aizawa, if you would follow us please"

The mouse explained before asking Aizawa to follow them as they left, and the man complied. Thankfully, the incident with Taro did not happen under his watch. As such, he shouldn't be at risk.

Meanwhile, outside the school, the media did its best to hound the students as best they could about the situation, doing whatever they could to get something out of someone.

"You there! What do you think about a fellow student already doing hero work? Are you classmates with this Taro Yaoyorozu?"

The report shoved the lavalier mic on the blonde boy's face and, unfortunately, made him angrier than he already was.

"Outta my face, you hag!!"

Bakugou shouted before easily shoving the women out the way and causing her to stumble back. However, she wasn't a reporter for nothing. She collected herself and continued her work.

"Sir, you seem unreasonably angry. Are you perhaps jealous that your classmate is doing hero work despite being a student?"

She threw in the guess, and she saw Bakugou grind his teeth at her words, and she pressed on with her questions. The point was to get a response regardless of what it was, and she could make a story out of it.

"Hag I'm telling you to leave me alone"

He commanded; however, she didn't stop her questions. Unfortunately, her pestering invited another reporter, who also shoved a mic on Bakugou's and started to ask questions.

"If you're his classmate, then what is he like? Does he admire All Might? Is there a reason he would do that despite being still a student"

The reporters continued to pester Bakugou, who began to tighten his fist as his patience slowly eroded; smoke began to slowly emit from his hand, an indicator to get away before things got ugly. The questions from the reporters pressed more and more of his buttons.

"Excuse me, but my friend isn't feeling well, so please give him some space"

Kirishima quickly intervened by suddenly pushing Bakugou forward, not giving him time to think as he hurriedly pushed him towards the gates, as if he was some sort of shopping cart.

He stopped once they entered the school and breathed a sigh of relief; he didn't believe Bakugou would attack the reporters, but knowing his anger, it was better to be safe than sorry.

"That bastard Taro, I bet he's enjoying the attention!"

Bakugou spat in frustration. However, the frustration was more about the fact that Taro, despite doing something he shouldn't have, was a step above him; it proved that Taro was ready to be a hero while he had barely learned the basics.

"Probably but he most likely won't come to class today, and I'm sure the media is swarming his house too"

The redhead assumed the media wanted a scoop by any means, and they'd go to great lengths to get it.

"Humph good! I don't want to see that jerk's face today"

Bakugou said dismissively and stuffed his hands in his pockets before making his way toward the class. Kirishima followed; however, the young man couldn't help but think about Taro's future at UA.

He didn't think they'd expel him after he did an obviously right thing. It may have been unnecessary, but it's still a right thing, even if he broke the rules to do it

Should people break the rules just because they need to do the right thing?

The young man shook his head, clearing his thoughts before he picked up his pace. There was no need to think about such things, and besides, his answer to that question would be yes.

…..

The two young men managed to arrive in class. Unfortunately, they had to push aside a ton of students who seemed intent on blocking their way, something that made Bakugou more pissed than he already was.

After a bout of pushing, shoving, and some elbowing a few out of the way, they managed to finally enter the classroom and shut the door behind them

"Taro you dumbass, this all your fault!!"

Bakugou shouted as he entered, already planning to cause trouble.

"He's not here yet, Bakugou"

Denki informed the angry teen; the young man was seated near Kyouka, and the two of them were sharing something on the phone, with Kyouka holding both phones as she did all the work.

"Then why the hell are there people at our door? If that bozo isn't even here!"

"I guess they're probably waiting for him or something, I mean, he did take down a villain, so he's kind of famous"

Tsuyu answered Bakugou's question, ending her sentence with a ribbit, like a frog.

"What do you guys think will happen? Will he get expelled?"

Toru threw the question to the group; it was a curiosity on her part, but her voice lacked her usual enthusiasm. It's not like she has known Taro for long; however, to have a classmate expelled barely a week in wasn't something to be happy about.

"I don't care what happens to him. He could get expelled for all I care"

Bakugou made his opinion known before quickly taking his seat at the front of the class.

"I don't believe they will expel him, as that increases the risk of him becoming a vigilante"

Iida answered, believing that it wouldn't be logical to expel someone so eager to be a hero and risk them becoming a vigilante or risk them becoming a villain.

"But I don't think they'll just let him go without punishment either'

Kirishima chimed in, and Iida quickly agreed with his words.

"That's true, maybe a suspension? Even though he did a good thing, heroes should not break the rules but work within them"

The boy with glasses explained to his classmates, although he also felt that there were exceptions, as one can't always operate fully under rules and regulations, unfortunately, he didn't believe Taro's situation was one of those exceptions.

"Breaking the rules is something villains do, and something heroes should try to avoid"

It was Kyouka who looked up from the phones; she offered her opinion, spoke, and received an agreeing nod from both Uraraka and Tsuyu. Although the sudden attention from everyone caused her to quickly return her attention to her task, Denki had some really good music on his phone.

"Well some heroes act like villains and don't deserve the title of hero"

Todoroki spoke, his voice unchanged from his typical monotone, or rather if anyone skilled in reading emotions was present, they would have noticed the hidden anger behind the boy's words.

"I think they're going to consider the fact he still put his life on the line to save people, so the punishment probably won't be too bad"

Uraraka expressed that although she couldn't help but feel a bit guilty, Taro was already a better hero than she would be despite not wanting to be one. Even if he did it for fun, like he said, he saved people with a thought while she's out here greedily hoping to make money.

Everyone here but her was here purely because they were inspired by All Might or someone else, and they selflessly wanted to help people except for her. It was such moments that made her realize that she didn't belong.

"Well I don't care. A hero is still a hero by saving people. That doesn't change just because they broke rules. What Taro did was super manly"

Kirishima said, choosing to side with what felt right in his heart; if the result was good and the action was good, then it's all good in his book.

"All of you shut the hell up! There's no point discussing this if the guy isn't here."

Bakugou shouted, having grown tired of the back and forth between them.

"The grouch is right, I don't think it's fair discussing this without either Momo or Taro"

Toru spoke and immediately used Mina as a shield, hiding from Bakugou as she expected him not to be amused by the light insult she had just thrown at him.

"Who're you calling a grouch see-through-girl"

Just as expected, Bakugou retorted, causing both Mina and Toru to chuckle at how predictable he was.

"Toru's right, plus all this hero talk is boring"

Mina said with a pause as she was reminded of the secret Momo had shared yesterday.

"we–"

Her words were suddenly cut short as the alarm was suddenly triggered, instantly causing all of them to jump up in surprise.

"What!!"

"What's happening?"

Two of the students questioned before they saw the hallway being suddenly flooded by a swarm of panicking students.

Tenya Iida was the first to act quickly, opening the door and began shouting, trying to calm the panicking student and stop any possible accidents from happening. Unfortunately, his voice was not loud enough to do anything.

"Uraraka, can you help me float up? If we don't stop this stampede, someone is going to get hurt."

Iida quickly called out to the girl; however, before either of them could do anything, someone else shouted.

"Guys look"

Kirishima quickly called out and pointed out the window, on the side of the class that showed the outside. The class quickly flooded the left side of the building and looked out the window, and the security and teachers were doing their best trying to contain the press that somehow managed to enter the school grounds.

"How'd they get in?"

Denki asked the question that was already in everyone's mind.

…..

[Headmaster's office]

When the Alarm went off Nezu quickly took out a small phone from his pocket saw a notification regarding the issue, causing him to frown before he then typed a message informing the other members of the faculty regarding the problems.

"All Might, you stay ,here, Aizawa and I will deal with the media"

Nezu commanded as he quickly switched from being on All Might's shoulder to diving into Aizawa's long thing scarf.

"Can't you walk?"

Aizawa said with a subdued tone of annoyance, but he found the mouse to be lighter than he thought.

"No"

Nezu said with a smile on his face, although he did appreciate the fact that Aizawa had less muscle, meaning his body was softer compared to All Might's muscular frame when in his transformed state.

"Why do I get to stay?"

"Because you're a press magnet, if the rumours of you working here are confirmed, we'll have the press here every day."

Aizawa explained, and All Might nodded in understanding, although he was a bit disappointed.

The two then exited the room and hurriedly made their way toward the location security was trying to contain the press in.

"How do you think they got in?"

"The was structural failure, one of the walls of the yard collapsed for some reason, I've already informed other members of the faculty to investigate"

Nezu explained before telling Aizawa to pick up the pace
