Aizawa was never a fan of the press, while he believed it was a necessary part of society, he also believed that they tend to ask questions specifically made to get a reaction out of anyone they're talking to, not only that but they seemed to be more invested in the mistakes and failures of a hero than their accomplishments.
Because of that, he tended to avoid them like the plague; he also hated their flashing cameras, as they just stung his eyes.
Although right now he was more than pleased to know that he wouldn't be the one dealing with them.
Aizawa stood right beside the Headmaster, who was standing on an elevated podium, looking at the press, with what seemed to be a calm expression.
"Headmaster, what do you make of the student who violated the rules of the school and the law? You are aware that hero work done without a license is illegal right?"
"Not only that but do the actions of Students Taro Yaoyorozu not show the lackluster teaching abilities of the university?"
"Are hero course students not taught to obey the law and be responsible? If that's not what they learn, what then is the school even teaching the next generation of heroes?"
Questions came from all sides, each specifically asked to paint UA in a bad light; they're questions made to evoke a reaction not just from the Headmaster but the people viewing at home; they deliberately attempt to tear down the prestigious reputation of UA University.
Nezu heaved a sigh as he thought back to the meeting regarding Taro's action. Despite breaking the law, it wasn't something worth getting arrested over; well, if you could pay the massive fine. Nezu has yet to receive any news about Taro's arrest, so he can only assume the fine was paid.
"Student Taro Yaoyorozu's actions are not condoned or accepted by this institution, what the young man did is thoughtless and utterly reckless, his actions could have resulted in the deaths of many and UA University intends to punish such recklessness"
He said and paused, letting the cameras flash as every journalist began taking pictures, he ignored the ceaseless questions that came from the journalists present, choosing to stick to the impromptu script he made a few minutes ago.
This was an unplanned event; the media suddenly storming the school was unexpected and called for a sudden meeting with the press, but it wasn't something Nezu could not handle.
"I believe that with the right guidance and mentor, anyone can be a hero, regardless of their background or origin, and because of that, we at UA are willing to do the necessary work to prove that to anyone willing to learn."
He paused once more, letting the cameras flash and ignoring the questions that came afterward. The trick with the media was always to never get swept up by their pace, say what you want to say, and ignore any questions that are made to get a reaction out of you.
"Despite student Taro's actions, I believe that his actions contributed to the work of the heroes that were on the scene and demonstrated his eagerness to be a hero as such when we issue the appropriate punishment for his actions.
We will consider his good actions, and we hope that this incident does not create reckless and thoughtless heroes but heroes that think before they act and conduct themselves as heroes should. Thank you."
He ended his speech before notifying the security guards to escort the reporters out and then maintaining a perimeter around the school
...
Meanwhile, somewhere else, three teachers stood before a crumbled wall, the same one that allowed the press to be able to enter the school.
"What do we think caused this?"
Cementos asked, as he kneeled on one knee and touched the scattered dust near the walls, rubbing it between his fingers, feeling that it was far too fine as dust to have been produced by anything other than a quirk.
Cementos was a tall individual with a head resembling a slab of cement; his body was very blocky, and his skin was the same pale color as cement; his quirk was obvious just from his name, as it allowed him to manipulate and control any cement base structure.
"It's obviously a quirk and the work of a villain, but what kind of quirk is the issue, not to mention as far as I'm aware we don't have villains that may look to attack the school"
The Gun hero, Snipe answered. The man was also fairly tall, with a gas mask hiding his face, one shaped similar to the muzzle of a horse, he also wore a cowboy hat with an S on it and had a red cloak that covered almost his entire body.
"We are a hero school, villains don't need a reason to attack us, I'm certain the press was simply just a distraction while the villains went after what they really wanted"
Cementos answered his colleague. Villains never needed a reason to cause trouble.
"Not to mention, our identities are in the school's database, I'm sure plenty of villains would kill for that kind of information"
Cementos continued; the words of the hero caused the two others beside him to immediately tense up, realizing that he was correct and the villains could go after their families. The lax atmosphere had suddenly changed as everyone felt the possible danger they were in.
"Then a lockdown is the next logical step, prevent them from leaving if they're already in"
Another hero spoke; it was Ectoplasm, and his voice conveyed the urgency he was feeling at the moment.
This problem needed to be quickly handled at this very moment. His quirk allowed him to create clones of himself, and at present, multitudes of his clones were standing outside, preventing anyone from entering the school.
"That would be the next step but I think it's pointless as the villain probably left already"
Cementos expressed while standing up and dusting off his hands. He was sure that the villains probably came already with an idea of what they wanted and how to get it. As such they were able to quickly get it and leave as fast as possible.
"It's better to be safe than sorry, considering what's at stake"
He added and the other heroes immediately concurred. A hero's identity is one of their most important secrets and is the only thing that allows them to have a normal life and rest; without it, they probably can't get a single moment to themselves.
...…
Within an abandoned warehouse somewhere on the outskirts of Mustafu city, This was a few hours after the Headmaster of UA University made his speech in front of a swarm of media, and now it was all over the news.
Izuku lay flat on his stomach, watching the laptop in the corner of the warehouse, one of the only two spaces in the building that was reserved as a living space.
It was a corner of a warehouse and not its own separate room; however, Izuku had managed to get some wooden boards and created his own makeshift bedroom with a futon and a small wooden box beside the futon and used the box to stash his clothes.
On top of the said box was a notebook, an item he used to write down every detail about the quirks of any hero he could remember, and next to the notebook was a toothbrush, a dry towel, and a bar of soap.
Despite the small space, it was neat and clean, with only a single plastic bag of trash that kept all the leftover pieces of fruit and vegetables that you typically didn't eat.
Interestingly enough all he ever ate were fruits and vegetables and occasionally some meat. They had very little capital to afford the more luxurious foods
Izuku felt comfortable and relaxed; this place was a piece of normalcy that he managed to attain during these years with his teacher, The Hero Killer.
On the other side of the building was another corner one that had only a single futon and some clothes on top of that futon but nothing else. That was the corner reserved for the Hero Killer, and by the looks of it, the man had zero care for it.
The rest of the space in the warehouse was currently in the process of being made into a proper obstacle course that was being designed specifically for Izuku to train and sharpen his skills.
At this time, the young man was watching the news and was hearing a summary of the speech given by Nezu about Taro's actions.
Izuku's opinion on the matter was mixed; on the one hand, he didn't like UA University; if such a school can blatantly ignore Katsuki's past actions and accept him to its halls, then who knows how many people like Katsuki Bakugou are admitted into the school every year.
"No doubt it's as corrupt as the rest of the heroes"
