"Master Weaver, why are you doing this?!" Bide roared in the midst of battle.
He was certain—the Master Weaver was watching this fight unfold!
With the power of the Web of Life and Destiny…
He could do it!
"You should not harbor the intent to kill them."
After a brief silence, an aged voice echoed in Bide's mind.
This voice was meant for him alone. None of the others, not even the British Spider-Man fighting alongside him, could hear it.
But Bide immediately recognized the voice's owner.
The Master Weaver!
"The intent to kill? You mean Solus and his kin?" Bide suddenly understood—he had indeed felt the urge to kill the Inheritors many times.
First, out of rage for the countless Spider Totems they had slaughtered.
Second, to protect the people he cared about—
Toby-Spider, Garfield-Spider, Holland-Spider—characters he had adored in his past life.
And his close friends in this world—Shadow-Spider, Spider-Ham, Peni, and others.
Most importantly—Gwen.
He didn't want these monsters crawling out from some dark corner one day and devouring his loved ones.
And he certainly didn't want to live a life constantly fearing such a fate.
So, to put an end to it all once and for all, he had decided to eliminate them completely.
In the original timeline, the Inheritors had ultimately been exiled to Earth-3145.
In that universe, Spider-Man was Peter Parker's uncle, Ben Parker. Due to an accident, his nephew Peter Parker and his wife May Parker were killed by villains. Devastated, he abandoned his Spider-Man persona and discarded his suit.
Later, the world's Doctor Octopus conducted unchecked experiments, leading to global nuclear detonations and turning the entire planet into a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
The radiation happened to suppress the Inheritors' genetic abilities, making it the perfect prison for them.
But somehow, they eventually escaped—and their escape led to the death of the Master Weaver.
If that was the case, wouldn't wiping them out entirely prevent their return and change the Master Weaver's fate?
As for the consequences…
The original timeline had already proven that he possessed a unique power. Even if he altered "history," it would automatically repair itself in a better direction, rather than collapsing entirely.
That was why he dared to act recklessly in this past timeline.
Originally, he assumed that since the Master Weaver was a direct victim of the Inheritors, having been exiled for so many years, he would despise them, despise them so much that he would orchestrate an elaborate scheme to destroy them.
Surely, the Master Weaver must hate the Inheritors immensely.
But now, he realized he had overlooked something crucial.
Family bonds.
It was clear now—the Master Weaver never intended to exterminate the Inheritor family. He wanted to "cleanse" them.
Or rather—redeem them.
In a way that he deemed appropriate, he sought to redeem the Inheritors.
To grant them rebirth, cleanse their souls, and allow them to start anew!
If nothing unexpected happened, then in the original timeline, the Inheritor family's escape from the post-apocalyptic Earth-3145 was undoubtedly the Master Weaver's doing!
And Bide could now roughly piece together the Master Weaver's plan.
First, the nuclear radiation would be used to weaken the Inheritors' leech-totem abilities as much as possible.
Then, their own cloning technology would be used to transfer them into new bodies—ideally, infant bodies.
The goal was to sever their past and grant them a new life!
But… what kind of justice was this?
The villains get to be redeemed?
And those they had slaughtered…?
A Spider-Man from each world.
And the companions of those worlds' Spider-Men.
Even the ordinary people caught in the crossfire of their battles.
Did they all die in vain?
At that moment, the image of the Weaver in Peter's heart completely crumbled.
The more he had revered him in the past, the more he loathed him now.
A guardian of the Spider Totems?
He was nothing more than a usurper who had stolen the divine authority of the true Spider Goddess, seizing control of the Great Web for himself!
And for his own selfish desires, he had treated countless Spider-Men as mere pawns, disregarding their lives as if they were nothing.
Despicable!
Peter's fury erupted.
In that instant, his eyes suddenly lit up, and his body began to emit a faint glow.
He suddenly felt as if he could see the countless strands of silk weaving through the void.
They were the threads of the Great Web!
Each one representing the fate of a world, the destiny of every being!
And standing at the end of those threads was a colossal spider wearing a grotesque mask, silently watching him.
"Hmph!"
As if guided by instinct, Peter suddenly raised his hand, and the quantum energy within him surged forth. The intangible, formless energy coursed through the equally intangible Great Web, spanning countless universes, piercing into the universe of Earth-001.
"This is…"
The Weaver's emotions rippled with surprise, as if he had never expected Peter to possess such an ability.
He reached out with both hands and grasped one of the threads.
It was the thread representing the Earth-13 universe!
He intended to erase Earth-13 entirely!
"Are you insane? Solus, your past self, and so many Spider Totems are all here! There are also billions of innocent people!" Peter suddenly stopped in his tracks and roared towards the sky.
Peter's sudden outburst caused both Spider-UK and Karn to pause.
"But you are the only one who doesn't belong to this timeline. Once I kill you and reshape this universe, everything will return," the Weaver's indifferent voice echoed.
A chill ran down Peter's spine.
The Weaver had crossed the line.
As the supposed guardian of the Great Web, his primary duty was to ensure its proper functioning—even if he had stolen that power, the responsibility remained unchanged.
Yet now, without any external threat to Earth-13, he was actively choosing to destroy it.
All just to kill Peter.
This act completely betrayed the duty of a protector of the Great Web.
Perhaps he should be called the "Destroyer of the Great Web" instead!
But Peter was powerless against him.
The Great Web was essentially the embodiment of life and fate across the entire Omniverse. Even back then, it had only been created after being personally authorized by the Earth Mother, Gaea, and woven by the Spider Goddess, Neith.
The power and significance it held even surpassed that of the Spider Goddess herself.
It was an artifact of immense power!
Peter had no idea just how strong the Weaver truly was, but with the Great Web in his grasp, Peter knew he stood no chance against him.
Boom!
A deep rumble echoed.
The entire Earth-13 universe began to collapse.
Black holes appeared across space, tearing apart and devouring the surrounding celestial bodies.
Entire star systems vanished in an instant.
On Earth, cracks opened in the sky, consuming everything in their path. The planet's atmosphere began to thin.
The apocalypse had arrived!
