Chapter 203 - Chapter 202: The Mastermind Turns Out to Be Him

Countless thoughts flashed through Peter's mind, but he quickly stopped himself.

Now was not the time to dwell on such things.

Clearly, the sudden arrival of Kahn—second only to Solus in sheer power—into this universe during Peter's absence was the primary cause of the drastic shift in the situation.

It was also the main reason why both the British Spider-Man and the Captain Universe Spider-Man had no choice but to trigger the nuclear radiation in an attempt to turn the tide of battle.

Although their actions managed to shift the situation once more...

Solus had now regained complete freedom of movement, and with Kahn added into the mix, the entire battle had veered into unknown territory.

If their original chances of victory had been 95%, they had now dropped to at least 75%!

There were simply too many unpredictable factors at play!

Fortunately, Peter had returned just in time!

He should be able to eliminate these uncertainties before they spiraled out of control.

Peter quickly explained the situation to the people he had brought back with him and instructed Jean-Parker to take them to find the others who had remained behind in this world.

As he was about to set out, Gwen expressed her desire to go with him, but he refused.

The body Gwen was currently using belonged to the Gwen of Earth-65, not the Gwen from their own timeline—the one who had undergone multiple enhancements through the symbiote.

If it had been that Gwen, her symbiote's immunity to the Inheritors' totemic suppression would have made her a valuable ally.

But now…

Especially with opponents like Kahn and Solus!

Kahn was a being who had hunted and killed a Spider deity!

He was also the future Master Weaver!

Unlike the other Inheritors, who had all perished at some point during their hunts only to be resurrected...

As an exile, Kahn had never been granted such "privileges."

This meant that he had never once died in battle.

His strength was beyond imagination.

When Peter arrived, British Spider-Man was locked in a fierce struggle against Kahn.

Many Spider-People were positioned nearby, keeping watch over the battle, but they found it nearly impossible to intervene.

Several bodies lay on the ground.

They weren't desiccated husks but instead had two puncture wounds on their bodies.

The same cause of death as the Fantastic Five Spider-Man Peter was currently possessing—clearly, all victims of Kahn.

Emerging from the portal, Peter finally got a clear look at the future Master Weaver.

Kahn's build wasn't particularly imposing; in fact, he appeared rather lean.

However, his strength was immense—enough to topple an entire building with his bare hands, far surpassing that of a typical Spider-Man.

Fortunately, British Spider-Man was a magic-based hero, possessing abilities somewhat similar to Doctor Strange.

After learning about the Inheritors' suppression of Spider Totems, he had remained extremely cautious, keeping his distance while engaging Kahn from afar.

Whenever he was in danger, other Spider-People observing from the sidelines would step in to assist.

Through this strategy, they had successfully managed to stall Kahn.

Yet Peter still found the situation odd.

By all logic, British Spider-Man should have been stronger than him.

Based on Captain Britain's established abilities, he possessed the strength of over a hundred tons and could fly at a speed of 670,616,629.4341 miles per hour. After obtaining the Sword of Might, he even gained the power to slice through an entire omniversal universe.

In other words, Captain Britain's upper limit reached the multiversal level!

Could it be that British Spider-Man was just a "low-tier" version of Captain Britain?

Was he merely a magic-using Spider-Man, and Peter had overestimated him?

Peter was perplexed, yet when he had interacted with British Spider-Man before, he had indeed sensed an overwhelming magical presence emanating from him.

If his magic were a lake, then the British Spider-Man's magic would be an ocean!

With such a vast sea of magic, even relying solely on magical projectiles for offense wouldn't be weak—so how could he be considered merely "street-level"?

Peter was utterly perplexed.

But right now, there wasn't much time for him to ponder it deeply.

No matter how many doubts he had, the priority was to take down the enemy first.

Seizing the right moment, Peter once again used [Ikon Illusion], creating multiple clones. Half of them rushed forward for close-quarters suppression, while the rest took the opportunity to cast [Crimson Bands of Cyttorak], attempting to bind Kahn.

However, it was as if Kahn had already anticipated this.

Rather than engaging in direct combat with Peter's clones, he swung his steel trident, knocking one clone aside. In the next instant, his figure flickered, swiftly escaping the encirclement.

Peter furrowed his brows slightly but didn't dwell on it. He continued commanding his clones to launch a rapid assault.

Yet, the more he fought, the stranger it felt.

Kahn seemed to know all of his attack patterns and techniques, predicting his every move the moment he struck—judging his attacks based on gestures and even energy fluctuations!

If Kahn's earlier evasions were due to experience, then what he was doing now was far too eerie!

Even if he had fought Doctor Strange or even a Doctor Strange Spider-Man in another universe, everyone's combat style was different.

Magic could be likened to a math problem.

Take the classic chickens and rabbits in the same cage problem—different people solve it in different ways.

Some use assumption, supposing all are chickens or all are rabbits.

Some use a simple linear equation, setting chickens or rabbits as X.

Others use a system of equations, defining chickens as x and rabbits as y.

Some even use a leg-counting method, assuming rabbits lift two legs.

And so on.

The same logic applies to magic.

Magic can be simplified to some extent.

Only beginners rigidly chant incantations and perform gestures step by step.

But that method is too slow—instant casting is impossible. In battle, that's no different from standing still and taking hits.

So, anyone with some experience in magic simplifies their spells for faster, more efficient casting.

The same spell, when used by different people, will vary based on their unique casting habits.

Unless Kahn had fought him multiple times before, how could he possibly be so familiar with his casting style?

Yet in reality, this was Peter's first time encountering Kahn!

Scenes flashed rapidly through Peter's mind—

The sudden appearance of Solus in Earth-928.

The Inheritors being rescued.

Kahn's unexpected intervention.

At first glance, these incidents seemed unrelated, mere coincidences.

But when so many "coincidences" happened in such a short time, it could only mean they were orchestrated!

And among all the people Peter knew, there was only one who could foresee all of this—who could guide Solus, Kahn, and the other Inheritors.

The Master Weaver!

But why?

Wasn't the Master Weaver supposed to be the one behind the prophecy?

Wasn't it because he didn't want the Inheritors to continue hunting Totems—because he couldn't bear to see more bloodshed and sacrifice—that he wove this prophecy so the Spider-Totems could one day put an end to it all?

Peter had always thought the Master Weaver was his natural ally.

But now, he realized—he was wrong!
