The moment he stepped in, he sensed something was off.
Under normal circumstances, the Earth-13 universe should be almost the same as when he left.
As far as known inheritors go, aside from Bora and Brex, all the others had either been captured or restrained.
Bora and Brex, the twin siblings, ranked among the weakest within the inheritor family.
While a single Spider-Man might struggle against them, there were plenty of Spider-Men remaining in the Earth-13 universe. If each of them spat on the twins, they'd drown in a flood of saliva.
Moreover, this group included two particularly formidable figures—Captain Universe Spider-Man and Spider-UK.
Judging by the situation when he left, Captain Universe Spider-Man was fully capable of keeping Solus in check.
His Captain Universe power allowed him to infinitely amplify his stamina and endurance, making his energy practically inexhaustible.
So if he could suppress Solus before, there was no reason he wouldn't be able to do so now.
This situation was different from the original timeline.
In that history, Captain Universe Spider-Man had always been invincible, which led to his overconfidence. He recklessly engaged Solus in close combat, giving Solus the opportunity to exploit the Leech Totem's ability to counter other Totems, ultimately draining his life force.
To put it simply—it was a "plot kill."
But this time, thanks to Peter's warning, Captain Universe Spider-Man was well aware of his previous mistake. There was no way he would fight in close quarters again.
Logically, nothing should have gone wrong.
And yet, the reality was different.
When Peter returned to the Earth-13 universe, he found the entire area flooded with violent, chaotic energy surging in all directions.
"This energy... it's nuclear radiation!"
Peter's heart skipped a beat. He immediately cast a magic shield, covering himself and his teammates before teleporting them to a safer location.
His expression darkened.
The presence of nuclear radiation meant that their Plan B had been activated.
Plan B was a contingency measure—an alternative in case the "Luring the Enemy into the Trap" plan didn't go as expected.
The entire operation was structured as follows:
Phase One: Luring the Enemy into the Trap
The goal was to track down and capture the inheritors who were once again wreaking havoc across different universes and throw them into the Earth-13 universe.
With Captain Universe Spider-Man present, Earth-13 was currently the best stronghold in the multiverse.
Had Captain Universe Spider-Man not been around, Peter would have chosen a different universe—a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with radiation.
By capturing a few inheritors and deliberately escalating the situation, they could be sure that Solus, whom the Spider-People loathed, would come rushing in.
Once he was lured into their home turf, they could deal with him with confidence.
Phase Two: A Diversionary Tactic
While the main battlefield engaged the inheritors and held their attention, a separate stealth-oriented Spider-team would infiltrate Earth-803 and destroy the inheritors' cloning device.
This would permanently strip them of their ability to resurrect endlessly!
Plan B, however, was an emergency fallback.
It was only to be executed if Peter miscalculated and Captain Universe Spider-Man failed to suppress Solus.
To prepare for this, they had artificially modified the Earth-13 universe using Captain Universe Spider-Man's powers.
Specifically, they altered the cosmic barrier of Earth-13, transforming it into a vortex-like structure.
Most people were familiar with how a vortex worked.
It pulls in surrounding water and anything floating on the surface, dragging them downward in a spiraling current.
When applied to a cosmic barrier, this principle meant that spatial channels leading into Earth-13 would be effectively stabilized.
In other words, no matter where someone in another universe tried to open a portal, the vortex effect would inevitably redirect their gateway to a location of Peter's choosing.
And this place was chosen by them to be in a vast uninhabited zone.
Here, they set up a nuclear cauldron, placing nuclear reactors, nuclear waste, and other materials gathered from around the world at the bottom.
At the critical moment, with just an instant, they could activate them, flooding the entire space with nuclear radiation!
For the Spider-Men, nuclear radiation was merely a highly threatening foreign energy source, but not fatal.
With their enhanced physiques and the radiation-resistant coating applied to their suits in advance, as long as they left the area in time, they wouldn't suffer significant harm.
But for the Inheritors, nuclear radiation was nearly fatal!
It was their only weakness!
Nuclear radiation could comprehensively restrict the Inheritors in terms of physical strength, power, speed, and even their supernatural abilities.
Even the mighty Solus was no exception!
However, nuclear radiation was a double-edged sword.
Though it could be used to defeat the enemy, it would also cause irreversible damage to this world.
Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, they wouldn't use it.
Even Cosmic Spider-Man wouldn't agree to it easily.
But now, they had used it!
This meant that in the hour since Bide had left, the situation had changed drastically.
And most likely, for the worse!
But what could have happened?
Bide's gaze drifted toward the sky as he extended his mental perception outward.
"Mr. Space-Time, what happened? Where are the enemies and our people?"
Zhang Parker stepped forward and asked. After the battles they had fought together, he had developed complete respect for Bide.
He thought that if not for Bide, he might have already died at the hands of an Inheritor.
This experience also planted a thought in his mind—if it were Peter Parker, what would he do?
This question had crossed his mind more than once.
His suit was damaged in several places—scars left from the battle against Jennix's clone soldiers in the Earth-803 universe.
Bide scanned the area multiple times before finally spotting traces of battle.
At this moment, Earth-13 had two battlegrounds!
One was in the upper layers of Earth's atmosphere, where Cosmic Spider-Man was fighting Solus. The two, with bodies that had long surpassed mortal limits, were clashing at supersonic speeds in the nearly oxygen-free stratosphere and beyond, making the battle incredibly intense.
The other battlefield was in a wasteland several hundred kilometers away, where British Spider-Man was leading the attack while the other Spider-Men provided cover.
And their opponent was someone least expected to be there.
Karn!
The outcast of the Inheritor family!
Why was he here?
Due to some historical grievances, Karn harbored deep hatred toward the entire Inheritor family.
Moreover, he was incredibly powerful, even possessing the ability to traverse parallel universes.
Yet, according to the original course of events, he should currently be fighting the Were-Spider in some other universe.
Why had he suddenly "changed course" and arrived in Earth-13?
Was it the butterfly effect caused by his time-space travel?
Or… was there a traitor among them?!
