When it came to her, he simply couldn't stand by and do nothing.
So, he came.
Thankfully, it wasn't too late...
Ryan Gregory looked at her for a long moment before speaking, "If you really want to thank me, help me bandage this wound."
This was the only way he could look at her a bit longer, spend just a little more time with her.
But she might refuse.
Ryan's gaze fixed unwaveringly on her. He didn't dare harbor much hope, but at that moment, he heard her say, "Wait here for me. I'll go buy some medicine."
In that instant, a warmth flowed into his heart, spreading through his entire body.
A faint smile touched Ryan's dark eyes as he watched her rush to the pharmacy across the street to buy medicine, then hurry back with equal urgency.
She had him sit on the stone bench and carefully rolled up his sleeve.
The pristine white fabric was stained with blood, the sharp scent of iron filling the air.
