Chapter 875 - Chapter 875 The End Of The Onion Knight

"What a commotion! This underground palace is sturdier than it looks, it can handle the chaos they're causing!"

The members of the Loki Familia watched the fierce battle between the Onion Knight and Titan King Yhorm unfold. The intensity of the fight was undeniable, as every swing of the Onion Knight's Storm Ruler sent out a massive gust of wind, a stark reminder of the power gap between the strong and the weak.

Yhorm, wielding his colossal greatsword, retaliated with equally overwhelming force. Each strike of his blade unleashed a torrent of flames, and with his enormous size and sheer strength, the entire palace trembled with every blow.

"Captain, look over there! Isn't that sword the same as Uncle Siegward's?"

Tione's sharp eyes caught sight of a sword embedded beside Yhorm's throne. The sword was clearly identical to the one the Onion Knight wielded, the Storm Ruler.

"That must be the second Storm Ruler," Finn nodded, his eyes narrowing, "Siegward mentioned before that there were two swords created to take down the Titan King Yhorm. One was given to his friend, and the other was left here in the City of Sins."

"With the city now in ruins, retrieving this sword makes sense. But it's a powerful weapon, and Siegward clearly isn't a match for Yhorm alone. We need to join the fight! "

Finn realized that despite Siegward's intentions, he wouldn't be able to defeat Yhorm on his own. The Onion Knight knew this as well, that's why he had asked the Loki Familia for assistance. As much as Siegward wished to honor his promise to his old friend, his strength alone wasn't enough.

He had no choice but to call for backup, a decision that pained him deeply. But no matter how difficult, the vow to his friend had to be kept, even if it meant relying on others.

This was a promise to a dear friend, one that could not be broken. He would do whatever it took to fulfill it, no matter the cost.

Without hesitation, Finn drew the second Storm Ruler from the ground. As he began charging the weapon's power, he could feel the swirling winds gathering around the blade, much like Siegward's own sword.

Once fully charged, Finn swung the sword with all his might, unleashing a powerful storm directly toward Yhorm.

At this moment, Titan King Yhorm was entirely focused on his battle with the Onion Knight. His back completely unguarded, the sudden strike landed squarely, sending Yhorm crashing to the ground. Seizing the opportunity, the Onion Knight swiftly rushed forward, delivering another powerful blow before Yhorm could get back on his feet.

The two fighters, the Onion Knight and Finn wielding the second Storm Ruler, coordinated their relentless assault from both sides.

With each successive strike, Yhorm found himself overwhelmed, unable to withstand the combined power of these ancient swords designed specifically to defeat giants.

The Titan King, who had once been an unstoppable force, now found himself overpowered and beaten down, unable to retaliate effectively.

As the Storm Ruler unleashed its final burst of wind, Yhorm was left gravely injured, his massive form battered and exhausted.

In this defeated state, Yhorm no longer appeared as a terrifying Titan King but rather a warrior relieved to finally put down the heavy burden he had carried.

"I owe you my thanks, old friend. You've honored our promise, and now, I can finally rest. I am free at last from the chains of being a Lord of Cinder. I am tired… please, return me to my throne!"

Yhorm spoke his final words, closing his eyes for the last time. He had not been slain outright in the battle; his body had endured, but his spirit had been spent long before.

The battle had simply drained the last remnants of his will, and with the end of the fight, he embraced his death as a release from his cursed existence as a Lord of Cinder.

The Onion Knight, looking at the fallen body of his old friend, let out a sigh, "Yes… it's over. Thank you, everyone from the Loki Familia, for your help in this!"

Finn shook his head, a grim expression on his face. "No, Sir Siegward, we should be thanking you. We came here for the souls of the Titan King Yhorm and the other monsters we've faced. Without your guidance, we wouldn't have even found this place, let alone defeated Yhorm!"

Looking down at the lifeless body of Yhorm, Finn felt a mix of emotions. He stared at the massive, decapitated head of the Titan King and thought to himself, 'A soul meant to kindle the flame… such a hopeless fate.'

"No, I must thank you all the same. You helped me fulfill my promise… but now, I have one more request!"

The Onion Knight suddenly said.

"Of course, we'll help in any way we can!"

Finn didn't hesitate either. By now, the Loki Familia had grown fond of the Onion Knight. His warmth, his sincerity, and his unwavering knightly spirit had earned their respect. Though their journey together had been brief, their bond had grown strong.

"Thank you," The Onion Knight said with a soft smile. "For treating my weapons so well!"

And then, to everyone's shock, the Onion Knight took his own life, just as they had been speaking. With a swift motion, he pierced himself with his sword, much like the end he had chosen for Yhorm.

This scene played out eerily similar to what some had seen in games, a warrior, bound by honor and friendship, ultimately unable to live with the weight of his actions. Siegward, having fulfilled his promise to end Yhorm's suffering, found no reason to continue. He, too, had been ready for this end.

In the world of Dark Souls, it was known that after defeating Yhorm, players could witness Siegward's death if they kept a certain distance from him. The Onion Knight would leave behind all his armor and weapons, as his journey has been completed.

There were two main interpretations of Siegward's death. One was that he died from exhaustion after the fight, drained from using up all his strength.

The second was that Siegward had always intended to take his own life after Yhorm's death. The latter seemed more fitting here, as Siegward hadn't sustained severe injuries during the fight, his death was a choice, a deliberate action taken once his promise had been fulfilled.

In the end, Siegward valued his knightly code above all else. He had fulfilled his oath, but in doing so, he had killed a friend. With such a weight on his conscience, he could not bear to continue living. And so, like his fallen friends before him, Siegward followed them into death, leaving everything he had to the comrades who had helped him along the way.

Siegward truly embodied the spirit of knighthood. He honored his promise, even though it led to such a tragic end. It's hard to imagine anyone could live with that kind of burden.
