"He… he actually committed suicide!"
The group was stunned. They had spent enough time with the Onion Knight to regard him as one of their own. They had grown fond of the cheerful, onion-shaped man with his good-natured personality.
Witty and humorous, he had become a source of warmth and camaraderie during their journey. But now, he had taken his own life, and the group couldn't fully accept it.
"He was a true knight. He walked this long road to honor a promise, but in the end, he was forced to kill his closest friend with his own hands. For him, it was an unavoidable choice, and suicide was his way of apologizing."
Finn spoke with a somber tone, "This is the kind of thing only a real knight could do. He deserves our respect. I, for one, couldn't have done it!"
As an adventurer, Finn wasn't bound by the same knightly codes, and while he had a good character, he couldn't bring himself to make such a sacrifice. He could never imagine killing his own friend, even in the name of a promise.
To some, the Onion Knight's decision might seem foolish, but to Finn, it was an honorable and selfless act, something only those with an exceptionally strong moral compass could achieve.
"He's worthy of our respect. Let's bury him here. As for Yhorm's body, there's no need to take it. Let them rest here together!"
Riveria, the elven mage, quietly nodded. Using her magic, she created two graves in the ground, one large and one smaller. Under normal circumstances, they would have taken the Lords of Cinder's head, Yhorm's head, as a trophy or offering. But now, it didn't seem necessary.
This world no longer needed such relics. The rest of the party could leave this place, and those who remained could rest. They had no reason to keep these things for themselves, so they chose to lay both the Onion Knight and the Titan King Yhorm to rest in the same place.
However, they honored their pact by taking the Onion Knight's weapon, as well as Yhorm's.
Though it seemed unlikely they could wield the giant's sword, but it's the weapon of the Titan King, so they'll just find a way to take it back first, and maybe there is a way to re-smelt it? At least it's better than leaving it here.
Moreover, Yhorm's soul could be used to craft powerful items, the Greatshield of Yhorm and Yhorm's Great Machete, turning them into weapons that could serve them well in the future.
There were also the two Storm Ruler swords, which are extremely valuable relics. Finn and the others took them, knowing their potential importance in the battles to come.
And then, there was the wealth of the place itself. When they first arrived, they had noticed that the floors were lined with gold, and treasures of all kinds filled the palace, golden goblets, silverware, and countless valuables. There was more wealth than they could carry.
If these things were brought back, they would be quite valuable. Of course, they didn't take too much away, after all, the current Loki Familia wasn't exactly hurting for money at the moment.
In the past, they had spent large sums on weapons, potions, and supplies, but in this world, weapons could be crafted using souls and repaired easily. The blacksmiths at Firelink Shrine could fix anything, including enchanted gear, so there was little need for excessive wealth now.
The biggest challenge they had faced was adapting to the eccentricities of this world. The most bizarre encounter was with an elderly woman who would actually mix bone ash into her food. The game seemed to take a twisted pleasure in such grotesque details, and one particular type of ash had a particularly disturbing name: "Dung-Covered Ashes."
And without hesitation, this woman had cooked her meals with it. It was the kind of act that left many speechless, and for those of refined sensibilities, it was downright nauseating. The thought of someone eating such things made their skin crawl.
Weapons and armor aren't something to worry about, and the same goes for potions. In this world, there are Estus Flasks, which work similarly to universal potions. The best part is that they can be used multiple times and are easy to refill.
With something like that, who needs panacea? Even though they didn't have many at first, Finn and the others quickly found a lot of Estus Shards and some ashes.
Under the adventurer's staff, they currently had two full Estus Flasks, and plenty in reserve, though in this world, the Estus Flasks weren't as effective as they seemed.
After dealing with the Titan King Yhorm, the group didn't hurry back. They returned to Irithyll, where they took another path, which led them to a large hall. After defeating Sulyvahn, they needed to head elsewhere, but the place they were in now was one of the most frustrating locations in the game.
There were many Silver Knights here. While their strength wasn't that overwhelming in close combat, their ranged attacks were the real annoyance.
Earlier, everyone had obtained Demon-Hunting Bows and tested their power, but the Silver Knights weren't using those, they had Dragon-Hunting Bows.
According to the game setting, getting hit by a regular arrow would just reduce some health, but getting hit by these? It would send a person flying. That was excessive! One arrow was bad enough, but getting hit by two or three?
It was nearly impossible to dodge so many arrows in succession, making it the most frustrating part.
God knows how many players died here. When Finn and the others arrived, they were greeted with a barrage of Dragon-Hunting Arrows. The force was enough to shatter stone, and unlike in the game, hiding behind walls wasn't safe.
These arrows were designed to slay dragons, so their power was immense, leaving everyone a bit anxious.
The arrows easily penetrated walls, and even their bows were useless in return fire. With so many family members to protect, Riveria's magic wasn't useful either, as there was no time to chant a spell.
The enemies automatically aimed at any source of magic, shattering dozens of walls with ease.
The only option was to take out these archers from a distance. Otherwise, dealing with them all at once would be a nightmare.
Otherwise, these guys will be very difficult to deal with when they unite together.
"I didn't expect these guys to be so troublesome. It's up to me, Ais, and Bete now. We're the fastest and can easily dodge their shots. But be careful, getting hit is no joke," Finn said
Now, it was time for the agile ones to shine. As for Gareth's defense, unfortunately, against those attacks, it was nearly useless.
