In a blink of an eye, the Debuntate Test arrived. The entire academy was clothed in a flurry of activities and everywhere was adorned in a burst of colours. It was adorned in the academy shades of blue and the entire outdoor area had a huge grandstand that could house thousands. When Freia witnessed the entire stage, her heart sped a little faster. However, she really should have known this. The academy was directly afflicted to the royals and they were the sworn protectors of the royals as well. It really shouldn't come as a surprise that almost everyone who's anyone in this nation would be here.
However, that didn't mean that she wouldn't still be nervous.
She looked at her reflection and zipped up her windbreaker. She wore a mask so that no one could really notice her. With the levelling up of her levels, the petty curse had slowly faded away and she could only rely on such means to hide her appearances. She wasn't keen on having anyone looking at her nor was she keen on attracting any attention to herself. Besides, it was best that the person who had placed this curse on her wouldn't know that the curse had been lifted.
"You there! Hurry get in line, you're next!" the event organiser yelled shrilly and Freia quickly got into the red line as they stepped out into the field. The first category was: girl fight.
Two teams would be pitted against each other and they could only have one weapon and the last one standing for the team would win the first category.
Since it was a "friendly" competition, that meant that life threatening moves would be frowned upon. However, that had never stopped some nobles and unethical girls from going beyond what they were strong advised to adhere to.
"Beeeep!" The buzzer rang signalling the commencement of the fight. Croching, Freia appeared in her black tracksuit and mask and she tried her best to avoid any contact with any of the girls inasmuch as possible.
Defense. Defense. Defense was the way to go! She gritted her teeth and dodged.
"What a roach! Look at that girl! She's been dodging the entire contest."
"Is this the best the academy has to offer?"
"What an embarrassment to the royal academy!"
Hearing the comments unexpectedly, Freia was annoyed to no ends. Didn't know that the best martial technique was really the art of defense? She bit her lower lip in annoyance.
Glancing to her right, she couldn't help but not ignore the fact that she thought she saw a familiar faint of a smile on someone's lips.
