"No, no way. We have guns too!" the woman said fearfully.
"What's the use of having guns? Are you new? They're trained.
And their goal wasn't to ambush you.
Think about it. Was the gunfire loud? Didn't the whole city hear it?
The PN Soldiers heard it too. What does that mean?
Reinforcements are coming.
Once the reinforcements arrive, these guys will pick up their guns again and attack from behind while others come from the front.
Can you defend against that?"
Everyone turned pale after hearing Paige's words.
"So next time you run into this kind of situation, just shoot them. They don't understand what you're saying anyway. What's the point of keeping them alive?
Besides, when the enemy kneels down and becomes a target, they're much more obedient than the ones who fight back.
They're actually saving everyone time.
If you take a PN Soldier prisoner, you have to feed him, escort him, guard him. Isn't that a hassle?" Paige complained.
The twenty-some women all looked like they had learned something. They nodded. Got it. They wouldn't make the same mistake again.
Thanks to Paige's personal instruction, later on whenever this group of women went on missions, there were never any survivors left behind.
If they ran into an important figure, their superiors had to remind them again and again that the PN Soldier had valuable intel, and it was better to keep him alive.
They were worried this group of women would just shoot or accidentally fire on the PN Soldiers.
Of course, that's all later. Right now, they had no idea they would become powerful agents.
Right now, they were just a group of ordinary women whose hands and legs still trembled while holding guns.
"Alright. Because of your soft hearts, the reinforcements have already arrived at the gate. Let's go meet them," Paige said, slinging her gun and heading out.
Everyone else in the train station had already been cleared by Winn and Uziel.
If the job was left to these rookies, it would've taken several more days.
Paige walked ahead, and the others quickly followed.
Their hearts were no longer panicking. They could now face the PN Soldiers more calmly and raise their guns at them.
Paige left quickly and decisively. In the previous cities, she had always come secretly.
But this time, because they encountered that situation as soon as they entered the city and since she wanted to help these people, she ended up making quite a big scene.
When she saw the enemies and one of them was about to raise his gun, Paige immediately threw a bunch of grenades at him.
The leader was blown straight into the air.
The ones behind were hit by the heatwave and fell down in a large group.
The few who were lucky enough to still be standing were hit by falling debris.
"Come here! If you can't shoot, you can at least throw things, right? Come on, I'll teach you."
"Pull it open, tap it once, then throw it toward the PN Soldier as fast as you can," Paige said, showing them how to do it.
The women quickly nodded.
Each of them threw one to show Paige.
Luckily, even though their aim wasn't good, they had decent strength from years of hard work.
At least, they wouldn't end up blowing themselves up.
Paige saw that they had naturally split into four or five groups. That way, they didn't take up too much space and could take breaks.
Then she left them alone and went around to the back of the PN Soldier to shoot from behind.
With attacks from both the front and the back, the PN Soldiers were quickly wiped out.
Paige led them to another location, waiting for the next group of reinforcements.
After taking out four or five groups, fewer and fewer came until none at all. Finally, they cheered in excitement.
This was truly a victory.
Paige didn't join in their cheering. Instead, she began collecting the items inside the train station.
These PN Soldiers really were desperate.
They had dismantled all kinds of machines to transport.
No wonder so many areas inside the factory were empty. Turns out they had moved everything out.
Even though she didn't know what use they had, it was still best to collect them. If the PN Soldiers went through all the trouble to ship them home, they had to be valuable.
There were also all kinds of cloth, food, medicine, antiques.
Paige couldn't help but click her tongue in amazement. No wonder so many people liked being bandits; these kinds of rewards were really tempting.
After sorting the items from over a dozen train carriages, Paige felt a deep sense of regret. Who knew how much valuable stuff had already been taken away? What a pity.
She secretly thought to herself that if there was ever a chance, she'd love to visit their base.
All the good things had already been taken back there, so if she went herself, she could really make a fortune.
But that was all something for the future. Right now, before she became strong enough, she couldn't afford to be too bold.
Paige stepped out the door, raised her hand, and said, "Looks like the enemy won't be delivering themselves to us for a fight.
I'll take you all to enjoy the thrill of sweeping them out."
She told Winn to drive the truck over. The women soldiers sat in the back while Winn and Uziel drove in the front and stayed alert.
Paige loaded several boxes of grenades onto the truck and placed them in the middle.
"You split into two rows. If you see the PN Soldier and think you can throw a grenade far enough, do it. If they're too far, then shoot.
Do whatever's easiest. Tonight, our goal is to leave no one alive.
Oh, and make sure you stay covered. Don't let your heads stick up too high." They could use the edges of the truck to hide behind.
Paige also spread out her mental energy to monitor the whole area.
She was mainly worried that the PN Soldier might have set up snipers in ambush.
If there were snipers, her people would be easy targets.
Winn and Uziel drove the truck to the city gate first to clear the area.
The city gate was hard to break through from the outside, but attacking from the inside was much easier. After tossing a few grenades, Paige and her team took control of the gate.
Since there was no one around, there was no need to leave anyone guarding it. Now they could go wherever they wanted and attack anywhere.
"I think we should speed things up. The officers in the city probably already called nearby reinforcements for help.
We need to wipe out all the PN Soldiers in the city before they arrive," Paige said to Uziel, who was driving.
Usually, they attacked quietly. But this time they made a big commotion and wasted too much time.
Otherwise, with so few enemies in the city, they could have taken care of them quickly.
The entire city was almost a ruin. The PN Soldiers only stayed because there were still valuable things left behind. So, their forces weren't very strong here.
So, the vehicle sped up toward the command center, and along the way, whenever they saw any PN Soldiers, they shot them all down.
Tonight felt surreal for these women. Was it really that easy to kill the enemy?
Along the way, in a daze, the PN Soldiers kept falling one after another.
As for the puppet soldiers and collaborators, they hadn't shown up yet. After all, there weren't many civilians left in the city, so there weren't people to control.
Actually, even if there were, anyone with sense would be hiding by now. No one would be stupid enough to rush out and get themselves killed, right?
All the way to the command center, Paige killed three snipers.
Luckily, the snipers were far away, or it would've been difficult. After all, she could only kill them one by one for now, she hadn't yet figured out how to take out a group at once.
PN Lieutenant Ino was trembling with fear. He urged the communications officer again to make a call and ask when reinforcements would arrive. The enemy was already at the door.
"They said the reinforcements will arrive very soon. Please hold on, Major," the communications officer said politely.
Hearing the gunfire outside, PN Lieutenant Ino paced nervously around the room.
Did he think holding on was something he could actually control?
The guards at the train station were already half the city's military force.
Then they sent even more troops to support, and now not one of them had come back.
What could they possibly do with just the few of them left?
"Keep calling! Don't you see? Why are they taking so long to get here?"
The communications officer: It's only been less than a minute…
Still, he picked up the phone again and started dialing that familiar number.
He was afraid of dying too. He wanted the reinforcements to arrive as soon as possible.
"Bang!" The door was kicked open.
Both the communications officer and PN Lieutenant Ino were startled.
The word "St*pid" was on the tip of his tongue, almost shouted out loud.
But when he turned around, it wasn't one of his own soldiers. It was an unfamiliar woman.
