"Welcome," a humongous black humanoid greeted Alex.
"Who are you, and what happened to my body?!" Alex exclaimed.
In front of Alex stood a gigantic black humanoid, as big as a mountain. He had long black hair, crimson-red eyes, covered with mesmerizing obsidian-like armor with dragonic scales. On his back was strapped a longsword, a white sword radiating moonlight all over.
"Young soul, I am a god, a being incomprehensible to your understanding."
"And what happened to your body you ask? That's simple. You are currently existing as a soul without a body, that means you can only think and nothing else," the god calmly explained.
"Then how am I able to see you?" Alex inquired.
"You are able to see me because I deemed it so, I modified your soul to enable that," the god condescendingly lectured.
"Is this the afterlife? Am I going to go to heaven or hell?" Alex questioned.
"Can I finally meet my brother?" Alex asked.
"In a sense this is the afterlife, but not entirely, since you are not bound to any world, and existing as a soul, you can consider it such, but this is my domain, and you are not present in the realms such as heaven or hell, which are normally considered the afterlife. And I am not here to send you to one of these realms, I am here to give you something much better," The god patiently lectured.
"Oh, and as for your brother, the answer is no."
"I don't want any of your gifts! I just want to meet my brother! Alex shouted.
"Silence, you fool!"
The god drew his longsword—shing!!—and the god slashed through Alex's soul, shattering it into millions of pieces.
"Aaargh," Alex screamed, he felt like he died millions of times over in a single second with that attack.
"I'm sincerely sorry, Your Excellency," Alex quickly apologized, fearing he might be slashed again. This was a pain thousands of times worse than anything he had ever felt.
Truly, the power of a god is terrifying.
The god sheathed his fearsome longsword, and started explaining to Alex about why he has brought him here.
"Why don't we get down to business," the god exclaimed.
"So the reason I have brought you here is to grant you another chance. Wonderful, isn't it?"
"If I may ask, what does your excellency mean by another chance?"
"Oh, that's obvious, young soul. I am going to send you to another world, basically, you will be reincarnated."
"Why did you choose me? I have no desire for such. I assure you I am not capable enough to fulfill your goals. So can you reconsider and send me to my brother, great lord."
"If you don't stop inquiring about your brother, I will cleave your soul thousands of times, so stop!" The god bellowed in an almighty voice.
"Well, as for why I chose you, it is because of your suffering. I took an interest in it, I don't have much to do, so the only thing I do for entertainment is watch interesting life forms."
"You know it's quite boring here," the god exclaimed.
"So the only reason you chose me is for your entertainment?!" Alex furiously questioned, driven by his past trauma.
"Lower your tone!"
Whoom!
A godlike mighty aura spread through space. Urghh!
Alex felt his head exploding countless times within the time frame of a second.
"Now do you understand your position, you lowly human?!" The god's voice filled the room.
"Yes, sorry for my insolence." Alex immediately apologized.
"Regardless, I have decided to grant you some powers to make things more entertaining."
"Thank you for your benevolence."
"If I may ask, what are those powers?"
"Firstly, I will have to explain to you what world you will be inhabiting."
"It is a magical world, in that world you can gain powers akin to me, a god,"
"But of course, it is almost impossible."
"In that world there are magicians, martial artists, and monsters. Almost everything magical you can imagine, exists."
"In that world, the rule of power is absolute, and its name is Mealir."
"So, what powers am I granting you?"
"I am giving you potential, how you use it is your choice."
"To make things more entertaining, I have decided to give you powers, like the so-called video games that exist in your world,"
"Now let me explain a bit more to you. Firstly, I gave you a system that displays all your skills, attributes, abilities, etc. Pretty convenient, right?"
"Secondly, I gave you a harmonious constitution. Usually in Maelir, one can only choose a single profession, for example, one can't be a magician and a swordmaster at the same time, but with your unique constitution, you can be a magician, a swordmaster, and anything you desire all at once. Pretty great, right?"
"Thirdly, I gave you an infinite storage that grows as you grow, like in those video games," he added.
"Lastly, I gave you the ability to manipulate all elements with about average talent. That's a very powerful ability, but there are people with talent surpassing yours many times over, so don't you think you are almighty now, your talent matches that of a low-ranking noble."
"A noble?" Alex asked.
"Yes, most of this world is ruled by a feudal monarchy, similar to medieval Europe in your world."
"But don't worry, what I gave you is potential, your combined powers create that. So if you use them right, even noble will not be your match."
"Ok, that's enough explaining, any questions?"
"Yes, just one. About my reincarnation—can you tell me more?"
"Most certainly,"
"You will be reborn into a commoner family as an infant, does that answer your question?"
"Yes, it does, thank you. But I forgot to ask one more question—may I?
"Go ahead."
"How will I be able to access my powers?"
"Easy, just think about a system, and a blue panel will open before you. The rest like the talent and the ability I gave you. You will have to learn how to use them yourself."
"Now, any more questions?"
"No, so what happens now, will you send me to this world now?"
"Yes, farewell."
Swoosh!
Where am I?
Where is that god?
And what is this dark, sticky place?
