Chapter 21 - Chapter 021 – Iron Will, Silver Strength!

Sakayanagi wanted a list of names for the entire school.

The school name list required 300,000 points. Just one grade level cost 100,000 points.

For new students, 300,000 points was too much. Even 100,000 points was difficult, since each new student only received 100,000 yen.

Sakayanagi wisely chose to print the first-year students' name list, paying 100,000 yen.

The printing process was quick, with Horikita Manabu completing it within five minutes.

When Sakayanagi left the Student Council, she carried a bag of documents.

Sendoh's request to join the Student Council was rejected.

It seemed somewhat impolite, but Sendoh understood. Horikita Manabu didn't reject him completely.

The reason was that he needed a month of evaluation.

'It's only the second day,' thought Sendoh. 'What is being tested?'

But this was a special day. New students were participating in their first special exam for a month, about behavioral norms, to see if they were suitable for Koudo Ikusei High School.

On the 1st day of the second month, the school rules would be announced.

Horikita Manabu set a one-month limit to avoid schedule conflicts.

If new students joined the Student Council, they would get more information, possibly leaking exam questions.

That risk had to be avoided.

'But the rejection is just about timing, not completely,' thought Sendoh.

Horikita Manabu's criteria were based on strength, without discrimination against lower classes.

This showed that Horikita Manabu acknowledged lower-class students could rise up.

'They really are siblings,' thought Sendoh.

Horikita Manabu and Horikita Suzune were both cold.

'But her brother is excellent, why is his sister in Class D?' thought Sendoh.

"In that case, we'll be going back," said Sendoh and Sakayanagi to Horikita Manabu.

"Eh," Horikita Manabu nodded.

They headed toward the gate. Sakayanagi held her bag in her left hand, a cane in her right, making it difficult to open the gate.

Sendoh noticed, stepped forward to open the door.

Sakayanagi stared at Sendoh.

As he opened the Student Council door, Sendoh saw two students outside.

A man and a woman. A handsome man, a beautiful woman.

The man was tall with short blonde hair, an ordinary face, and muscular legs. He must diligently train physically.

His smile was cheerful and elegant, with an elite aura.

The woman was petite, slightly taller than Sakayanagi. Her hair was short, well-groomed, and tied up in two buns.

She looked cute.

This woman had appeared with Horikita Manabu at the opening ceremony, seeming to be the Student Council secretary.

"President," said the purple-haired woman at the door.

"Move aside first," said Horikita Manabu.

Both moved aside, letting Sendoh and Sakayanagi pass.

Nagumo Miyabi watched Sendoh and Sakayanagi until they left.

The purple-haired secretary, Akane Tachibana, arrived in front of Horikita Manabu. She was Horikita Manabu's classmate, appointed as Student Council secretary after Horikita became president.

"Earlier, junior Nagumo and I checked, there's a problem in the first-year Class C," said Tachibana, holding a notebook.

"There's a personal battle."

"New students usually just have minor clashes," said the blonde-haired man, Nagumo Miyabi, entering alongside Tachibana. "Fighting doesn't need to be serious. Violence sometimes solves problems."

"Nagumo, your idea is dangerous," Tachibana said quickly.

Despite patrolling together, they had different opinions.

Nagumo and Horikita Manabu had different philosophies.

"I'm just suggesting," said Nagumo. "And Tachibana-senpai, call me Vice President."

Nagumo Miyabi, the representative of Class A in the second year, a popular junior acknowledged by Horikita Manabu, was recruited as Student Council vice president, having great influence in the second year.

"President, why did those two juniors come here?" asked Nagumo, changing the topic.

"Are they suspicious that the school's treatment is too good, so they're verifying with the Student Council?"

The idea made sense.

'The school provides free accommodation, 100,000 yen living expenses,' thought Nagumo. 'Like a dream, they must want to check if it's true.'

'Is the living expense for next month enough? How to get it?' thought Nagumo.

"This year's classes are different from before," said Horikita Manabu, giving a high evaluation, but not answering Nagumo.

"Really?" said Nagumo. "That girl is quite cute."

"Surprising they came to the Student Council on the second day."

"That quick reaction is funny," said Nagumo.

Nagumo, last year's new student representative, only realized the school's uniqueness after a week, understanding its essence within half a month.

He explained the class rules, but no one listened. After the first month, students knew he was right.

He built prestige, led his class to defeat the original Class A, and now held Class A in the second year.

That was his experience.

"When you return, verify this," said Horikita Manabu, taking out an SD card. "There's a report that electronics store staff secretly recorded."

"This is the evidence."

"If true, submit it to the school."

Koudo Ikusei High School's Student Council had great autonomy, organizing entrance and graduation ceremonies without school interference. This was strong decentralization.

But special cases were submitted to the school.

Horikita Manabu's words indicated the school might follow up on student reports.

"Who reported?" asked Nagumo.

"The one you just met," said Horikita Manabu, not mentioning names.

Nagumo nodded.

He had planned to spend 100,000 points to print the first-year students' name list.

'Students with such instincts and actions deserve attention,' thought Nagumo.
