I returned back to India, and the country was made aware that India almost got UNSC permanent seat, if not for UK Veto-ing.
India managed to block Pakistan from entering into Pakistan altogether, but in the vote again, India didn't get the 2/3rd majority votes, and ROC also veto-ed.
That's why, India has gotten out of UN. India will not adhere to rules imposed on it.
The country was obviously not happy. Negativity towards British increased once again, and negativity towards China also came into existence.
After resting for the night, I was about to have a meeting with the main ministers.
Now that I have thought a lot about it, while not getting UNSC permanent seat is bad, it is not that bad due to the opportunities it has presented.
As the first PM of India, my main job is to ensure stability for future.
Meaning, erasing the threat of Pakistan and China, and an excuse to capture the islands in Indian Ocean that are under British control, like Maldives, Mauritius, and the islands which would later come under British Indian Ocean territories, where US military base will be built.
That can't be allowed. The Seuz Canal crisis is the perfect opportunity for providing them Freedom.
Moreover, the UN designated ocean and sea territories(in the future), is too small for India. Territorial waters being just 22 km, and Exclusive Economic Zone just 370 km.
The territorial water should be expanded atleast 200km, and exclusive economic zones to atleast 1000 km.
It's necessary to control Indian Ocean, and ensure that oil exporting Islamic countries don't have too much leverage over India. We should be able to block their exports eastwards if they try anything.
And perhaps we ourselves will find oil in the ocean? I remember some was discovered near Andaman...
But to catch Britain off-guard and not install major military establishments on those islands, we have to wait and not show any signs.
And, ROC using Veto against India gave us an excuse to support Tibet.
China only shares a small border North Eastern tip. Tibet is a perfect buffer state.
Moreover, Tibet shares more cultural heritage with India than with China.
I was always going to support Tibet to keep the buffer state. Afterall, no matter which Chinese leader came, they always started border conflicts, not just with India, but everyone.
Instead of trying hard to be friends, its better to keep it at a distance.
If ROC didn't veto India, it would have been hard to justify support to Tibet. Afterall, not many countries support its independence. This way, ROC is seen as an agressor. And once PRC comes in power, it would have to try to please India into removing recognition of Tibet, though it will inevitably lead to it invading Tibet anyway.
Hmm... alongside diplomacy, a strong military is needed. Actually, military is more important since having words without a bigger stick will never work.
The ministers arrived, and the meeting started.
The first one to raise his voice against the decision to leave UN was the Railway Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
"Krishna ji, exiting from United Nations is a bad move. We are appearing in the world as a spoiled and arrogant nation, demanding a position in such forceful ways."
"Look, between what appears, and what is the actuality, the actuality matters more. We carried both World Wars with our people and our natural resources. And we are the second most populated country in the world.
There is no reason for us to not be a permanent member with Veto power. You saw firsthand its power. How UK used it to suppress us.
If we remained in UN without Veto power, there would have been many outrageous and discriminatory international laws and policies brought against us.
We had to rely on USSR to block Pakistan from entering the organisation. And it wasn't for free. We can't keep relying on other countries like that.
It was a necessary step.
And its not like UN is a final international organisation. It was formed just two years ago. Who knows if it will continue existing or crumble like the League of Nations?
I am thinking of forming an Asian-African international organisation as a way to deflect UN, i.e. North dominance."
Making Tibet as a member in this organisation, along with Indonesia (which is currently at war with Netherlands trying to take control again), and future important countries like Niger, the two Congos, Botswana...
Afterall, Niger for Uranium, Congos for literally all sorts of natural resources that if utilised correctly, could easily become the wealthiest country, and Botswana for diamond.
A minister asked, "Why not an alternate UN organisation itself instead of just Asia and Africa?"
"It will mean that we are challenging the world order itself. We don't have the capability. Making both US and USSR against us is a bad thing, as they are going to be two of our biggest business partners."
Everyone accepted that.
Sardar Patel advised me, "Include Tibet as a member and officially recognise its sovereignty. Whether its the nationalists or communists, they are claiming our land. We can't let China have a big border with us."
"I was thinking about the same."
Nehru asked me a question, which made me frown.
"Azad ji told me that Islamic countries were asking India for support of Palestine and opposing Israel. We should have agreed to that instead of saying that we are neutral on the matter. We would have gotten more votes in UN."
Throughout the post-independence history of India, West Asian countries had a very huge influence in India. And definitely not a good one.
Increase of child marriage and bride selling, especially from Kerala, exporting extremism and terrorism, and always supporting Pakistan.
India would tell US and Europe that India is independent and make its own choices, like in the Russo-Ukraine war.
But one complaint from West Asian countries, and a politician from the ruling party was fired. India didn't dare to say that it is an internal matter of India.
All because of oil...
In my previous world, India supporter Palestine, but West Asian countries always supported Pakistan. Meanwhile, Israel proved time and again that it is India's biggest and most trustworthy ally. Even more so than Russia, since it had some dealings with Pakistan as well as the suspicion of Lal Bahadur Shastri's assassination in Tashkent.
But, India is in no position to openly support Israel right now. Because...
OIL!
So its best to remain neutral and not make any comment. Just say that it is an Israel-Arab matter, and India wouldn't interfere.
But, that's not why I was frowning.
Why did Maulana Azad, a foreign ministry diplomat, tell the conversations he had with those countries to Nehru? Who is just a Railway minister which is a purely internal ministery?
Ah! I forgot a major thing I have to fix! Unrelated people, members of opposition, a lot of them would talk to foreign diplomats despite holding no power... The opposition leader was quite known in it.
Didn't Bangladesh Coup in 2024 happen this way? USA talked with BNP, and that terrorist group, and coup happened later? With a USA puppet installed as the dictator?
"This is a grave matter, everyone! Nehru ji, don't overstep your boundaries! How are you so unprofessional that you got information through unofficial channels, by gossip!?
Maulana Azad will be fired for spreading sensitive information. And I am giving you a warning. Don't talk to others and try to fish for information."
"But we deserve to know-"
"No you don't. Not everything is meant to be shared. There is something called sensitive information.
If you are told things about Army, wouldn't it spread and eventually Pakistan will also get to know about that!?
We will be as transparent as we can. But not share state secrets.
Not that our stance on Israel-Palestine conflict will be a state secret, but everyone would be informed through official channels.
From today onwards, no one is allowed to talk to any foreign media, diplomats, or say anything about India's matters in a foreign country without permission from foreign ministry.
And leaking any sort of officially information will lead to
And it doesn't just extend to ministers, but every person of power."
