Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : The next step

Yuto Falls Deeper into Reina's Web

Days turned into weeks, and Yuto's world revolved around Reina.

At first, it felt like he had made the right choice. Reina was always by his side, smiling, laughing, making him feel special.

But little by little, things began to change.

Reina became possessive. She dictated who he could talk to, where he could sit, and what he should do.

Whenever Yuto hesitated, she pouted playfully—but her eyes held an unsettling sharpness.

"Yuto, you're mine now, right?" she would say. "So why do you need anyone else?"

Yuto would nod, pushing aside the small voice in his head telling him something was wrong.

Manipulation Turns to Control

Reina's kindness came with a price.

She made him carry her books.

She made him do her homework.

She made him skip meals to fetch things for her.

And if he ever protested, even slightly—

"Oh, so you're just like Kaido, huh? A liar. A traitor."

Those words froze Yuto every time.

Kaido…

Yuto would lower his head. "I'm sorry, Reina."

And she would smile. "Good. Now go buy me a drink."

Public Humiliation

It started with small insults.

"Yuto, you're so clumsy."

"Why are you so slow?"

"No wonder Kaido got tired of you."

Her followers laughed, and Yuto laughed along with them—even when it stung.

Then, one afternoon in the cafeteria, Yuto accidentally knocked over his drink.

The liquid spilled across Reina's clothes.

The entire room went silent.

Reina's eyes darkened.

"Are you serious, Yuto?" she hissed, her voice cutting through the air. "You're so useless."

Yuto scrambled for napkins, his hands shaking. "I-I'm sorry, Reina!"

Reina smacked his hand away.

"Don't bother. You can't even clean up after yourself. What good are you?"

Laughter erupted around them.

Yuto's face burned with shame.

And Reina?

She simply smiled and walked away—leaving him behind.

Kaido & Mei's Attempt

Yuto sat on a bench near the school courtyard, staring at the ground.

He felt empty.

Everything felt wrong, but he didn't know why.

That's when he heard a soft voice.

"Yuto…"

He looked up.

Mei.

The shy girl stood there, clutching her books tightly against her chest. She looked nervous, her gaze flickering between him and the ground.

"Will you… come for group study?" she asked quietly.

Yuto blinked.

Group study? He used to go all the time—with Kaido.

His eyes shifted slightly, and that's when he saw him.

Kaido stood nearby, his hands in his pockets, staring off into the distance.

Not looking at him. Not acknowledging him.

Yuto's throat tightened.

"Kaido… won't even talk to me anymore."

He turned back to Mei, forcing a small smile. "I… I don't think I can."

Mei looked disappointed but nodded slowly.

"Okay… I understand."

She walked away, her figure small and fragile.

Yuto felt something crack inside him.

But then—

A voice called his name.

"Yuto! We're leaving!"

Reina.

She stood at the school gate, arms crossed, waiting.

Yuto quickly shook off the feeling and ran toward her.

Mei and Kaido watched him go.

And Kaido?

For the first time, he looked directly at Yuto.

But Yuto was already too far gone to notice.
