Chapter 8 - [8] Jackpot Gold Drop!

"The key to this jutsu is compressing a large amount of chakra instantly into the form of a fire dragon," Takuya explained while demonstrating the technique to Shisui.

Having recently mastered chakra shape transformation to a proficient level, Takuya also took the opportunity to explain many of the technical aspects behind it.

"I think I get the gist of it now," Shisui nodded, ready to give it a try.

With a flurry of hand seals, Shisui summoned his chakra and shaped it rapidly.

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"

A one-meter-long fire dragon shot from his mouth into the sky, spun once, and plunged into the river.

Clap, clap.

Takuya clapped, smiling. "I thought you'd need a few tries to get it right, but clearly I underestimated your talent."

And he genuinely meant it. No Sharingan for visual copying, no repetition, and yet Shisui had just pulled off a B-rank fire technique on his first go. That's the weight of a double-S potential.

"It's only thanks to your excellent teaching, sensei," Shisui replied humbly.

He didn't deny that he learned fast, but Takuya had truly put in the effort—never withholding information, clearly explaining and slowing down the seals during every demo except the first one where he showed off with a single hand seal.

"And I wouldn't say I've mastered it just yet," Shisui added. "I can use the jutsu, sure, but compared to your version—the size, the number of dragons—there's still a huge gap."

"In that case, I'll show you a few more examples of what 'mastery' looks like," Takuya said, pleased with Shisui's humble attitude and dedication.

Every day, he could see the chakra on his status screen rising—proof that Shisui was grinding hard even outside lessons.

Time flew as they trained, and by the time Shisui noticed how bright his jutsu was against the darkness, he realized night had already fallen.

Is… is Hoshino-sensei's calm voice some kind of genjutsu? How else could time pass so fast? he wondered.

"Time for me to head back," Shisui said, bowing slightly.

"I've also written up a guide based on my experience with chakra shape transformation. Take it home and study," Takuya said, handing over a small booklet.

Shisui hesitated for a second, then bowed again and accepted it.

He didn't say much, but deep down his respect for Takuya grew even further. In just four days of knowing each other, Takuya had always gone all-out—no secrets, no holding back. He taught the most important things first, like a true mentor.

Watching Shisui walk away, Takuya smiled.

My golden goose delivers again.

『You gave your disciple a Chakra Shape Transformation Training Manual. Due to the disciple's deep gratitude, REWARD CRIT TRIGGERED. You have received: Wind Style – Gale Palm (Proficient)』

A rush of memories filled Takuya's mind—techniques, applications, chakra flow patterns—all related to Gale Palm. Along with it came fundamental knowledge of Wind chakra nature.

Takuya was thrilled. Gale Palm was a top-tier wind technique—wide area, high destructive power, and it could synergize with his fire techniques for elemental combos.

And the wind affinity would also come in handy for his Rasengan development, especially toward crafting the Rasenshuriken.

Originally, he'd been planning to focus on the fire version of Rasengan, but now that he had wind, Rasenshuriken was on the table.

After days of experimenting, Takuya had begun to piece together the mechanics of the disciple return-reward system.

Two factors determined the rewards: the quality of the gift and how much the disciple appreciated it. The latter carried more weight.

On day two, he gave Shisui some simple snacks—the system gave him ten shuriken.

On day three, he personally cooked something and gave it to Shisui—this time he got 50 chakra points.

Same gift category (food), but the second time had more heart—thus a better reward.

Now that he understood the mechanics, Takuya was already planning for a massive bonus. Tomorrow, he was going to sneak a look at Shisui's school profile and find out his birthday.

Day Five of the Naruto World

Takuya had only one scheduled class, but another teacher from the third year needed a substitute. Naturally, Takuya jumped at the opportunity.

Two classes later, he had received one reward of +20 chakra and another for Fire Style: Great Fireball.

It was the first time he'd been given a jutsu he already knew—but to his pleasant surprise, duplicates simply increased the mastery level.

If this were a game, he'd now have something like "+1 Great Fireball" or "Great Fireball with enhanced damage."

"Hoshino-sensei, you're too easygoing," Ayaka Ueda said, concerned. "If you keep this up, other teachers will keep asking you to cover for them."

That sounds amazing, Takuya thought. More free EXP.

"We're all colleagues, and I enjoy teaching," he replied sincerely.

Ayaka was left speechless. Looking at his expression, she could tell he genuinely meant it.

Does someone this kind really exist? Subbing without pay—it's basically free labor.

Weekend

Just like back in his old world, school ran Monday through Friday with weekends off.

But today was no day for rest.

As promised, Takuya gathered Obito and Might Guy at 8 a.m. sharp for their "special training" at the river near the southern forest.

"Why do we have to wake up so early on a day off…" Obito groaned, face-planted on the desk Takuya had set up for him.

"I think it's fine," said Guy, scratching his head, unable to relate.

Takuya handed each of them a customized test paper, tailored to their current curriculum. After all, they'd only been in class for five days—it wouldn't make sense to throw full-blown exam questions at them yet.

His goal wasn't perfection—it was to help them pass. So he focused on easier questions that could net enough points for a passing grade.

"Sensei, what's all this…?" Obito asked, confused.

Right then, Shisui arrived, having been called over the night before.

He saw Obito and Guy struggling over the papers, and his expression turned curious.

"They're fourth-year students. I'm helping them with academics. Go ahead and train, don't mind us," Takuya said.

Truthfully, he had called Shisui here deliberately. He wanted to set up a contrast—the older students suffering through boring drills, while the younger Shisui trained advanced jutsu.

It would be... an enlightening scene.
