Kai's POV
Running through the woods, I tried to push the picture of Damien's hands all over her body to the back of my head. Her answer when I had asked that question wasn't right at all and what did I do? I gave her up just because I was being a coward.
What if she was badly hurt?! I couldn't even help her when I was the cause of her pain and that was very little compared to what would happen I'd we didn't observe the distance meant for us. I would be the end of her or vice versa.
"Hey," Damien's stoic voice echoed through the woods. The rush of air as a result of his speed felt harsher than normal and I couldn't help but wonder if the night was only bad on my side.
"Quit the game, Damien. You wanted her and now you have her, so leave me alone," I warned when we finally came to a stop.
"Oh, really? But the fun just begun and honestly speaking I didn't think that I was going to give you a chance tonight," he bragged, walking in circles around me.
"You had your way tonight because there was no other way out," I reminded him through gritted teeth.
"There could be though, except you might just be the cursed coward. It doesn't matter anymore though. I mean, you already traded her for your sanity, right?"
"Damien," I growled.
"Kai," he dragged my name, clearing enjoying everything about the night.
"Think about it, would you?"
He said in a calmer tone, making me take a little break. For the first time, I tried to think outside the box. I tried to think of this differently and perhaps the outcome of it was something the human had over us. Hope.
"She could help me break the curse?"
"How would you know that now that she belongs to me?" he asked mockingly.
"If there's a way I'd surely find out," I challenged him.
He chuckled darkly, pushing me to the edge even more. He withdrew his steps from me, turning his back while searching the woods.
"Do you really think that I'd let that happen?"
"I don't need to get your consent. She'll know enough to decide for herself,"
"Your sense of humour is quite enjoyable, Kai. You just lost her to me and you're still confident that after spending time with me, she'd still pick you in the end. That's fun."
"Why do you bring it up if you're not scared of the reality already? We can tell that she is different. She didn't respond to your action earlier after you drank from her. She didn't pick you when she had the chance to. She has already proven that she has the power of self-will stronger than any other external influence and I bet you, you'd be so disappointed when the time comes," I said calmly.
Perhaps, I had hit him where it hurt him most and his rage was at its boiling point. I couldn't help but smirk at him. The truth about our existence and how far we've come was never completely pleasant to any creature. There was always a compromise and something to break you.
While I haven't figured everything out yet, I was still sure that the game would turn at some point, even though it meant my fall.
"Watch your mouth, Kai," he warned, but unfortunately, it was my turn to chuckle.
He couldn't take it though, so he launched an attack without warning, yanking me to a tree trunk.
"That would be a final warning."
"Don't you worry that that is too little for a vampire as strong as you are?" I mocked him further.
The shade of his eyes darkened and before I knew it, his fists were flying here and there. I defended every attack, and while he didn't know it, I used it to distract myself from everything going on in my head. He kept attacking while I kept defending until a scent hit us.
I used the opportunity to hit his side, making him fall to the ground. However, when he looked up at me, he tried to say something with his eyes, something a little bit strange.
"I'm guessing you have a visitor already," Damien muttered to himself before disappearing into the night.
The scent became stronger with time and though it was hard to decipher what exactly it was, I could still come up with possible answers. I looked around to know if I'd see anything, but my eyes fell on Elaine who was walking as though she was being hypnotised.
Without thinking, I ran towards her. Her eyes were closed, her body was colder and… she didn't seem to be awake. She seemed to be controlled by something, or rather, someone.
"Elaine?" I called her carefully while laying her on the floor.
She wasn't responding to anything I was doing to her, not even in the slightest way, so I just rubbed her feet and exchanged it for her palms at intervals. I didn't notice it but as soon as the scent started to fade, she began to respond.
She turned her head to the left side, revealing a fresh wound that still had blood spilling from it. I needed nobody to tell me it was what I did. I couldn't bear it when she winced in pain after I tried to touch it. It only reminded me of how much of a monster I was and how I'd ruin everything if I remained close to her.
"Please, don't go," her lips parted to say the words slowly as if she were dreaming about what she was saying.
"Hey, Elaine. Can you here me?"
"Kai," she kept breathing out, "Kai, please don't leave me," I watched as she pleaded with a tear falling from her eyes.
She was so beautiful, so delicate, she didn't deserved to be here, in this mess and somehow, I was going to protect her in all the ways that I can.
"Kai?" She murmured.
I didn't let her go through with it when she tried to call me again. I pressed my lips against hers, hoping that whatever dragged me to her would drag her back to me.
Just as I was about to give up, she responded with her small palm wrapped around my neck. She pulled me into her even harder than I expected and I let her.
It happened in a divine pace. Her, now on top of me, tracing the bare skin of my chest with her finger while kissing me passionately. I had wanted to pull away and ask what happened, but this moment seemed to be like one of moments that I'd give my life to keep or experience again.
I held her when she lost her stamina trying to reach for my dick, and that was the moment I got to look deeper into her eyes.
"Are you okay?" I asked her, needing only genuine answers.
"I'm fine. My head just hurts and it's thanks to you." She said plainly.
"I'm sorry about that," I began but she placed her index finger against my lips.
"Save your apologies, Kai. I want revenge for your actions and that," she ripped her gown off her body exposing her bare body on top of me,"is going to be just the way I want it to be."
"But, Elaine," I sounded worried and scared that she was not in her right state of mind. She seemed to be under the control of some supernatural just a few moments ago and I couldn't risk her doing what she'd regret later on.
"Shhhh…" she bit her bottom lips seductively, "The only person to give the order is me."
With that, she crawled down to get herself in between my legs. She wrapped her fingers around my dick, stroking it deliberately before choosing to bury it somewhere at the back of her throat. She didn't mind that we were in the middle of the woods or that anything can happen.
