Elaine's POV
For the past two weeks, everything had seemed normal in Raven Hollow. I hadn't gone out into the woods at night, so I couldn't say much about the deaths. However, something felt very strange. The killings had drastically reduced since the last time I caught Kai in his killer mood.
"How are you, little one?" the old woman greeted with a broad smile as she entered my room.
I stood from the seat in front of the small wooden desk to give her a hug. I was so glad about how far we had come with each other. This place was really lonely, and now I had someone to keep me company anytime, any day.
"I'm fine..." I trailed off, showing her the book I was trying to study before she came in. "I've been trying to do my research," I sang, though not out of excitement.
The smile on her face faded for a moment, but she quickly put it back on. Pulling out a bag I hadn't noticed she was hiding behind her back, she cleared her throat.
"So, this is for our plan today," she announced while struggling to tear the bag open. "I don't know much about the fashion world of the present age, but I can tell that this here is something every man would bow to." She smiled at me proudly, as though she had just won the lottery.
The plan came about after our walk in the woods the last time. She had refused to say more about the green-eyed figure, for whatever reason linked to a sacred promise of hers. However, to make up for that, she decided to help me get Damien to talk. The plan was to seduce Damien and maybe get him drunk, but I wasn't sure I still felt like going through with it.
Not wanting to disappoint her after her sincere effort and hard work, I took the black lace lingerie set from her, holding it close to my chest. They were pretty enough for someone like... Kai, a voice in my head whispered.
"What's wrong? You're not as happy as I am for you," she asked, squinting her eyes in worry, pulling me from my thoughts.
"I'm so sorry," I cleared my throat, laughing at myself in embarrassment. There was no way in the world I was going to tell her about the dirty thoughts that had crossed my mind.
"What?" This time, she was starting to get annoyed.
"I promise, it's beautiful and elegant," I said, adding the last part after the thought of Damien—or Kai—shredding the lingerie just to have access to my throbbing body.
"You spoiled thing," Cordelia joked, making herself comfortable on the bed. "When do you plan on meeting him?"
"I don't have his number, or else I would have called. So, I'll just wait and see if he shows up today," I shrugged.
"That sounds like a very smart plan, don't you think?" she asked sarcastically. "Listen, we do have gadgets here because some of them want to blend into the human world, so make sure you find a way to reach him next time."
"I actually don't have a phone. I lost it the night I arrived in Raven Hollow," I confessed.
"Just follow me downstairs."
With that, she called him using the landline, and to my surprise, he actually answered. Maybe he was shocked to hear my voice, which made him respond hesitantly. Regardless, that was it—he agreed to come over in the evening.
"I hope you find genuine answers tonight," Cordelia said, still wearing a wide grin.
I thanked her and went to prepare for the night. It was close already, and I just had a feeling it was going to be a long one. I wrote a list of things I wanted to achieve tonight, and meeting Kai was on that list, even though I didn't know how possible that would be.
I fixed my robe properly when a knock came at the door. Taking a deep breath, I reached for the doorknob and finally opened it.
"Hey," I smiled. "Good evening."
"You look so adorable in that thing," he said, pointing at my robe while eyeing my bare legs seductively.
"You can come in if you don't mind."
I was already exhausted by how the night was going. My plan to get answers out of him was proving to be futile with each passing second. Maybe I should have known that I was only going to steal his focus with the plan, rather than actually getting him to talk.
"To cut a long story short, Kai is an unfortunate, cursed Lycan, struggling desperately to set himself free." His words struck me like a bolt to the chest.
"Cursed?" I echoed in shock.
"Yes. Cursed." He pulled me toward him by the belt of my robe, untying it in the process. "Now, I've had enough of you talking," he murmured, tracing a finger down my exposed cleavage. "It's time for you to scream."
Just as it played out in my head, he pushed me onto the bed, shredding the thin fabric before bending to caress my breast and suck the other one. As involuntary as the movements of my limbs were, I found my hand pushing his head downward to my navel and finally to my favorite spot between my legs. I wrapped my legs around his neck, arching my waist so that my dripping pussy would touch his mouth.
"Please," I begged after a while of having him torture me with silence and no movement from him.
"It's actually pretty when you beg, Elaine," he said in a husky tone, pushing me further to the edge. His lips finally licked me clean while his sharp fangs grazed over the tender skin of my clit, making me shudder.
I deeply felt bad, and the pain in my chest for agreeing to get fucked by Damien—even after hearing what Kai was going through—haunted me. I couldn't stop him, though. However, I could swear that my mind drifted off at some point, leaving my body to do as it pleased.
It took his cum splashing onto my lower belly for me to realize how far we had actually gone. He withdrew, not too impressed by my mood swing. I was going to make it up to him by offering myself willingly this time, but he declined.
"It's not like I was expecting you to be fully present after I told you what happened with Kai," he began, taking me by surprise.
"You're not mad?"
"Listen here, Elaine. Something happens each time you get fucked by creatures like us. You become subconsciously connected to them in ways you, at this point, cannot control in any way. That explains why I haven't sunk my fangs into your neck as revenge yet," he explained while putting his clothes on.
"If that's the case, then I'd like to ask for a favor," I blurted out.
"Proceed, as long as it has nothing to do with Kai—"
"Please," I begged, rushing to stand in front of him.
He didn't respond at first, and the look in his eyes didn't hide the jealousy or anger he felt. It didn't make me stop, though. I kept pleading with him until I promised not to have sex with Kai when he showed up.
That seemed to melt him in a way since he finally agreed to send for him. I also muttered something I didn't quite understand before he shut the door on his way out.
Clapping and dancing in victory, I went to where I had written down all the things I wanted to achieve today. I marked all of them as accomplished before picking up my robe to wear.
A knock came way too fast, as if Kai had already been waiting outside all this time.
"Are you not a little too fast for a Lycan?" I asked with a genuine smile while opening the door wider for him to come in.
He smirked, eyeing the neon pink robe.
"Am I?" he asked back, raising his left brow.
"Well…" I sang excitedly while walking to my window, "I'm glad you showed up."
I felt him behind me, pulling me close by the waist as he murmured near my ear.
"I'm even more glad that I showed up."
As I turned to face him, my eyes accidentally landed on someone else.
Kai?
How was that even possible? I turned back to him, but the Kai standing in front of me was already enjoying the confusion plastered all over my face.
"This is not possible," I muttered, stepping away from him, making him chuckle.
"You should know better, Elaine. A Lycan like cursed Kai can't outrun a Fae like me—Luca."
With that, he shifted into his true form, confirming Cordelia's words—he could take any form he wanted. My attempts to scream were already too late. He held me until Kai showed up.
The last thing I could remember after that was Kai's face twitching with bloodshot rage and the sound of Luca's voice greeting him. After that, it felt like I had just been snatched out of Earth's surface.
There was no motel, no Kai, no Damien… nothing at all.
