*Yohan's POV*
I saw the zombies quickly entering through the entrance, but they didn't notice us since we were hiding behind a room. We were temporarily leaving, and we had a path to take to get out. We stopped for a moment when we saw there were still zombies outside the unit.
Even if we went back, we wouldn't be able to do anything. Now that one of our companions was unconscious, we had two kids with us - Raze and Kelvin. I wondered if my classmates were safe.
"Get in," the man with the bow said suddenly. Wait, a car? Wasn't this the car that was coming earlier? That means they were the ones who...
"Hurry up," he said emotionlessly. I was surprised by how quickly he changed his tone. I didn't say anything else and quickly got into the back with the two kids, the unconscious man's body, and Raze. As I got in, the man with the bow handed over his bow and then went to the front with Kelvin.
*Kelvin's POV* (time, 11:07 o'clock)
Kyro was driving emotionlessly now. He had changed so much since I last saw him. Xyrus too. I wondered what happened to Jacob. Should I ask Kyro?
"Kyro, what about Jacob—" I called out, and he responded quickly.
"They're gone," he said emotionlessly, shocking me. They're gone? The words kept repeating in my mind. Could it be...
"Kelvin," Kyro called out my name softly.
I turned to him silently, and he asked, "How did you survive?" in a serious tone. I fell silent.
"Is everything okay, Kelvin?" he asked again.
"Nothing's wrong," I replied briefly. Then, I took a deep breath and continued.
"When Krypton was fighting, I received a message that the weapon I ordered had arrived. I quickly left to get it from Unit A and returned immediately. But when I got back to the fight, I saw many bodies lying on the ground near Club A. At that moment, only Krypton was left there. I had only one weapon, a potion that could make someone invisible. It was hard for me to choose who to use it on until I saw the big sphere coming out of the dust. It looked at me, so I used the potion on myself. While I was invisible, I saw what happened to Krypton."
After I finished telling him, he didn't say anything else. I closed my mouth and didn't ask any more questions. I could see the deep sadness in him.
Why did things turn out like this? We used to be normal students, and now I don't know what's going on. Will we survive this? What will we face next? Will anyone else die? It's exhausting and scary. I just hope that even in this situation, things will go back to normal.
The car suddenly stopped, and I was surprised. I got out and looked around. Wait, this is a school? What school is this?
"We'll rest here for now. It's not safe to travel at night," Kyro said softly, followed by Yohan getting out from the back.
"Let's go, let's rest," he said and started walking. We just followed him.
Wait, Hong-yan Academy? Isn't this the school where they make machines, robots, and stuff for the festival? Could it be...
A fast zombie came out from the academy's door, and Kyro bravely faced it. He pressed a part of his bow, and it turned into a sharp sword with a dazzling light. The sword became our light source in the dark hallway.
Like in our school, there were many bodies lying around, and equipment was damaged. But what surprised me was why Kyro chose to rest here, which seemed more dangerous than the Emergency Unit.
"Pstt..." I heard a woman's hissing sound from a room we passed by. Wait, are there still people here?
I turned to see who was calling out. When I reached the room, I saw students looking at me. I was overjoyed to see them, and I couldn't help but shout out loud.
"Kyro!!!" I called out his name, and Kyro and the others quickly turned to me. The woman who hissed earlier grabbed me, and the lights suddenly turned on. Spheres and zombies emerged from all directions. I was shocked.
*Yohan's POV (2 minutes earlier)*
This place is scary. Are we sure it's safe? This guy is heavy. How long do I have to carry him?
"Just a minute," the man with the sword-bow said seriously. We stopped for a moment and watched what he was doing. He walked slowly, checking something.
"Kyro!!!" someone shouted from behind. We quickly turned around, and I was shocked to see someone pulling Kelvin away, followed by the lights turning on.
"RUN!!!" the man in front shouted, and purple spheres and zombies emerged from all corners of the room. We quickly ran away. The field we were facing earlier was now filled with many things. As we were about to turn, the man with the sword-bow turned right, and we turned left.
We couldn't go back because the zombies blocked the middle path. I didn't say anything and just ran with the little girl and the unconscious guy. We entered a dark room with nothing visible. We sat down quietly, and I realized someone was with us in the room. The girl was crying with her mouth covered. What should I do now? Where's Raze?
*Ace's POV*
We turned right. What's happening? What are those purple things?
We entered a dark classroom, and the man who saved us closed the door softly and turned on the light. When the light turned on, we saw wounded students with their backs turned, similar to the students who attacked us with Akari.
When the light turned on, some students signaled to turn it off. There were still many students alive in this school. Luckily, the zombies didn't see the brief light.
When the light turned off, we moved towards the students who signaled earlier.
"How did you get here?" a bespectacled guy asked. "What are you doing?" the man who saved us asked.
"Can I answer first?" the bespectacled guy said, taking a deep breath.
"I want to know something about this school. Do you know anything?" the man who saved us asked seriously.
"Yes, all this happened when an experiment in the laboratory was broken. The tested subjects escaped, including the spheres, zombies, and robots," the bespectacled guy explained.
"Do you know how to fix this?" Raze asked, interested.
"Yes, we passed by the science laboratory before the incident. I heard people talking inside, saying that someone's blood could change the virus. I don't know who they were referring to," the bespectacled guy replied.
After that, the man who saved us stood up and went somewhere. I followed him with my eyes, and when he stopped, the lights in the room turned on.
"WHY DID YOU TURN ON THE LIGHTS?!" the man in front of us shouted. Now that it was bright, I could see the whole room, including three or four zombies. They quickly fell due to the bow's arrows.
I followed the source of the arrows and saw the man facing us, holding his bow. The zombies fell, and I stood up to approach him. Raze followed me, and the students came out. Based on my count, there were six students left.
"Finally," one of the guys with blood on his clothes said.
"Are they weak to darkness?" the man with the bow asked seriously.
"Yes, I heard that during the festival, the field will be dark. Maybe that's why they're weak to darkness, since the survivors of the morning games will be safe at night," the bespectacled guy explained.
I looked at Kiro, and his eyes showed seriousness. What is he planning?
"Stay away from him," one of the guys said suddenly, pointing at the man with the bow. I turned to see and was shocked to see him pointing at Kiro.
"He's been bitten," he added. I looked at Kiro's foot and saw the bite. I stepped back.
"He's not a zombie!" Raze shouted from behind me.
"When did that happen?" the fat guy asked.
"Can you please be quiet? He saved us," one of the guys said.
"He just killed those zombies to eat us," the fat guy added.
"I was bitten when we were at Ganter University," Kiro said emotionlessly.
"It's true that I was bitten, but I don't know why I didn't change," he explained.
"Can I see the bite?" a new voice asked. A woman from their group walked towards us slowly.
"Yes," Kiro replied briefly. The woman approached him and examined the bite, then cut a piece of cloth from her skirt and covered the wound.
"He's not infected," she said emotionlessly, standing up. After that, three of the remaining five students approached us, including the bespectacled guy, a short-haired woman, and a blonde woman. The fat guy and the guy who said "Finally" stayed away.
"Hmm?" the woman who bandaged Kiro's wound said, looking at the two who stayed away.
"We still won't join you!"
