*Kyro's POV*
I urged Kelvin to leave with us, and we quickly went to Xyrus. We were on our way out of the school, in the middle of the field, when Kelvin stopped and spoke up.
"You guys go ahead," he said softly. I turned around, shocked to see him standing still.
"WE'RE NOT LEAVING WITHOUT YOU," I replied angrily. He looked down, and I saw him nod. He spoke again.
"Kyro, I'm glad we're friends," he said emotionlessly. I put Xyrus down and spoke up again.
"What are you talking about? Get up, we don't have time," I said, my voice shaking.
"Yes, we don't have time. So, you guys go," he said quickly, and a purple tentacle pierced his body.
"Take care, Kyro. Thanks." I froze, and tears fell from my eyes. K-Kelvin. I slowly approached him, feeling that the spheres had sensed my presence.
Kelvin...
Kelvin.
"NOOOO!!!" a loud scream woke me up. I returned to normal, and I was shocked to see myself approaching Kelvin.
Behind me, five guys and a girl appeared. One of them held my bow. Xyrus's singing could be heard from behind one of them. The spheres stopped moving. Two of them quickly ran towards me and led me to where they were.
After that, Xyrus stopped singing, and we quickly ran out of the school.
"Lance, the bomb!" the guy holding my bow shouted.
"Yes, I know," Lance replied irritatedly. We continued running until we were out of the school. After that...
"Let's end this!" one of the guys, the bespectacled one, said.
"Haru, hurry up," the girl beside him said angrily.
"Wait a minute, tisoy, it's coming," Haru replied irritatedly, pressing a button on his device. Boom!!!
"Hurry up, get in the vehicle," the tallest guy among them ordered after the loud explosion.
"Ken, go with them. Take Shadi with you," the bespectacled guy holding my bow ordered. Just as Ken, Shadi, and Haru were about to get in the vehicle, a giant robot foot stepped on it. My eyes widened as I saw the vehicle crushed under the robot's foot.
"Haru..." Lance whispered, then he looked down and ran quickly towards the robot's foot, shouting.
"GET YOUR FOOT OFF!!!" The robot lifted its foot and pointed it at Lance.
"LANCEEEE!!!!" one of the other guys shouted.
"Marc, what are we going to do now!!!" the guy who shouted asked.
"Aki, I don't know either," Marc replied. Aki's eyes widened as he saw Lance get crushed by the robot that had stepped on his friends' vehicle. After that, loud noises were heard. More robots appeared.
"Is this the end for us?" Aki asked, looking at the approaching robots.
"Yes, Aki," his friend replied. I looked around. From where I stood, I could see the vehicle we had been in earlier.
"There's a vehicle over there," I said, pointing in one direction. "Let's go, hurry up," Aki said quickly, starting to run. We were about to reach the vehicle when it got stepped on by another robot's foot. Everyone stopped running.
"I'm giving up," Aki said. He stopped for a moment, and a giant robot's foot suddenly passed by where he was standing.
"AKIIIII!!!!" I shouted loudly. Then, I saw Marc quickly run and grab Aki from where he was.
"M-Marc..." Aki stammered, sitting with his back to Marc.
"MARCCCCC!!!" he shouted loudly when he saw the blood flowing in front of him. I quickly ran and grabbed Aki from his seat, speaking up.
"Aki, let's get out of here," I said, leading him to where I left Xyrus. But as we were going back, a giant robot's foot appeared and stepped on the spot where I left Xyrus.
"XYRUSSSSSSS!!!! NOOOO!!!"
After that incident, military vehicles arrived, and Aki and I were rescued. They told us they came because of an alarm that the Hongyan University school was on fire.
Aki didn't speak after that, and neither did I. From teaming up to losing teammates and a terrifying incident.
Aki told me that Haru, Ken, Shadi, Lance, and Marc were his teammates. I asked about the other one, and he said his name was Lei. But he was the first to die because, according to Aki, he was bitten by a zombie while saving the six of them.
I told him about my team: Krypton, Carmella, Jacob, Xyrus, Kelvin, and Shy. I thought I was the only one left out of the seven of us, but I didn't expect to see Shy in the rescue unit. She survived when we left her at the school where the zombies originated.
That's good, at least. But Krypton and the others didn't make it. That's probably what my dream meant. I wish I had stopped them from joining the game or stopped Krypton from looking for teammates.
It all started with a festival, and it ended like this. It's just too much. Out of all of us, only Aki and I are left.
