Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: My Gambler System Is Definitely Problematic

August 2nd, Year 20 of the Hidden Leaf. Sunny.

The Senju and Uchiha clans—once the twin pillars that built the Hidden Leaf Village, pioneered the one-country-one-village system, and ended the Warring States Era to usher in a brief peace—had long since lost their former glory.

Especially the once-mighty Senju Clan.

The First Great Ninja War, a brutal meat grinder that seemed endless, had taken a devastating toll. In an effort to end the deadlock, Senju Tobirama, the Second Hokage and clan head, personally led a squad to the Land of Lightning to meet with the Second Raikage in hopes of forming an alliance with the Hidden Cloud. But during the ceremony, they were ambushed by the rebel duo, the Gold and Silver Brothers.

He was killed in action.

As Konoha's leading clan, the Senju had always fought at the front lines. By the end of the war, their numbers had dwindled drastically, their family line nearly extinguished. It was only a matter of time before they faded completely from the stage of history.

Now, the once-bustling Senju compound stood eerily quiet. In the backyard of its largest estate, a young girl of about ten sat silently on the veranda, her gaze lowered in quiet contemplation.

Her golden hair was tied into a simple ponytail. She wore a pink-and-white kimono tailored to her frame, her face delicate and charming, and her figure—particularly her chest—more developed than girls her age. At the moment, she simply stared at the garden pond.

A single leaf floated down with the breeze, landing on the water's surface, sending ripples across its still mirror.

She was Senju Tsunade, princess of the Senju Clan.

And also, an imposter—someone who had transmigrated into this world.

She didn't know much about Naruto, just a few scattered details: Naruto was shipped with Sasuke, Hashirama with Madara, that kind of thing. Ten years might not seem that long, but most of the plot details had already faded from memory.

Back then, she had tried to jot down whatever she could remember in a cryptic personal shorthand. But the usable plot information was incredibly limited. She had the general direction, sure, but the specifics were a blur.

So for her, one of the biggest golden fingers—"knowing the plot"—was basically half-useless.

After realizing she'd landed in the world of Naruto, Tsunade had fallen into a long period of depression and lost her appetite. Even if she didn't remember much of the story, she knew full well that someone like her, naive and clueless, had no chance of living peacefully in a world torn by endless wars.

After all, she wasn't the real Tsunade. While she had inherited the Senju's physical talents—massive chakra and strong vitality—her soul brought with it a different talent: being terrible at school.

When she discovered she couldn't understand how chakra extraction even worked, she despaired.

How the hell did those transmigrators go from total losers to super geniuses just by switching worlds?

Thankfully, the heavens were merciful. Not long after, her golden finger arrived: the Great Gambler System. From that moment, her life became one of "study by gambling, get strong with the system."

Well, more like "without the system, she'd be completely useless."

[Mission: The Premature Brother]

[Time until deadline: 7 days | Progress: 100%]

[Reward: 1 Gold Coin]

Tsunade looked at the floating text in front of her and scoffed.

A mission like "bringing a dumb little brother into the world ahead of schedule" was almost insultingly easy. It was just a matter of nudging her parents into doing it more often—some light manipulation and voilà. How could Senju Tsunade possibly fail at that?

The only risk had been that her mother might give birth to a little sister instead...

But clearly, that worry had been unnecessary.

Stupid system. One coin? Basically charity.

Counting the birthday bonus she got today and the one leftover from last month's mission, Tsunade now had a total of three coins. That meant she could do three small gambles, one and a half big gambles, or one high-stakes gamble.

Small gambles could yield E- to B-rank items, big ones E- to A-rank (excluding bloodlines), and high-stakes gambles had a chance at anything from E- to S-rank, including bloodline limits and forbidden jutsu.

In other words, no matter what kind of gamble, the most likely result was still E-rank trash...

Nearly a decade of gambling had left Tsunade utterly disillusioned with her luck. The legendary "Big Fat Sheep" wasn't just a nickname—it was the world mocking her. Most of the coins she earned through sweat, blood, and missions had been flushed down the drain.

Especially the high-stakes ones. Three coins in one go, and all she got were exploding tags—three or four times in a row. Not even a glimpse of a bloodline. That was a new level of despair.

You see, this damn system wasn't as simple as "kill to get stronger." You had to manually accept one of five missions that refreshed on the 2nd of every month. Complete them—through hell or high water—and you'd earn a handful of coins, never more than five.

If you didn't accept a mission, the system may as well not exist.

So over the years, she never earned more than 30 coins annually on average.

She eventually realized: aside from being her "golden finger," this system was probably designed for comedic effect.

How she envied those "System Lords" that forced their hosts to grow stronger...

Thus, she created her own gambling rules:

Small gambles bring joy, big ones hurt the soul, high-stakes are suicide.

"System, do three small gambles in a row."

Without hesitation, Tsunade stayed true to her principles and gave the command.

[Confirm: Three Small Gambles | Cost: 3 Coins?]

"Confirmed."

Having weathered every storm the system had thrown at her, Tsunade remained calm.

[Small Gamble 1: Cost: 1 Coin]

[Item: 1000 Exploding Tags | Jutsu: Thousand Years of Death | Special: None]

"Ew…"

Tsunade blinked in mild surprise. It was the first time she'd ever drawn 1000 exploding tags in one go. Those things weren't cheap—even after the war, they still cost a few hundred ryō each. Not something a casual ninja could afford.

"Choose an item."

[Exploding Tags – Generating: 3... 2...]

Tsunade, seeing her luck for the day was decent, felt a pang of regret. Maybe she should've gone for a high-stakes pull. Might've gotten that longed-for Sharingan. But it was too late. Once confirmed, the system would never take it back.

[...1 – Item Generated.]

A neat stack of exploding tags appeared before her.

[Small Gamble 2: Cost: 1 Coin]

[Item: 1982 Pepsi (1 Bottle) | Jutsu: Great Fireball | Special: None]

"Choose jutsu."

She ignored the weird item entirely.

[Detected: Host already owns Great Fireball. Beginning effect stacking: 3... 2...]

[...1 – Effect stacking complete.]

[Fire Style: Great Fireball – Level 6]

Seeing the six yellow gems next to "Great Fireball," Tsunade remembered—this jutsu had been stacked 21 times now. All six internal stars in the sixth gem were lit. The system didn't display normal stat data; only when a jutsu stacked did it show levels.

Wonder if getting seven gems could summon Shenron...

She'd once tried stacking Thousand Years of Death up to the fourth star in the seventh gem. Sadly, after failing a mission, the system made her forget the jutsu entirely—back to square one.

[Small Gamble 3: Cost: 1 Coin]

[Item: None | Jutsu: Reaper's Kiss | Special: None]

[Jutsu – Reaper's Kiss: Learning in progress, 3... 2...]

Only one option, so the system auto-selected it.

Information flooded into her mind—accompanied by bizarre, indecent images—causing Tsunade's face to flush bright red.

[...1 – Jutsu Learned.]

"WHO THE HELL DID I OFFEND?!!"

Blushing furiously, Tsunade practically screamed. But just as she was about to explode in a tirade, footsteps sounded in the distance, forcing her to sit up straight again in a dignified pose—like a philosophical beauty in a painting.

[Mission: Change of Image]

[Summary: The image of Konoha's 'Legendary Sucker' is too deeply rooted. It's time for change.]

[Objective: Change your public image in Konoha.]

[Reward: 2 Coins | Failure Penalty: Loss of Lightning Attribute]

[Progress: 9% | Time Remaining: 81 Days]

Yep, that was the current active mission.

Moments later, a maid's voice called out from outside.

"Big Sis…"

"Call me Lady Tsunade."

"Yes, Big Sis. Madam has given birth—it's a boy."

"…Mm. Got it. I'll head over soon."

After the maid left, Tsunade let out a long sigh. Changing her image wasn't going to be easy. She'd been acting like a proper lady for a whole week with no results. If she couldn't finish this mission in 80 days, she might have to throw away her dignity and streak around Konoha!

After all, if she lost her lightning affinity, how would she ever use Chidori?

She had long fantasized about that flashy move.

Thinking this, she opened the latest mission refresh.

Mission 1: Tsunade's Bride Quest

"Time to find a good man and settle down, don't you think?"

Mission 2: Following in the Sage's Footsteps

"Visit the public bath and witness adult charm!"

Mission 3: Fall of a Demi-God

"Slay the current leader of the Hidden Rain and ascend as the ninja world's apex."

Mission 4: I, Tsunade Hime, Am No Sheep – XII

"Win rate over 30%? Big whoop—go ahead and try!"

Mission 5: I Want to Be a Top Student – III

"What's the difference between not being a top student and being a useless fish?"

Seriously, compared to these, "kill to get strong" systems were basically wish-granting machines!

Tsunade's expression darkened like a storm cloud as she stared at the refreshed list.

"Bride Quest" wasn't even new, and judging by the "XII" at the end of "No Sheep," she'd already failed eleven times. And what the hell was "Following in the Sage's Footsteps"?

As for "Fall of a Demi-God," it sounded serious, but Tsunade remembered—wasn't the Hidden Rain's leader destined to be called a demi-god? If he were easy to kill, she wouldn't be stuck here brooding.

Then there was "Top Student – III." She went silent. Of course she wanted to be a top student—both in this life and the last. But effort had often proven futile.

Still, she tapped the two most doable ones: "Following in the Sage's Footsteps" and "Top Student – III." Her system didn't force her to get stronger, after all. If she didn't accept the mission, it wouldn't lift a finger to help.

[Mission: Following in the Sage's Footsteps]

[Summary: Visit the public bath and witness adult charm!]

[Objective: Imitate Jiraiya by peeping into Konoha's public bath and avoid getting caught by the Third Hokage for one day.]

[Reward: 1 Coin | Failure Penalty: Enhanced Cup Size | Duration: 1 Day]

After thinking for a moment, Tsunade accepted the mission.

"Peeping on women while being one myself shouldn't count as peeping, right?"

Although... due to personal reasons, she'd never actually bathed with other girls before.

[Mission: I Want to Be a Top Student – III]

[Summary: What's the difference between not being a top student and being a useless fish?]

[Objective: Summon your own contract animal using the Summoning Technique.]

[Reward: 1 Coin | Failure Penalty: Forget one jutsu | Duration: 30 Days]

Tsunade hesitated.

Two years ago, she failed "Top Student – II" and lost her Water Chakra Nature as punishment. But seeing that the new penalty was merely forgetting a single jutsu, she was tempted again. After all, she had plenty of useless ones.

Chakra Extraction, Clone Jutsu, Substitution, Transformation, Thousand Years of Death, Shadow Clone, Mist Servant, Four-Legged Technique, **** Tank, Earth Rising Spears, Great Fireball, Water Clone, Water Wall, Water Dragon, Hydration, Super Strength, Sexy Jutsu, Reaper's Kiss, Reaper Death Seal...

And a pile of kunai, shuriken, senbon, exploding tags, and bizarre yet useless junk. Her strongest? The S-rank forbidden jutsu Reaper Death Seal, which had made her nearly cry tears of joy—only to realize it wasn't all that practical.

This... was everything she had earned from the system.

And so, for Tsunade, this mission was an opportunity...
