Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Dreams made true

When waking up from a nap, the last thing something someone would expect to see is your room ceiling being replaced by pastel pink clouds blocking out the sky.

Another thing would be a yellow and blue creature leering over you so to be honest being startled was a natural reaction. What wasn't natural was that in trying to get up I didn't feel anything beneath me yet still got up into a standing position facing the creature.

The best way to describe it would be a yellow and blue armless being with accents of pink and a series of pink coronas splitting from its body.

I try to speak with my mouth but when I do so I can't hear them, but this seems to calm me down as I quickly remember a being like the one in front of me, 'Cresselia' I remember but it seems my thought was able to ring out as the being in question seems to preen at the recognition.

We both just stare at each other one in amusement the other in confusion, the Pokémon is the first to speak/think.

'Welcome, to the dream world, we don't have long but to explain, the version of yourself in this universe got hit by one of Darkrai's dark voids during a duel with me and for some reason it caused that version of you to just go straight brain dead. Now killing someone wasn't intended at all, we can duel above cities because we usually restrain each other enough that we don't do any harm, but since your death would have been our fault we felt we needed to fix that. To do this we had to grab another version, essentially you to replace the you who died.'

Hearing all this I press my fingers to my brow absorbing the information.

'So you grabbed me to take the place of the Pokémon version of myself because of an accident, it sounds like you're covering your ass hoping someone doesn't notice, let me guess you are gonna tell me to not tell anyone.'

The Pokémon in front of me nods and makes a happy noise. 'Yeah, we would appreciate it if you could.' Hearing this I cup my chin and look at her with curiosity before thinking, 'What incentive do I have to even keep my mouth shut.'

Hearing this the mythical Pokémon in front of me is stunned before sighing and speaking in a defeated tone. 'What do you want for your silence'

It only takes a few seconds before I think. 'Remove my personal history in the world but keep my citizenship before setting my age to around 18, allow me to create 1 of any Pokémon item per week, being able to quantify Pokémon's stats and maybe the ability to speak to all races, since you know I don't know the language.'

Hearing this Cresselia shakes its head, 'Removing your history while rewinding your age are possible and the language knowledge was already planned but the stat visualisation and item summoned would have to be restricted, one to your own Pokémon only and not to summoning anything related to legendary or mythical Pokémon, if you got the attention of those lot it would make this whole fix pointless.'

I respond with a shrug and a smile since I'm fine with it, Seeing I'm ok with that option Cresselia start to glow with light as the world around me seems to brighten and blind me.

. . .

An unknown amount of time passes until I feel myself wake up using a wooden log in a forest as a pillow with a bed of grass, I get up and pat down my pants for any dirt before looking around.

'Well let's get started, Wait I forgot to ask Cresselia where I was. . .'

Dread creeps down my face as the situation becomes apparent.

I sigh before and look around more and realize I'm in the middle of a clearing and for some reason in the middle of it is a weird spiralling tree with no branches or leaves which just unnerves me.

The first thing I do is check myself for anything I can use to help me navigate, my searches result in me finding 2 items, first a trainer's License which probably acts as my ID and fanny pack which contains only a single small Red and White sphere.

Weirdly it feels instinctive when I hold it and press the button to make it grow in size then press it once again to make it pop open, sadly though no Pokémon appears from it.

Seeing I have nothing else to do I do the first thing to do when lost, look at the sun and burn out my retinas.

After a few minutes of watching the sun's movements, it allows me to determine east and west, next, I check Shadow length, it seems to be nearly midday since my shadows are short pointing west.

Now it's a coin flip since I have no idea which hemisphere I'm in, I blame the random geography of the Pokémon world, either way, could be north so fuck it, I'll die if I stay here so I might as well just go.

I start to go in a straight direction, away from the spiral tree, as I approach the thicket surrounding the clearing, I see a wall of fog start to form ahead of me behind the tree line, this makes me pause for a second since I swear it's not normal but then I remember this world has Pokémon my logic will have to adapt on the fly.

I continue to walk towards the fog and when I reach it I see that within the fog seems to be an archway made of more dense fog within, I sigh before taking a step through it.
