Chapter 4 - The Prophecy of the White Flame

In the darkest hour, a hero with white hair and blue eyes will emerge, possessing a power beyond this world. His strength will be unmatched, his purpose clear—to exterminate the darkness that seeks to consume the world. With each swing of his blade, he will banish shadows, his very presence is a beacon of hope.

"White hair and blue eyes... That sure looks like you, brother," Ajax said with a teasing grin. "Ever thought of becoming a hero and saving the world?"

Clay sighed, shaking his head. "There's no way I could be a hero. I'm just a lowly peasant. I couldn't even wield a sword, much less defeat a demon."

"I know, I know," Ajax chuckled. "But who do you think will be the hero? Is it the benevolent Emperor? The beautiful Snow Knight? Or the glorious Flame Emperor? All of them fit the description—white hair, blue eyes. Clay raised an eyebrow, looking thoughtful. "How could I know? But if you ask me, I'd say none of them are the true hero," he said confidently.

Ajax and Clay's story begins in a village once filled with life, now reduced to ashes and blood. The Great War had swept through their homeland, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. Their family, like so many others, was caught in the crossfire of rival armies and ruthless mercenaries. Their father, a simple farmer, fought to protect their land.Their younger sister, who had the same bright eyes as Ajax, was taken by raiders and never seen again.

Their village was burned to the ground, and all who survived were left to rot in the ruins. No one was left to mourn their family's passing. Clay, barely an adult, clung to the hope of revenge, while Ajax, still a child, learned to survive alone, using his wit and cunning to scrounge for food in the wreckage of what used to be their home.

The brothers wandered from one destroyed village to another, their bodies weak from hunger, their hearts heavy with grief. For years, they scavenged for anything they could find—rotted meat, stale bread, anything that would keep them alive a little longer. The land was no place for children anymore,

and those who had survived the chaos turned into shadows of themselves, bitter and desperate.

They knew only death—death of their loved ones, death of their friends, and even the death of their very humanity. The world had turned its back on them. They became a part of the broken landscape, just another story of ruin in a kingdom that had forgotten how to care.

Yet in the darkness of their hearts, the spark of vengeance still burned. But what would they become? Were they to be just like the monsters that killed their family, or would they rise above? The road ahead was unclear, but one thing was certain: survival meant becoming something else entirely.

Their souls, forever scarred by the horrors they had witnessed, grew colder and more ruthless with each passing day. No longer innocent, they had been shaped by the cruelty of the world. Now, all that remained was the darkness within them—a darkness that could either destroy them or make them powerful enough to tear down the very system that had ravaged their lives.
