Chapter 16 - Movement technique: World Walker

Vesper sat in a space that had no beginning or end, just a vast space. Vesper looked around with his legs crossed and closed his eyes.

He was angry, after those memories surfaced, it was like this body was telling him, this was his life now, and his temper was not getting along with these situations.

"I have to keep my thoughts in control, but the best way is to let them lose for now." Vesper said to himself as he focused on the memories that caused him pain.

Outside the space Catherine, Aurora, Damian and Jonathan stood with their father and the queens.

"Marcus, you said you will punish him, what is this?" Diane demanded.

"After Amara's death we let our children do what ever with him, since he was only a cripple, we had no qualms about him seeking for revenge since he was a cripple, but now things are different. His talents are more than a threat, and killing him is not an option, I made a promise to Amara. Watch this, does that seem like a random rage?"

"This anger he feels is accumulated, but Amon's words triggered this reaction, that the boy is having a hard time controlling his anger. I know I do not recognize this boy as my son, but two of my daughters see him as a loved one, am I supposed to ignore them and make them suffer, for a bunch of fools who only know how to bully the weak?"

"Vesper has fought with an apprentice rank and killed him in battle, when he was rankless, his fighting skills are not made from training but true blood and sweat, while I have sons who pride themselves in fighting with a handicap, sons that have no backbone."

"Do you think Vesper is strong enough to kill Amon? I think not, but yet Amon almost died if you had not interfered. Is this how we conquered the Empire Diane? Is this how we grew? Weak?" Marcus' voice increased in rage as he spoke.

He was disappointed that a son of his lost to a person who only started cultivating in less than a week.

Diane kept quiet and stepped back, even if she hated to admit it Marcus was right, was she supposed to pamper her son who spent his time scheming than training, even with two powerful elements.

Anna and Chloe went silent as well as the children present, the Emperor was right, they had not fought battles but yet fought handicapped against each other to prove their skills, meanwhile they loathed the one who had put his life on the line for an Empire that was not even his.

"I have decided, all of you will go to this war, and stop this war with only fifty men assigned to each of you." Marcus said.

"Damian, tell everyone to meet in the royal dining by dinner, I want to address my family." Marcus said to his son.

While Marcus berated his family outside Vesper stood up and summoned his halberd. Then he closed his eyes picturing the steps that Chloe made while he was battling her.

Slowly but surely his steps became fluid just like the water, then he tried connecting with the space, observing the nature of the space.

'Space is everywhere, but there is a particular signature to every space, the temperature and pressure have different signatures. So if I try imitating their signature.'

Vesper thought as he attuned his mana with that of the surrounding space and soon enough, he felt a connection with the space, as he moved the next instant he vanished and reappeared at another end of the space swinging his halberd, and then he moved vanishing and reappearing around the space moving with a fluidity, that was unbroken and unhindered.

Marcus had a wry smile on his face as he saw this scene, but Chloe's and Catherine's face were filled with utter shock, the mother and daughter pair were very familiar with that movement technique.

"Chloe, is that not you clans movement art? The winds grace?" Marcus asked.

Every one turned to Chloe, looking at her with one thought in her mind, 'Did she teach him?'

"It is my clans movement art husband, but I did not teach it to him, rather I used it when I was testing his skills, only yesterday." Chloe said.

"Only yesterday and he has mastered it already, his talent is more than a genius he is a monster, now you see why I can not bear to punish him." Marcus said, shaking his head.

Catherine let out a small smile and turned, walking away from the room, Chloe turned and left, and like that everyone left the room aside Diane, Anna and Marcus.

"I want to train him, I like his talent." Diane said.

Marcus and Anna did not show any expression of surprise, Diane was from a family of warriors, whose skills and prowess were very high.

"Alright then, but you should teach Amon too, his sly nature is very disturbing, I do not approve of his scheming for useless things." Marcus said as he left.

Diane looked at Vesper once more before walking outside the room. Anna looked at Vesper then muttered, "I am getting to dislike you more little Vesper," with that she walked away.

Vesper was moving and swinging his halberd, at first he moved at locations he faced, making his movement predictable, and his halberd motion were not as swift, but with time, his movement became more random.

Vesper trained this movement before he looked at a certain direction, as if by coincidence he was looking towards the room where everyone stood previously.

Then he channelled his mana to the limit while moving in that direction, his body phased between reality as he appeared in the room.

Soaked in sweat his breath was laboured as he crouched for a few seconds before standing up.

"Well that was painful." Vesper said in bated breath, his whole body felt like it was being grinded and coupled back again.

"And this is through an open space, I need to practice more and master a space authority." He said as he walked through space again appearing in his room, then he placed activated a talisman and a barrier encased his room.

"Well then seeing the freedom in this movement technique I would name it world walker. After all it was created by me." Vesper said to himself with a satisfied smile.

Marcus walked into the room and looked into the portal, to his surprise he did not see Vesper, just as he extended his perception to search for him, he felt a barrier isolating his perception, to his shock it was coming from Vespers' room.

Marcus then turned and vanished.
