Chapter 3: The Three Skills and the Portal to Mecatopia
The clouds began to shimmer as divine energy gathered once more. Just as Mikey thought the ceremony was over, the God of Creation raised his hand again.
"Oh, one last thing, kid," the God said. "Before you begin your new life… you'll need to choose your three main skills in this world."
Mikey blinked. "Three main skills?"
The God smiled. "Exactly. In Mecatopia, everyone is born with a set of talents. But since you're special, you get to pick yours directly. Look around you."
Suddenly, glowing panels spread out around Mikey in all directions—hundreds, maybe even thousands of skill names floated in the air like magical stars.
[Fire Magic], [Ice Arrow], [Beast Tamer], [Assassin Instinct], [Healing Light], [Dark Curse], [Dragon Tongue]...
It was overwhelming.
"Whoa... there's so many," Mikey muttered.
He scrolled through with his fingers, searching... until his eyes landed on three that called out to him.
[Summoner] – A rare class that calls forth magical beasts and spirits to fight.
[Swordsman] – The foundation of close combat and physical strength.
[???] – Locked. (This skill will awaken upon receiving divine blessing.)
Mikey's eyes gleamed. "These are perfect! I choose Summoner, Swordsman, and… whatever that hidden one is!"
The God of Creation raised a brow. "Oh? That last one is an S-Rank hidden skill. It will awaken in due time... when you're ready for it."
Mikey gave a determined nod. "Then I'll earn it."
The God laughed warmly. "Very well! Your choices are now bound to your soul."
A light enveloped Mikey's body once again, marking his skills into existence.
"And now," the God continued, "because of your perfect score… I'll grant you one wish before you go."
Mikey's eyes widened. "A wish? Anything?"
"Anything within divine power."
Mikey didn't even need to think. His voice was steady.
"I want a magical pet. Someone who will stay by my side no matter what."
The God smiled softly, as if he had been expecting that answer.
"Granted."
The sky split open once more. A small sphere of light floated down and began to take shape. Soft fur, glowing eyes, and a faint aura of magic surrounded it.
It was a creature like no other—part fox, part dragon, with silvery fur and violet wings.
It landed softly next to Mikey and looked up at him with loyal, intelligent eyes.
"From now on," the God said, "this magical creature shall be your companion. Its name will be yours to give."
Mikey knelt down and smiled. "I'll protect you too, little guy."
The magical pet purred in response.
Then, the God of Creation raised both arms.
"Now then… it's time."
A glowing portal appeared, swirling with blue and gold light. Through it, Mikey could see a distant land filled with forests, mountains, and floating castles.
"Mikey," the God said, "are you ready to face the challenges of your new life?"
Mikey turned, holding his new pet close, his heart pounding with anticipation.
"…Yeah. I'm ready."
And with that, he stepped into the portal.
His journey in Mecatopia had begun.
