Chapter 5: The Crest of the Immortals

The temple of Mecatopia buzzed with divine energy. High ceilings etched with glowing runes, golden statues of gods towering above, and a soft hymn echoing through the marble halls—it all made the moment feel surreal.

Mickey stood silently, his tiny hands clenched as his name echoed across the sacred space.

"Mickey of House Ken," the priest called. "Step forth and receive your Crest."

The five-year-old stepped onto the altar platform, his heart pounding like a war drum.

"Place your hand on the altar," the priest said, voice formal and steady.

Mickey reached out and gently touched the glowing stone.

And in that instant—

BOOM!

A flash of golden light engulfed him, blinding the audience. Time froze. The world around Mickey dissolved into shimmering mist.

When he opened his eyes again, he wasn't in the temple.

He was floating in a sky of clouds, surrounded by blinding divinity. A voice echoed.

"Welcome, Mickey."

Mickey spun around to see the God of Creation, along with the other six gods and goddesses, descending through the sky.

"Wh-What's going on?" Mickey asked, blinking.

The God of Creation smiled. "Mickey… your soul resonated with something far greater than this world's system. Your body is still at the altar, but your mind… has been brought here."

The Goddess of Fire stepped forward. "There once existed a Crest—an ancient one—used only by the Immortals of the First Era."

The God of Spells added, "It was thought to be lost forever… until today."

The Goddess of Wind raised her hand, revealing a glowing emblem—an intricate symbol with five wings, a sword, and a swirling vortex in the center.

"This," she said, "is the Crest of Eternia. The Immortal Crest."

"W-Wait…" Mickey stuttered. "Are you saying… that's what I'm getting?"

The gods all nodded.

The God of War grinned. "You are no ordinary child, Mickey. You were chosen the moment your soul entered Mecatopia."

The God of Creation raised his hand and the glowing Crest floated forward, pressing into Mickey's chest.

"Let this Crest awaken the path of your true power."

FLASH!

---

Back at the temple, the glowing light exploded in all directions. Everyone shielded their eyes.

And when it faded…

Silence.

Mickey stood there, hand still on the altar, his eyes glowing faintly. A golden symbol blazed on the back of his hand—nothing like any Crest anyone had seen before. Complex. Powerful. Divine.

The priest fell to his knees.

"Th-That Crest… That's not in the records…!"

The nobles gasped.

"Could it be… an ancient Crest?!"

"Impossible!"

"Is this child… blessed by the Immortals?"

Mickey took a deep breath as the divine energy settled.

He looked at his glowing hand, then at the stunned crowd.

So much for the weakest crest...

Now let's see how far this Immortal Crest can take me.
