Chapter 2 - A Sweet Nightmare

It was evening time when Christine arrived in her car to the new place. All her belongings had already been shifted there. Except for Anna; whom she left there with just a goodbye. Sitting in the car with hands on the steering, she looked at the building. It appeared duller than anything. Nevertheless, she had secured a fine place to live and get engaged in her writing part with zero distraction.

As she went up to her floor, she unlocked the door of her flat. And all she found was stuff in the room which was supposed to be placed at the right place. Except for the bed, the dressing table and other heavy furniture everything was scattered. That of course meant she had a lot of work to do. But she had to it; and so, she did, by the onset of the nightfall. Her working table was placed by the bed as usual. Her laptop was kept aside. She wasn't interested in YouTube that night. So, she took a pen and paper, and sat to begin with some new content. Unfortunately, all she was getting that moment were sad ideas. Otherwise, she wrote romantic one-shots, mostly. She never preferred to deliver something to her readers that emphasized on pathos. So, she kept her things aside and tucked herself into bed all at once.

The night was rather silent. Christine with her shut eyes could hear the train's chugging. She was tired with the day's grind. So, it didn't take her long to start feeling drowsy. No sooner she had fallen semi-asleep than what happened was totally unexpected. She was all alone in her home, absolutely solus… and she started to feel somebody's cold breath against her neck. Christine gasped. It was an intense feeling as though it wasn't a dream but something happening actually. She felt as if somebody's arms were exactly at her left and right, and it hovered slightly above her. It stared at her. Davis couldn't open her eyelids out of sleepiness. The girl, then felt a pair of lips touching her slightly, exactly against where she felt that cold puff. She continued to gasp. It was a matter of both pleasure and fear for her. Slowly and gradually the press tightened. She kind of moaned for once. And then suddenly opened her eyes and sat up straight. She was panting heavily and was sweating too. She turned on the bedside lamp. It glowed dim, but was bright enough to make things discernible. But to her astonishment there was no creature to be seen; no living thing except for her. Considering it was nothing but a nightmare, Christine lied down. Snuggling down into the blanket she fell asleep once more.
