"I wonder what the makers of Terraria would think if they saw this scene."
I looked at the beautiful crystal heart tree sapling in front of me. Normally, in Terraria, I could plant trees for various stones—sapphire, diamond, emerald, amethyst...
But I had taken it to the next level by using a crystal heart I had found by accident in a cave, creating a crystal heart tree. Around this extremely valuable tree, there were other trees where common metals grew.
Right now, my favorite tree was an iron tree, though I knew I wouldn't care about that tree in the future.
"For now, it's better not to dig deeper. It's better to wait for the trees I've planted to grow."
Although bone meal could speed up this process. I wondered if I could use the bones of animals like rabbits for this.
The more I thought about it, the more plausible the idea seemed. But just as I was about to leave my underground shelter, I heard a noise.
"Awooooo!"
Another wolf howl. I decided to wait and not go outside. For now, I would avoid the fight. When I had my full iron set, I planned to face them.
"I'm going to wear an iron armor set. I'll make iron yo-yos and control one with each finger. Then, with an iron shield in one hand and an iron sword in the other, I'll teach you what true despair feels like."
Yo-yos were one of my favorite things. Unlike in the game, I could attach them to my fingers and control all of them at once. I had tested this with low-quality wooden yo-yos, and though the string I used wasn't very strong, they still had enough damage potential.
But getting high-quality string seemed impossible for now. So, I was hoping to trade with other people, though that seemed unlikely.
When I thought about bone meal, my grave suddenly came to mind. But it didn't feel very ethical, so I dismissed the idea. If I didn't have respect for myself, I couldn't respect others. That would be a bad habit.
"I'll take a little nap. When evening comes, I'll gather a few stars. I've already lowered the ground by a few meters, so the stars will fall into my area. Those stupid dogs won't bother me."
Though I didn't need it, I lay down on the clay bed I had prepared earlier and fell into a deep sleep. Or at least, I was expecting to sleep well.
"Bsnwn +##-#!(@!"
"What the hell is going on!!"
My sleep was interrupted by a sudden noise. The source of the noise was a little boy. Apparently, this boy was wandering the forest alone at this hour. Somehow, he had attracted the wolves' attention and thought that climbing up the treehouse I had built would be a good idea to stay safe.
If I were in the boy's place, I'd be scared too. After all, the wolves were attacking the trees that I had used to build the treehouse, and considering how strong they were, it was just a matter of time before the treehouse collapsed.
I couldn't leave him to die, so I paused at an angle where the boy could see me and made my underground shelter visible to him.
"Hey kid, jump down, it's safe here!"
The boy looked at me and the pack of wolves walking as though they were on the ground. Then he said something.
"Jajshja hajjahx jhzjsjsn?"
"Shit! Did I really hit a language barrier? What language is this? Japanese? Chinese? Or is it a completely different language?"
The language he spoke sounded somewhat like Chinese, which made me regret not learning more languages. If I knew more languages, everything would have been much easier.
The little boy was looking at me with puppy-dog eyes and saying something. It was clear he was begging me to save him.
The wolves were still attacking the trees that were the foundations of the treehouse. It was easy for me to save the boy, I just needed to make the treehouse invisible to him. Then, the boy would fall into my secret underground shelter.
This plan had two flaws. The first flaw was that the boy might get injured from the fall. The second flaw was that the wolves might attack him while he was falling.
But after thinking carefully, I decided that this plan was relatively safe. After all, if I did nothing, the boy would die. Plus, the wolves were stronger than me, and fighting them wasn't an option.
With a single thought, I made the treehouse invisible to the boy. The boy, unaffected by the existence of the treehouse, fell directly into the hidden underground shelter.
"#-₺;(@#;)@{€!"
I think the thing he said while falling was some kind of curse, but I wasn't completely sure. After he landed, he let out a heartbreaking scream, then looked at me with a strange expression of both hatred and gratitude. I couldn't really blame him.
"Alright, alright, I have extra health potions. Take this and stop looking at me like that."
The little boy caught the red health potion bottle I threw and said something else.
"Jsjsjbdnsa ajajanjbwh, akksndjn najakxny."
I had no idea what he said.
"Ajdhiw jajznsu anndhiz."
"I don't understand what you're saying."
"Kaksija jajjakakkl jajnsunaan."
When the little boy realized that I didn't understand him, he started talking less, probably thinking he was annoying me. I smiled at him warmly because of his thoughtful attitude.
"You're such a thoughtful child. Are you hungry?"
I took a few fruits from my inventory and offered them to him.
"Dathyf fhjfcji fhbcsehj?"
He looked at me as if asking a question, but I had no idea what he was asking. After a while, the boy hesitantly took the fruit I had offered him. The smile on his face as he ate it was quite heartwarming.
"I wish I could understand what you're saying."
Unfortunately, my wish didn't come true, and I still couldn't understand anything.
