Jason felt a wide smile spreading on his face and he nodded in satisfaction at his deduction! He had to test his theories later when he had more subordinates, but for now, he was just glad that he was alive! He turned to look at the other stats from his summon.
Jason only needed on Upgrade Points to upgrade the wolf, but he would need to gather sixty more Kill Points before he could get that single Upgrade Point. It seemed outrageous, but when Jason thought about it, it bothered him less. He would need to kill a lot of beasts to upgrade even one of them so that only meant that the upgrade would be something worthwhile.
There was a connection he could feel with the wolf, almost like he could read its thoughts and emotions through a mind link. Jason put his hand out for the wolf to shake it and it raised its paw and put it in his hand! The paw felt real and tangible, like the wolf was still alive, but its body warmth had gone and now it was cold to the touch!
It was strange seeing a two-meter-tall wolf acting so subservient, but Jason couldn't help the small grin that appeared on his face when he saw the wolf's tail wagging excitedly!
"Good boy."
"Yip! Yip! Howl~!!"
The wolf suddenly howled loudly and Jason quickly put his hand on it's mouth and mentally told it to shut up! Did it want to tell all the other wolves where they were!?
The wolf immediately deflated submissively as its ears dropped flat and Jason listened for any sign of movement around him.
Crack~

The sound of branches cracking underfoot reached Jason and he immediately knew that the other wolves had heard the howl.

A new mission suddenly appeared in front of Jason and Jason glared at the summoned wolf when he realized that the other wolves were on their way!
The wolf whined sadly once it realized that Jason was angry with it and looked away, but Jason didn't bother staying angry for long. They had to figure out a plan before the others reached them, and they had to figure it out fast!
Jason's mind whirled as various possibilities ran through it, and it wasn't long before he felt a figurative lightbulb go off in his head as a plan came together!
He turned to the wolf and saw that it was already getting to its feet without him needing to say anything.
'So the summons can read my intentions without communication. That's good. It'll help us stay silent.'
Jason mentally commanded the wolf on what it was to do and the wolf's eyes sharpened into clear focus as it suddenly gained back the aura of a predator. It slowly moved away from Jason to get into position and Jason turned back around to the other side of the forest!
[Night Vision] has been activated!
Jason's vision suddenly sharpened into a clear focus as his eyes changed into the same dark red as the [Moonlight Wolf]. Everything around him became extremely visible and all the shadows fell away like the sun was shining directly on them and showing Jason what was there.
Jason moved to a tree that was a few meters away from him and hid behind it! Jason's stats had grown a little since he received ten percent of the wolf's strength after summoning it, but he had also grown weaker since the system took away the fifty percent boost in strength that allowed him to fight the wolf on equal footing.
But that didn't mean that Jason was weak, and if he timed his attacks right, then he knew he would still stand a chance against the wolves.
His knife was held tightly in his right hand, and with his improved vision, he was able to pick out the figures of three wolves calmly stalking toward his location. Their mouths were bloody and there were pieces of flesh and cloth on their lips, showing that they had just finished eating the other boys.
Jason felt a little bad that he hadn't been able to help the boys, but he got rid of those emotions quickly! He did the best he could for them and they turned his help away! There was nothing he could have done since the boys themselves refused his help!
He wasn't a hero and he sure as hell wasn't a sacrificial idiot! If he had stayed back then he would've died too.
Jason forgot all about the boys and focused on the current moment. The wolves were only a few meters away from him, and since Jason now knew that the wolves all had [Night Vision], he made sure to hide himself as perfectly as possible so they couldn't see him.
Through his mental link with his subordinate, he felt a prod as it asked him if it was time yet and Jason waited for a few seconds for the wolves to get into the perfect position before he sent out a response.
'Now!'
ROAR!
His wolf suddenly dashed out from the foliage with a loud roar, and before any of the other wolves could react, his wolf slammed into one of them, taking it to the ground and biting down hard on its neck!
Crack!
A sickening crunch echoed through the night as Jason's wolf tore into the other wolf's neck and the other two wolves suddenly regained their senses and bared their teeth at it as they prepared to pounce!
But before they could do that, Jason dashed out from behind the tree, drawing their attention to him while also spreading his mana out towards the dead wolf!
"Resurrect!"
Jason shouted his [Key Word] and pulse of mana surged through the wolf's body and dragged its soul out in one pull! The two summoned wolves were now together against the other two, and since the two that weren't under Jason's control had been distracted by his movement, they were too slow to react as they were suddenly tackled to the ground by Jason's two subordinates!
The wolves fought on the ground for a few seconds and Jason didn't need to be a genius to see that his wolves obviously had the upper hand. They were faster and stronger and overall superior to the other Moonlight Wolves! Before long the two wolves were killed and the forest grew silent again.

Jason crouched and released a sigh as he felt a strange tiredness coming over him once the fight was over! His breaths came out in heavy puffs and his heart rate was increasing! Was there something wrong with him?

Jason read through the message quickly and he sighed. So that's why he was so tired?
The tiredness wasn't enough to make him fall down, but it was serious enough that he could really feel it sapping away his energy!
'Maybe I should stick to simpler commands from now on. Just one-sentence commands or something. At least until I raise my stamina to C Rank.'
Jason didn't want a situation where he passed out because of stamina depletion. That would be stupid.
