Chapter 8 - chapter-8 hunting and looting*2

The chest that Arthur was gazing at stood before him—a black-rank treasure chest. It was not the type of chest that usually contained anything of high value. These chests were known for their randomness, often offering only mediocre rewards. However, Arthur was different. He wasn't just an ordinary adventurer. He possessed the legendary talent **Luck**, which made him confident that he would receive the highest-tier items, even from a black-rank chest.

His heart raced with excitement as he knelt before the chest, ready to open it. With a sense of anticipation in the air, Arthur carefully lifted the lid.

*Congratulations, Lord. You have opened a black-rank treasure chest.*

A soft hum filled the air, and the glow of the chest intensified as a notification appeared.

*Attention, Lord. Your legendary talent "Luck" is in use.*

*You have obtained: 1000 gold coins, 500 units of meat and water, 12 Tier-2 Frost Swords, 10 Tier-2 Aura Shields, 16 Tier-2 Armor Plates and Helmets, and 1 Tier-3 Magic Staff.*

Arthur's eyes widened as he saw the treasure laid out before him. It was a sight to behold—piles of shimmering gold coins, neatly stacked weapons and armor, and the gleaming magic staff. He began to examine the items with great care, his hands trembling slightly from the thrill.

*Gold Coins – The basic currency used for trade in this world. They serve as the foundation of all transactions, from buying supplies to hiring mercenaries.*

*Tier-2 Frost Sword – A sword forged from icy steel, capable of freezing enemies on impact for up to five seconds. The freezing duration varies based on the strength of the target. The colder the blade, the longer the freeze.*

*Tier-2 Aura Shield – A shield that can absorb and store mana, allowing the user to create an aura around the shield that diminishes the attack power of enemies. This aura can be empowered by the soldier's mana and used in a devastating release, shooting concentrated blasts of stored energy at opponents.*

*Tier-2 Armor Plate and Helmet – Durable and resilient, these pieces of armor provide an additional 10% increase in movement speed and reduce incoming damage by 15%. The strength of the armor depends on the enemy's attack. If an enemy's power exceeds the armor's defensive capabilities, the armor will shatter.*

As Arthur read through the descriptions, he couldn't contain his joy. These items would significantly increase his strength and the power of his soldiers. And to think, it was only his first day. He could already feel the surge of power within him, knowing he was advancing faster than anyone else in this new world. His legendary luck had truly blessed him today.

With his excitement building, Arthur turned his attention to the one item he had been most curious about: the Tier-3 Magic Staff. It was a strange-looking artifact, made of dark wood and standing at 1.5 meters tall. At first glance, it didn't look special—just an ordinary piece of wood. But there was something unsettling about it, something that stirred a deep, almost magical feeling within him.

*Tier-3 Magic Staff – Amplifies the user's magic power by 30%. Increases mana by 10. The staff grants the ability to wield Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, and Water magic without needing to learn the skills. The user can cast these elemental spells freely, making it a versatile tool in combat.*

Arthur's heart raced again as he realized the true value of the staff. With this, he could fight from a distance, using powerful magic without needing to learn the complex spells. He wasn't ready to face monsters head-on, not yet. But this staff gave him the advantage he needed to engage from afar, striking down enemies without ever needing to put himself in danger.

Determined to prepare for the upcoming battles, Arthur quickly decided to equip the staff and store the other items in his inventory. He wasn't one to waste any opportunity. He distributed the 10 Tier-2 Frost Swords, 10 Tier-2 Aura Shields, and 10 Tier-2 Armor Sets to his soldiers. These items would enhance their strength, durability, and combat effectiveness, turning them into a formidable force.

The remaining 2 Tier-2 Frost Swords and 6 Tier-2 Armor Sets were carefully stored in his inventory, ready for future use.

With his soldiers now better equipped, Arthur looked at them with pride. They looked more formidable, their expressions hardened with the newfound power coursing through them. Their armor gleamed in the sunlight, and their weapons were ready for battle. They were no longer just regular soldiers; they were an elite force, capable of taking on even the toughest foes.

After some time, they arrived at the next monster gathering area. The air was thick with tension, and the forest around them felt eerily silent, as though it, too, was aware of the danger ahead.

Arthur took a deep breath and spoke in a low voice, "Be prepared, everyone. This is where the next group of monsters gathers."

The soldiers, no longer speaking, nodded in solemn agreement. They knew better than to make noise or show fear. Their loyalty to Arthur was unwavering, and they trusted his judgment completely. They moved silently, staying close to one another, as they neared the monsters.

Arthur's sharp eyes scanned the area ahead. From a distance, he spotted a group of kobolds lurking in the shadows. He quickly pulled out his map and checked their stats.

*Name:* Kobold

*Class:* (Even I don't know)

*Category:* Normal Monster

*Cultivation:* Tier-2 (Level 2)

*Rank:* Black

*EXP:* ....

*Skills:* .....

*Talent:* .....

There were 50 of them in this area. Arthur's eyes narrowed as he studied their stats. He was confident that his soldiers, with their upgraded gear and the magic staff, could easily defeat these kobolds. They wouldn't need the Wolf Formation to handle these creatures—simple strategy and their improved power would suffice.

"First, get close to them just like we did with the Snow Goblins," Arthur instructed, his voice low but firm. "Then strike—show no mercy."

The soldiers didn't hesitate. They understood the command without needing further explanation. They moved swiftly, closing the distance between them and the kobolds. As they got closer, they suddenly charged, their weapons flashing in the sunlight. The kobolds were caught off guard, and the soldiers struck with deadly precision. Several kobolds fell with a single blow, their bodies crumpling to the ground before they even had a chance to react.

The soldiers fought with relentless efficiency, taking down one kobold after another. They didn't need to use their formations; the upgraded equipment and their newfound strength made the difference. One by one, the kobolds were slain until only a few remained.

Eventually, the last kobold fell to the ground with a final, gurgling cry. Arthur stood, watching as his soldiers finished off the last of the monsters. His heart swelled with pride.

"Congratulations, Lord..."
