Clark House.
The Clark family mansion is one of the most powerful in the city. As the people in charge of running the 'Clark Group', which has a Guild registered in the Global Awakening System, they have a high status in the city and nearby cities.
They have powerful Masters who are in charge of protecting the family, and they are respected and admired throughout the city.
Among them is Master Alexander Clark, the Clan Leader and father of John Clark.
Powerful, cold, and calculating, he is feared in the City as he is one of the most powerful. He is also the father of Tyler Clark, the most powerful man known in Loen City for the last two years.
The Clark mansion is usually silent, with only the wild animals making any noise. But today, the main room was unusually bustling.
Generally, they do not receive visitors in this place since all visits tend to be administered by the Clark Group, but the news that today's people brought needed to be attended to with the utmost urgency; at least, that was how Alexander Clark saw it.
"Are you sure what you're saying?" Alexander asked some people who were kneeling in front of him.
"Sir, I'm sure. Elliot Clark had to have awakened because our leader died at his hands."
"Also, there is something suspicious about the disappearance of Elliot's previous leader, as the last time he was seen, he was knocking on the door of Elliot's room."
"In addition to that, the report we received from the Association is that he has sold hundreds of rat bodies in the last few hours and has been seen hunting in the rat area."
As the various envoys and spies of the Clark Family gave their versions of the events, Alexander looked at the man who remained silent, as he remembered him slightly.
"You were friends with Elliot before, right? You're working at the association, you must know what they're talking about."
The man nodded.
"I'm the older brother of Ruth, a good friend of Elliot's. She told me the following: Elliot has awakened. And ..." Suddenly, he fell silent.
"And what? Finish talking."
The man swallowed before speaking. "It seems he has entered the E-Rank Dungeon of the Chimera Boss for the second time. In less than 72 hours."
"What?!" The armchair behind Alexander shot backwards as he stood up.
Alexander went over and grabbed him by the neck to lift him up. "Are you telling the truth? I hope you're not making this up!" He growled fiercely, his eyes blazing with rage.
If it turned out that this guy was talking nonsense, he would blow his head off right then and there.
The man nodded quickly, frightened. "Sir, it's just like that. My sister doesn't tend to tell me lies. She's the one who bought the things for Elliot Clark. He had managed to clean out the E-rank dungeon before, and he did it in a short time. He went in a second time this afternoon."
Alexander finally let him go and leaned back a little.
Looking at the clock, he realized it was 5 in the afternoon.
'The dungeon normally opens at 1 pm every day, and lately, no people have been challenging it due to the lack of newbies in the city, so he should still be inside. Now, that doesn't make sense. Elliot Clark's birthday is on September 3rd... It's been barely four days since then. How is he already strong enough to challenge that dungeon twice in a row in less than two or three days?'
It didn't make sense.
But there was a way.
He's been hiding his awakening, and only now that he's strong enough does he plan to show himself...
It could only be that there was no other way.
The question is, how strong was he, and when did he awaken?
He looked at one of his subordinates waiting on the side.
"Bring John. Something urgent has happened; we have to act."
"Yes, sir."
Alexander extracted more information from those kneeling there while he waited for John to arrive. When they could give him nothing of value, he allowed them to leave.
A few minutes later, John Clark entered the room.
"Father, what's going on?"
"John, have you heard about Elliot's recent movements?"
"Elliot?" John cocked his head in doubt. "He's been going to the martial arts center and the gym frequently. But I already ordered them not to let him in anymore. So you shouldn't worry about him seeing something he shouldn't. Besides, I sent assassins to kill him; maybe he's already dead."
Alexander frowned. 'Trained assassins?"
"Yes, father."
Suddenly, Alexander sighed.
"Yes, the leader of the trained assassins contacted me and told me that he lost contact with all of them. They may be already dead."
"What? Impossible, father. They are..."
"You don't understand, John. There's a 90% chance or more that Elliot Clark awakened two years ago."
"Wh-what?! Impossible!"
"No, it's not impossible. I recently got information that he's been doing things that only a powerful awakened can do."
John's mind suddenly buzzed, unable to believe. "A-Are you sure?"
"Not completely, but it's hard to see how there could be another alternative. A Misfit can't kill rats, let alone complete the Dungeon of the Chimera Boss. That's why I'm almost certain he's awakened."
John took several steps back in fear. "Dungeon of the Chimera Boss? Impossible. I saw him a few days ago, and he didn't seem to put up much of a fight. How could he be so strong? Even I have trouble getting through that dungeon."
"He may have good party, too, but the truth is that he has awakened. That's why I want you to..."
Suddenly, Alexander was interrupted by someone else's arrival.
"Sir, Elliot Clark has just been seen at the martial arts center." This one arrived by opening the door with a slam, as he was one of the subordinates who had listened to the informants talking. He held his cell phone and showed him the photo and the date Elliot was seen.
Alexander frowned... 'So fast? He hadn't entered that dungeon? Is he that strong, or does he have a powerful team?'
Alexander felt that the intrigue was killing him. He didn't like the idea that one of his most deadly enemies was getting out of control.
After frowning, he thought of the best possibility: 'It's the perfect opportunity to kill him.'
He then looked at his son.
"Challenge him in the system and kill him at once. If we give him time to register with the Association, there will be problems when we want to kill him."
John rolled his eyes at that moment, completely doubting what his father was saying.
Should he challenge him personally? Wouldn't that be lowering his rank and giving him unnecessary fame?
He would be challenging a man who had the reputation of being the weakest misfit in town!
But under his father's stern gaze, he had to agree, gritting his teeth. "I'll do it. I'll get rid of that bastard once and for all."
Alexander nodded. "It's good that you understand quickly. Come on, I'll accompany you."
John nodded, although this put some kind of invisible pressure on him. If his father was going to go, it meant there was no room for defeat.
Although that made one thing certain: Elliot Clark was going to die one way or another.
