The woman across the glass.
Same face. Different eyes.
"Su-yeon is dead." But she had visited him. Smiled. Whispered. Warned.
Ji-hoon gripped the edge of the interrogation table. His breath caught in his throat.
"Then who was she?" the detective asked.
A sister? A shadow? A lie?
Ji-hoon closed his eyes. Memory fragments crashed like waves.
Two Su-yeons. One watching. One bleeding.
One buried.
The pencil scar on his temple ached. A reminder: you can't erase what's part of you.
"She studied my case. Said her mother researched DID."
Or was it someone else's mother? Hers? Ours?
The detective's pen paused. His voice low. Steady.
"Why did she come to you now?"
Ji-hoon opened his mouth, but no words came. Only a question: What if she never left?
What if she was always watching?
What if she needed him... to wake up?
He looked up. The detective's gaze held more than doubt. It held fear.
