Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Sanctification of Flesh

Finally, Chu Feng was full and felt immensely satisfied. His body was warm, lying back in his chair, not wanting to move an inch.

He now found both his body and mind comfortable. The hunger he had felt not long ago seemed so terrifying, but after escaping that state, he actually felt a sense of happiness.

The table was covered with empty plates, all clean and eaten up. Chu Feng was somewhat stunned, wondering just how much he had eaten, becoming a real glutton?

Not far away, the yellow ox lay with its belly round, snoring loudly.

A wave of drowsiness came over him, and Chu Feng couldn't hold on any longer. He went back to his room and fell asleep immediately. This sleep was particularly sweet, lasting until the sun was high the next day.

His stomach growled again, waking him up due to hunger. Chu Feng was startled; could it be that he would spend all day eating and sleeping like a pig?

The yellow ox had woken up early and was now nosing around, finishing off the fruits in the refrigerator. Not content, it came to Chu Feng asking for more.

"What's the rush? I'll stew some beef for you later!" Chu Feng said irritably, pulling out a large piece of meat from the freezer and heading into the kitchen.

The yellow ox widened its eyes and then grew agitated, its golden horns glowing and white smoke puffing out of its nostrils, looking as if it wanted to fight him to the death.

"Go away, don't make trouble, this is pork chop!" Chu Feng said guiltily.

In the end, the yellow ox ate a lot of pork chops and thought they tasted good, humming happily.

As for Chu Feng, he decisively cooked a pot of beef, solemnly telling the ox it was mutton, which had a strong smell and wasn't suitable for it!

The yellow ox was suspicious, occasionally glancing at the pot, opening its mouth several times, unsure whether it wanted to taste or say something, but ultimately didn't touch the pot.

"This dead ox has such a keen nose; it will be troublesome for me to eat beef in the future," Chu Feng thought guiltily.

At the same time, he grumbled inwardly about how a mere ox had such a preference for meat!

To his slight relief, this meal's portion was much smaller than yesterday, not as shocking.

In the courtyard, he grabbed a heavy stone table with one hand and lifted it effortlessly overhead.

Chu Feng wanted to see how strong he really was. He focused on a landscape rock in the yard, which was quite heavy, weighing six to seven hundred pounds and requiring great effort to bring in years ago.

Though it was bulky and hard to lift, Chu Feng still managed to hug it tightly and lifted it vigorously, causing the brown rock to rise off the ground instantly.

Finally, he placed it on the ground with a thud, causing a slight tremor.

Chu Feng was lost in thought; his arm strength was astonishingly strong, able to lift such a heavy rock, truly shocking.

If anyone saw this, they would probably be terrified on the spot.

"More than ten times stronger than ordinary people," he murmured.

Then, Chu Feng took out a stopwatch, preparing to test his speed outside. When he dashed out with a whoosh, he felt the wind roaring past him, trees on both sides retreating quickly.

"One hundred meters in three seconds?!" Chu Feng was astounded.

Although his speed hadn't reached ten times that of an ordinary person, it was still frightening, far surpassing recorded human speed limits, making it feel unreal.

For a long time, he remained stunned.

Next, he tried various tests, including vision, impact resistance, nerve response, hearing, etc., albeit roughly, without precise standards.

These values increased significantly, ranging from several times to tenfold.

Chu Feng was both surprised and delighted; his muscles were slightly translucent, indicating a transformation, and faintly, there was a light fragrance on his body.

This resembled descriptions in historical records of old Taoists and monks in their later years, whose bodies became transparent and fragrant, remaining uncorrupted even after death, considered an unsolved mystery.

Over the next two days, Chu Feng stayed indoors, quietly experiencing his changes, practicing special breathing techniques morning and evening.

He noticed his appetite returned to normal, and his changes stabilized.

During these two days, the yellow ox was very lazy, wanting to sleep all day, but gradually normalized over time and started playing with Chu Feng's communicator again.

Seeing this, Chu Feng frowned, remembering the last incident, still feeling embarrassed and humiliated, thinking no one would believe his explanation.

"Ox King, I warn you, don't touch my communicator, or I'll get mad!"

"Moo!" The ox disagreed.

"I have something to do now, no time to play with you." Chu Feng said, planning to visit Old Doctor Wang for another health check-up.

Suddenly, he glanced at the ox and smiled, "Actually, if you want to play with it, it's easy; I'll buy you a new one."

Hearing this, the ox was quite happy but then showed caution, stepping back and staring at him.

"Dead ox, what are you looking at, what do you mean? Don't use your wolfish heart to guess my magnanimity!" Chu Feng looked at it.

"Moo!" The ox sneered.

"Alright, besides the special breathing technique, do you have any other tricks? Teach me some, and I'll get you a brand new communicator," Chu Feng said with a fake smile.

The ox grinned, seemingly mocking him, as if saying, showing your true colors?

Chu Feng remained calm, not blushing at all, "A communicator is a treasure; with it, you can know what's happening worldwide. Consider it."

With that, he left.

These two days, the air in Qingyang Town seemed especially fresh. Taking a deep breath made one feel refreshed. Chu Feng pondered if this was due to the changes in heaven and earth.

Faintly, colorful mists could be seen emanating from distant mountains, spreading throughout the sky, making the area fresher.

There were many people in front of Old Doctor Wang's clinic. Chu Feng stood in line until it was his turn.

"So many people are sick?" Chu Feng asked.

Old Doctor Wang smiled upon seeing him, inviting him to the inner courtyard, clearly not wanting outsiders to know about Chu Feng's uniqueness, showing great care.

"You're wrong; these people used to have minor ailments, but over the past two days, their conditions have improved, and they're getting better."

Chu Feng was surprised, thinking about it and showing surprise.

"Is it related to the changes in heaven and earth?" he guessed.

"It seems so; look at those mountains, the mist they emit seems to contain beneficial substances for the human body," Doctor Wang nodded, also amazed at how many patients with chronic diseases were improving.

Most people today came because they felt better and wanted confirmation.

"At first, everyone was panicked by the drastic changes in the world, but now it doesn't seem as bad as expected," Doctor Wang sighed.

These days, ordinary people felt more energetic, with significant changes, bringing immense joy.

Chu Feng looked into the distance, knowing there were many fierce birds and beasts in the wilderness. If they came out, it wouldn't be the peaceful scene now.

For example, the giant toad Zhou Quan saw, as big as a millstone, could chase and kill various beasts, knocking down elephants for food.

Doctor Wang examined Chu Feng thoroughly and conducted multiple physical tests, finally shocked to find his physique had further improved.

This time, Chu Feng ran 100 meters in just 2.5 seconds, startling the old man greatly.

His strength reached twelve times that of an ordinary person, with hearing, nerve response, and vision even more astonishing than before.

"This... is unbelievable; could it continue to improve?" Doctor Wang muttered, slightly dazed.

"I think it's peaked for now, as my body has stabilized and my appetite returned to normal, which is why I came for another check-up," Chu Feng honestly informed.

"Even so, it's like a myth!" Doctor Wang couldn't calm down, suddenly sniffing, "I've been smelling a faint fragrance; is it coming from you?"

He seemed uncertain, showing astonishment.

Chu Feng nodded.

After confirming it came from Chu Feng's body naturally, Doctor Wang was stunned, almost petrified, finding it hard to believe, then looked shocked.

"How... is this possible?!" He stared at Chu Feng, unable to speak for a long time.

"What's wrong?" Chu Feng asked.

"How isn't it wrong? In ancient times, this would be a major event. Some old Taoists and monks might emit this fragrance after living over a hundred years, combined with such strength and speed, they called it 'the sanctification of flesh'."

"There's... such a saying?" Chu Feng was stunned.

"Yes, the sanctification of flesh!" Doctor Wang confirmed.

Chu Feng was stunned; this was indeed shocking.

"Some ancient records, though seemingly mystical, shouldn't be entirely dismissed; some are credible," Doctor Wang explained.

He mastered Western medicine but was originally trained in traditional Chinese medicine, studying ancient medical texts thoroughly, even delving into alchemical formulas, including Daoist and Buddhist classics, thus having extensive knowledge.

"The limits of the human body should be breakable; aren't you a perfect example?" Doctor Wang exclaimed, "Some ancients must have achieved this too. For instance, Buddha throwing an elephant sounds mystical, but with extremely powerful physical strength, it might be possible."

According to him, Buddha was merely a human but possessed extraordinary physical strength, enabling him to throw an elephant.

"Buddha throwing an elephant, Daoists moving mountains, these are manifestations of the sanctification of flesh. Even after death, their bodies remain uncorrupted, emitting a fragrance."

Doctor Wang grew increasingly excited, clearly fascinated by these ancient records, especially seeing Chu Feng as a living example, making it hard for him to stay calm.

"You can't throw an elephant yet, but you show me the possibility of breaking human limits," Doctor Wang wished he could dissect Chu Feng for study.

Chu Feng hurriedly got up, bade farewell, and fled.

On the way home, Chu Feng thought a lot.

Approaching home, he heard a loud noise in the yard, accompanied by thunderous sounds.

What happened? Was the Ox King causing trouble again?

Entering the yard, Chu Feng was dumbfounded to see the yellow ox standing on its hind legs, waving its front hooves; it was boxing!

The wind roared, and thunder rumbled, all emanating from its body. Was this a form of martial arts?

A cow doing martial arts!"
