Chapter 1 - "we've met before"?

K"Mama, forgive me, but I have to go now. It's my first day at university, and if I'm late today, I'll end up being late all year."

"Honey, hurry up, nothing will happen."

"No, Mom, I'm full now."

"Jay, don't go on an empty stomach; you'll feel unwell."

"No, Mom, I'm fine. Bye, love you!"

"B-But… okay, bye!"

"Ahh, this girl never listens!"

I rushed out the door, glancing at my watch. Oh no! It's already 9 o'clock; I'm going to be late! I ran as fast as I could, dodging people in my way, when suddenly—

BAM!

I collided with someone, and all my belongings slipped from my hands, scattering onto the ground.

"Oh, no," I muttered, quickly bending down to pick them up. As I gathered my things, I started to apologize, "S-Sor— huh?"

A strange feeling washed over me. I've seen him somewhere before… Brown hair, big eyes, veined hands—why did he look so familiar?

Just then, the sky seemed to still for a moment, as if fate had struck. The weather shifted slightly, and for a brief second, I felt… off. Like something in the universe had glitched. Everything blurred, just enough to make it hard to see clearly.

"Are you okay?" the boy asked.

"Y-Yeah…" I replied absentmindedly, still staring at him. But before I could dwell on it further, I looked at my watch and panicked. "Oh no! I'm super late!"

I rushed to the university, barely making it to my section—Section E. I threw myself into a seat, catching my breath. "I was doomed today! What if the class had already started?"

The girl sitting next to me turned with a curious smile. "Are you a new student?"

"Yes," I replied.

"Hi, I'm Sophie," she introduced herself.

"I'm Jay Jay," I said, still trying to calm down.

"Nice to meet you, Jay," she said warmly.

"Same here nice to meet you too," I replied.

Since the professor hadn't arrived yet, I turned to look outside the window. My eyes wandered to the university gate, and suddenly, fate struck again.

A strange glitch flickered through my mind—blurry, distorted, like fragments of a memory I couldn't grasp. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't remember anything.

I sighed, rubbing my temples. I need to take some medicine… Maybe I didn't get enough sleep. I need to sleep when i go back to the home. Mom is right i need to eat breakfast properly. Ahh my head is hitting me so bad .

"Jay… Jayyy!"

"Huh?" I snapped out of my thoughts.

"What happened?" Sophie asked, frowning. "You've been zoning out. What are you thinking about?"

"U-Ugh… nothing, Sophie. I just need more sleep," I muttered.

Before she could ask more, the professor entered.

"Alright, everyone, settle down," he announced. "We have a new student joining us today, just like the rest of you—Kiefer."

My eyes widened. Wait… that's the same guy!

As if sensing my gaze, he turned his head slightly, but his expression remained unreadable.

"Kiefer, take a seat," the professor instructed.

I sat frozen in place, my heart pounding. "Is this just a coincidence… or something more?"

I tried to shake off the uneasy feeling, convincing myself it was nothing. But just as the class was about to begin, everything flickered for a split second—a strange blur, like a distorted image struggling to load. My vision wavered, my breath caught in my throat.

I was seeing keifer strangely "why does it feel like we've met before?

Why does he look so familiar ?

Just then, the professor asked Kiefer a question. He nodded slightly before answering in a calm, steady voice,

"Some things are meant to return, no matter how much time has passed."

I suddenly look at him The moment he said those words, a sharp glitch hit me.

Flashes of something—someone—his voice, that exact sentence… but from when? From where?

"Oh my head throbbed as the images flickered like a broken screen, too fast to grasp, too distant to recall. I gasped, gripping the edge of my desk"

"Jay?!" Sophie's voice pulled me back.

Y-yes I blinked rapidly. The classroom was normal. Kiefer was back to taking notes like nothing had happened.

"But I knew I had heard those words before." Jay jay said

Somewhere. Somewhen

But where ?? When ??? Ohh my headache god!!!

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. "Stop it, Jay. You're just overthinking."

But the strange feeling still sat heavy in my chest. Where had I heard that line before? Why did Kiefer's voice sound so familiar?

I glanced at him. He was writing something in his notebook, looking completely focused on class. But just as my eyes landed on him, he looked up too.

For two whole seconds, neither of us moved. Kiefer's gaze held mine—calm, unreadable, as if he was thinking the same thing.

Then, for a brief moment, his lips parted slightly, as if he was about to say something. But only one word came out:

"Are you okay?"

And just like that, fate hitting me

That simple line felt eerily familiar, like déjà vu. For a split second, I could have sworn this had happened before.

I quickly lowered my head, forcing myself to focus on my books. No, this is just a coincidence.

But deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that this had all happened before.

But just as I convinced myself of that, Kiefer spoke again—low, almost like a whisper, but clear enough to send chills down my spine.

"It's happening again, isn't it?"

My breath caught in my throat.

I turned to look at him, my heartbeat loud in my ears. "W-What did you just say?"**

Kiefer didn't answer. Instead, he just looked at me for a moment—his expression unreadable—before shifting his gaze back to his notebook like he hadn't just said something that shattered my reality.

Again?

What did he mean by again?

And why did it feel like, deep inside, I already knew the answer?
