"Fuck… my head hurts…" Kael muttered as he regained consciousness.
"Kael… Kael… Kael…" He could hear his name faintly and squinted his eyes to see the person.
"Leonhardt…" he muttered. "Yes, he assisted me with those people."
"Thank you," he blurted out. Then, with Leonhardt's assistance, he tried to stand up but fell right back into his arms.
"You can't walk," Leonhardt said plainly as he held onto his hands.
"I can actually walk if I try," Kael said stubbornly. His legs ached badly, his eyes barely seeing, but he just didn't want to give in to Leon and be assisted. He didn't want to show weakness.
Kael removed Leonhardt's hands from him and tried to walk, but as he took one step, he suddenly lost his footing and nearly collided with the hard floor until Leonhardt caught him.
"This won't do," Leonhardt said, and before Kael could process what was happening, Leonhardt picked him up bridal-style.
