Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Future Ahead

Oliver sat in the quiet corner of the academy, flipping through old training scrolls, barely acknowledging the passing of time. Two years had flown by, and for the first time since he arrived in Konoha, he felt… restless. There was little left to learn here. He had mastered the basics, honed his skills, and surpassed most of his classmates in both theory and practical training. His name had become synonymous with top-tier ability in the academy, but the truth was, he was stagnating.

He had learned everything the academy had to offer. The basic jutsu, weapon techniques, and even strategic lessons. But it wasn't enough. Not anymore. He was ready to graduate. Ready to move on to the next stage of his journey.

As if on cue, the door to the academy creaked open, and a pair of ANBU members stepped inside, their faces hidden behind their animal masks.

"Oliver Queen," one of them said, his voice cold and authoritative, "the Hokage wishes to speak with you."

Oliver didn't flinch. He had expected this. The Hokage, despite his kindness and wisdom, was always wary of outsiders. Oliver knew that his growing abilities had caught the attention of Konoha's leadership, and the ANBU were always watching.

"Lead the way," Oliver said, standing up from his seat.

The two ANBU members nodded, turning on their heels. Without a word, they led him through the village, their silent steps echoing as they crossed familiar paths. They arrived at the Hokage's office soon enough, the towering building looming over the village like a silent sentinel.

Inside, the Hokage sat behind his desk, a calm expression on his face as he looked up at Oliver.

"Ah, Oliver. Please, have a seat," the Hokage said with a warm smile, though there was a hint of concern in his eyes.

Oliver walked over to the chair and sat down, folding his hands in his lap.

"I've been keeping an eye on you," the Hokage began, his voice steady. "You've grown quickly, far faster than most Genin I've seen. You're ready for more than the academy can offer. But… there's something I need to know."

The Hokage paused, his gaze sharpening.

"What are your plans for the future?" he asked. "What is it that you want from Konoha, and what do you intend to do with your talents?"

Oliver thought for a moment. It wasn't an easy question. He had spent so much time focused on improving, on becoming the best, that he hadn't given much thought to what came next. But now, with the Hokage's question hanging in the air, he couldn't ignore it any longer.

"I'm here to prove that I belong," Oliver said, his voice calm but firm. "Not just as a warrior, but as someone who has something to offer. My skills, my abilities—they were honed through necessity. But now, I want to find a purpose. I want to protect the things that matter, and the people I've come to care for."

The Hokage nodded thoughtfully. "A noble goal," he said, his eyes softening. "And what about the Anbu? Have you given any thought to their offer?"

Oliver didn't answer immediately, his mind racing. He had heard whispers about the Anbu, their secretive nature, and the dangerous missions they took on. He wasn't sure if he was ready to dive into such a life, but it was an option.

"I'll think about it," Oliver replied carefully. "But I want to be sure I'm ready for whatever path I choose. I'm not afraid of hard work, but I won't rush into something unless I know it's right."

The Hokage's smile returned, more genuine this time. "Wise words, Oliver. We'll give you time to decide. But know this—you've already earned the respect of the village, and whatever path you choose, you'll have allies here."

Oliver's Skill Set and Strength at Mid-Chunin Level

After two years of relentless training, Oliver had developed a unique and diverse skill set. Though he hadn't been tested in actual combat as much as many of his peers, his training and abilities had set him apart from others his age. Here is a breakdown of his skill set and his strength at the mid-Chunin level:

Ninjutsu:

• Chakra Control:

Oliver's chakra control was exceptional for his age, bordering on the level of a Chunin. He could manipulate chakra with precision, allowing him to use jutsu with minimal chakra consumption, and his control was crucial in more advanced techniques.

• Academy Jutsu Mastery:

Oliver had mastered the three basic jutsu (Clone Jutsu, Substitution Jutsu, and Transformation Jutsu) at the highest level, being able to perform them under pressure or in the heat of battle without hesitation.

• Chakra Enhanced Arrows:

A technique he had developed with his deep understanding of archery, Oliver could infuse chakra into arrows to enhance their speed, impact, or even give them elemental properties. His arrows were nearly as fast as kunai, and he could fire them with deadly accuracy.

• Fūinjutsu:

Oliver had made considerable progress in learning sealing techniques. He had unlocked the basics, such as Basic Seals for traps, containment, and enhancements, and he had started experimenting with dynamic seals to enhance his weapons and chakra-based attacks.

Taijutsu:

• Tonfa Combat:

Trained in the art of tonfa by Tetsuo, Oliver could use these weapons effectively both in close-quarter combat and as a tool to defend against projectiles like kunai. His combat style was fast, precise, and highly effective against both armed and unarmed opponents.

• Hand-to-Hand Combat:

Under the tutelage of Might Guy, Oliver had developed a solid understanding of Taijutsu. While not as strong as Guy or Lee, Oliver's strength was on par with the average Chunin. He was fast, resilient, and capable of landing powerful blows with precise timing and skill.

• Strategy and Timing:

Oliver's greatest strength in Taijutsu lay in his strategic thinking and adaptability. He could analyze his opponent's movements and plan his attacks accordingly, making up for his lack of raw power with tactical genius.

Weaponry:

• Longbow Expertise:

Oliver was a master archer, capable of shooting arrows with precision and speed comparable to kunai. His skills were further enhanced with chakra-infused arrows, allowing him to adapt to different battle situations.

• Versatility with Blades and Other Weapons:

While his primary weapon remained the bow, Oliver had learned to use various weapons, including kunai, shuriken, and his tonfa. He could adapt to any weapon he was given, making him a highly versatile fighter.

Physical Abilities:

• Strength:

At mid-Chunin level, Oliver's strength was above average. His training with Guy had enhanced his overall physical conditioning, giving him a body capable of performing powerful physical feats. His tonfa skills allowed him to deliver devastating strikes.

• Speed and Agility:

Oliver's speed had reached the level of a top-tier Genin, and his agility was even higher. He could easily dodge attacks from faster opponents, and his reflexes were sharp enough to make quick decisions in combat.

• Endurance:

Through years of training and combat, Oliver had developed tremendous stamina. He could engage in extended battles and sustain his energy levels longer than most Chunin.

Mental Strength:

• Intelligence and Tactical Thinking:

Oliver's ability to read people and situations allowed him to outthink and outmaneuver his enemies. He was a brilliant strategist, and his time spent in the academy had enhanced his ability to plan battles and counter enemy tactics.

• Willpower:

Despite his past struggles, Oliver's mental fortitude was solid. He had learned to push through pain, exhaustion, and self-doubt. His willpower to protect his friends and prove himself was a driving force in his development.
