Two years had passed since Oliver first arrived in Konoha. Two years of grueling training, constant challenges, and quiet struggles. But even in the midst of it all, he had carved out something resembling a life for himself.
It wasn't easy. The village still distrusted him. Some shopkeepers refused to sell him food. Civilians whispered about him when they thought he couldn't hear.
But Oliver didn't need their acceptance. He had his own circle, his own people.
And that was enough.
Morning Routine
Oliver's days always started before sunrise.
At the crack of dawn, he was already up, moving through his morning exercises—push-ups, sit-ups, and a brutal regimen of tonfa drills that Tetsuo had drilled into him. His speed and power had increased dramatically, and his ability to deflect kunai and block sword strikes had reached near mastery.
Then came his archery practice.
Deep in the forest, away from prying eyes, Oliver would train with his longbow. Shooting from moving positions, through obstacles, and even blind shots based on sound and intuition.
Most ninjas dismissed archery as impractical, but Oliver knew better. With the right chakra-infused arrows and precision, it was a weapon just as deadly as any jutsu.
Academy & Friends
Despite being the top student, Oliver never flaunted it. He had nothing to prove to the others.
But he wasn't alone. Over the past two years, he had built true friendships with three people:
Rock Lee
• Oliver's first and closest friend.
• They bonded over training, pushing each other to their absolute limits.
• Lee's energy and optimism balanced Oliver's calm and strategic mindset.
• Despite their differences, they had one rule: Never hold back against each other.
Tenten
• The weapons specialist who had become his sparring partner in tonfa and ranged combat.
• She respected his skills and helped him refine his weapons techniques.
• In return, Oliver taught her advanced movement techniques he had developed.
Hinata Hyūga
• At first, she was shy around him, but Oliver's patience helped them grow closer.
• He saw her potential and often trained her in confidence and strategic thinking.
• She, in turn, taught him better chakra control, something he desperately needed.
The three of them were the only ones who truly saw Oliver—not as an outsider, but as one of them.
New Friend: Shikamaru Nara
Over time, Oliver found himself occasionally talking with Shikamaru, the lazy but brilliant strategist of the Academy.
At first, they had no reason to interact—Shikamaru hated effort, and Oliver was constantly pushing himself. But one day, during a tactical exercise, they were forced to work together.
Shikamaru's mind + Oliver's execution = Unstoppable teamwork.
After that, they began to play shogi together. Shikamaru usually won, but Oliver's ability to read people and predict behavior kept the games interesting.
"You think too much like a warrior," Shikamaru had once said. "Sometimes, the best move isn't the strongest—it's the one they never see coming."
Oliver took that advice to heart.
Cooking & Survival
With so many shops refusing to sell him food, Oliver had been forced to become a master of self-sufficiency.
• He hunted his own food, using his bow to catch fish and small game.
• He learned to cook simple but nutritious meals, often sharing them with Lee, Tenten, and Hinata.
• He even experimented with herbs and spices, improving his cooking skills over time.
It wasn't much, but it was enough to get by.
And in a way, it made him stronger.
Nighttime Training
When the village slept, Oliver trained.
He worked on fūinjutsu, expanding his knowledge of sealing techniques. He had found an old, incomplete taijutsu manual in the library and was trying to adapt its moves into his own fighting style.
His chakra control had become far superior.
His Clone, Substitution, and Transformation Jutsu—once basic skills—had become master-level techniques.
And every night, as he looked over the village from the rooftops, he reminded himself—
He was not like them.
He was something more.
