August 9th, 2010: Metropolis
As I woke up and left the bed, I did not see Marcy anywhere. It seemed like she had woken up before me. I also saw a suit and tie already ironed out hanging for me, how dutiful. I will make sure to reward her extra tonight. As I got dressed, I decided I needed to make a road up for some short-term goals.
I decided the first order of business on the path of becoming the best version of Lex Luthor was to shape up this body of mine. Looking through his memories, this version of Lex Luthor believed that the mind was greatly superior to the body and that people who worked out all the time were just compensating for their lack of intellect. Although this thought process was greatly flawed. One of my favorite words to live by came from one of my favorite anime and it was, "A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body." That meant I had to work on all three aspects if I wanted to improve or else I would end up like the Jesse Eisenberg version of Lex Luthor.
So with my billions of dollars, I decided to hire the best Judo coach, Muy Thai Coach, and the coach of the current Mister Olympia to personally train me to get stronger. In the grand scheme of things with metahumans and Gods in the DC universe, learning Judo and Muay Thai might seem inconsequential, however close combat experience was crucial, and basic combat experience can go a long way in this world as evident by the members of the bat family and many other heroes. I would love to learn from the likes of legendary masters such as Batman and Lady Shiva, but as of right now, there is no way of contacting them. So learning from normal people who have mastered their craft was the next best thing.
The reason why I chose judo, muay Thai, and boxing was that I decided I needed to level up my stand-up game and really master these three martial arts. In my previous world, I trained in an MMA gym for 10 years and went to state for wrestling in high school. I was even debating in training to get into the UFC but injured my Achilles tendon and wrist so that dream was gone. So, I know that jiu-jitsu is a great martial art, but I could not picture being on side control when surrounded by multiple opponents which happens a lot in DC and Marvel comics, or trying to put Doomsday in a triangle choke. With the combination of judo and muay thai with my mastery in wrestling and experience in MMA, it would make me quite the force to be reckoned with against another trained fighter who was not enhanced.
Though, that is if they get close to me. I was not yet superhuman and no matter how much exercise and training I received; it would not do much against opponents that had strange abilities like metahumans and practitioners of magic or people that outright outclassed me in combat skill. I planned to fight my opponents using the technology I have created. Until I could safely recreate the super soldier serum, I would most likely fight long distance, and even then, I would still hesitate going toe to toe against people like Dr. Phosphorus, Atrocitus, and Black Adam.
With that decision made, I instructed Marcy, "I want you to get in contact with the best Muay Thai instructor in Thailand and the best judoka instructor in Japan. Oh, also I want you to contact Henry Rambo, the trainer of the previous Mr. Olympia".
"Okay sir will do, may I ask why you want to contact these three people", Marcy asked questioningly
I looked at her puzzled and responded, "To train me of course, why else would I ask you to contact them?"
"Of course, sir it just seemed out of character is all, you never seemed interested in working out or learning to fight before."
I mentally smacked my head, of course, this version of Lex Luthor, while incredibly gifted and with a genius level of intellect, lacked any desire to get stronger.
"What can I say, a change of heart now that I own all of Lex Corp."
