Chapter 24 - Mr. Shen Qin, Are You Here To Tease Me?

"No, no! Sorry, I have something else to do."

Shen Qin hurriedly left. Watching his retreating figure, Lisa muttered wistfully, "Am I really that scary? I was planning to give you a little reward."

Next to the proposal lay a small note that read:

「 Latest Intel! Shen Qin has agreed to design a custom ordering system for Sara and her Hunter's Feast restaurant. — Kaeya 」

"Oh my, it seems the little darling still pays more attention to me..."

Kaeya: Hehe!

Shen Qin, unaware that he had narrowly escaped trouble, felt much lighter after handing over the proposal. At least now, there was no "witch" lurking behind him, eyeing him like prey.

"Ah!"

Shen Qin pushed open the alchemy workshop door and was startled by Klee's sudden appearance.

"Haha! Shen got scared by Klee!" Klee stuck out her tongue and made a silly face.

"Klee, you're going to give me a heart attack someday." Shen Qin rubbed her head and picked up several terminals from the workbench. "Have you had breakfast? If not, let's grab something to eat at Good Hunter."

"Not yet! Kaeya said I can have you treat me to big meals from now on because you're a 'big spender'! What's a big spender?"

"If someone is very wealthy, they can be called a big spender."

"Klee has lots of money too! So, is Klee a big spender?"

"Yes, but big spenders have to treat others to meals."

"Then Klee will treat Shen Qin to breakfast!"

"Alright, thank you, Klee." (T/N: Wow, just wow Broski Shen)

Passing the same spot as yesterday, Shen Qin noticed Glory sitting on the bench, softly humming a tune.

He stopped in front of her, and she seemed to sense his presence, asking gently, "Hello, is someone there?"

"Glory, guess who I am?" Klee playfully ran circles around the bench.

"Hehe," Glory chuckled, covering her mouth. "I'd guess... little Robert?"

"Impossible! Robert is a boy. I'm a girl!"

"Then... Julia?"

"Nope, wrong again!"

Glory guessed several names, but none were right. Klee grew anxious.

"Glory, did you forget my name?" Klee stomped her feet in frustration.

"Alright, alright, I'm just teasing. I knew it was little Klee all along."

"Eh? Was I so easy to recognize?"

Watching their interaction, Shen Qin couldn't help but smile. He greeted, "Hello, Ms. Glory."

"Ah? And you are...?" She finally noticed someone else was present.

"He's Shen, Klee's good friend!"

"Hello, I'm Glory. I'm sorry I didn't notice you earlier—my blindness makes it hard for me to be aware of others." She clasped her hands together and bowed slightly in apology. "But are you the champion of the gliding competition, by any chance?"

"Yes, that's me."

"Incredible!" Glory exclaimed sincerely, then asked curiously, "Why are you looking for me?"

She couldn't think of a reason why he'd seek out a blind person like her.

"I was wondering... was your blindness something you were born with?"

"..."

Glory found the question a bit rude but didn't detect malice in his tone. She eventually replied, "No, I was just like other kids until an accident when I was six. Afterward, my sight gradually faded. Later, I decided to cover my eyes with cloth so others wouldn't feel uncomfortable when talking to me."

Shen Qin sighed softly and continued, "Can you still perceive light now?"

Glory frowned slightly but answered, "Only faintly during the daytime."

She then said with slight irritation, "Mr. Shen Qin, are you asking out of curiosity, or are you here to tease me?"

"Uh... I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Ms. Glory, we have other matters to attend to, so we'll be leaving now. See you next time." Shen Qin scratched his head and quickly walked away.

"Goodbye, Sister Glory!" Klee waved earnestly.

Glory sat quietly on the bench, her frown gradually softening. Ever since she had begun covering her eyes, few people had mentioned them. Shen Qin was the first to continue asking questions despite knowing she was blind.

At first, she found it uncomfortable, but upon reflection, she realized he hadn't meant any harm—perhaps it was mere curiosity.

He didn't seem to treat her blindness as a flaw that needed to be avoided.

It was as if she had eaten Fisherman's Toast, while he had eaten Chicken-Mushroom Skewers. Afterward, he curiously asked her, "How does Fisherman's Toast taste? What's in it?"

The whimsical analogy amused Glory, lifting her spirits.

"From his voice, Mr. Shen Qin seems quite young. He's probably the renowned alchemist who invented the flying skateboard that everyone's talking about..."

After walking some distance, Klee asked curiously, "Brother Shen, did you mean to make Sister Glory mad?"

"No," Shen Qin replied seriously, "I was just trying to gather information to help her."

"Really? Klee doesn't get it."

Shen Qin chuckled, ruffling her hair as they entered Hunter's Feast.

"Ms. Sara, the ordering system is ready. Can you test it out?"

Sara looked at him in surprise. "Mr. Shen Qin! You finished it so quickly?"

"This was a simple task. Once we finish breakfast, I'll show you how to use it."

After breakfast, Shen Qin let Klee play in the restaurant while he explained the system to Sara.

He had built three terminals: one for the front desk, one for the kitchen, and a handheld one.

Sara could number each table in the system. When a customer placed an order and paid, she could enter it at the front desk or the handheld terminal. The order would be sent directly to the kitchen terminal.

Additionally, she could add specific notes for each dish, allowing the kitchen to customize preparations as requested.

The system tracked customer locations within the restaurant. Once a dish was ready, all terminals would display the table number for seamless service.

For payment, the system could scan a Mora bag's contents, simplifying transactions.

All orders and payments were recorded in the system, categorized by day, week, month, and year, making it easier for Sara to reconcile accounts.

"This is amazing! Its features are far more practical than I imagined!" Sara looked at Shen Qin with stars in her eyes, full of admiration.
