Chapter 113 - Chapter 113: Nightmare

Inside a small room, there were two strange creatures. The difference was that one was illusory and the other was real.

Professor Snape, who had been hiding aside, also stepped out. His eyes held a hidden hint of vigilance as he looked at the picture in the air.

The creature in the picture had a dragon-like head with sharp fangs and a long tail that kept lashing about, covered in sharp spines.

Its body was covered with fine black fur. Unless a creature met the conditions to observe it, it would be extremely difficult to spot.

It didn't look all that different from an ordinary Thestral. The only differences were in its wings and eyes.

The creature that Light had transformed into had no pupils or the whites of the eyes, only pitch-black eyes, and huge wings made of black mist that were large enough to envelop its body.

"So, this is what I look like. I think I'm kind of cool!" Looking at the 3D image in the air, Light expressed his satisfaction.

Seeing the long horse-like face showing a human-like look of satisfaction, Headmaster Dumbledore's eyes involuntarily twitched.

After thinking for a moment, he then asked, "Have you destroyed the creature you and Hagrid bred?"

Watching Headmaster Dumbledore talking to the air, even though he knew there was someone there, Professor Snape felt a strange feeling.

At this time, Light, who wanted to speak, suddenly found that he could only emit strange whinnies.

So, he spread his black wings to envelop himself and then transformed back into his human form.

He told Headmaster Dumbledore, "No, I plan to sterilize it later. So, there's no need to worry."

"What do you mean?" After hearing Light's words, Professor Snape, who had been absent-minded, frowned and asked a question.

Rarely seeing Professor Snape looking confused, Light was the first to speak and explain:

"This creature is too terrifying. Only creatures without Fear can see it, which means it has no natural enemies and can grow unchecked."

"Once they start to grow in number, the danger they bring will be even more terrifying than that of dragons."

After getting a hint, Professor Snape instantly understood. After pondering for a moment, he said, "Then what should we call this species that is about to go extinct?"

After a long silence, Light softly uttered the name he had thought about for a long time: "Nightmare!"

"Nightmare?"

Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor Snape glanced at each other and saw the confusion in each other's eyes. They didn't quite understand why it had been given this name.

But since the person involved had named it like this, they didn't say much.

After naming it, Light asked Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor Snape to test all the abilities of the Nightmare for him.

Headmaster Dumbledore readily agreed, while Professor Snape refused with a cold face.

Knowing why Professor Snape refused, Light didn't force him to help.

Just then, Professor Snape walked towards his office while Light thanked him with a beaming smile.

At the door, after watching Professor Snape leave, Light turned his gaze to Headmaster Dumbledore.

"Follow me!" Without saying much, he walked ahead to lead the way.

Headmaster Dumbledore, who was leading the way in front, took many turns inside the castle. Along the way, Light had to trot to keep up with his pace.

After the two had walked inside the castle for some time, Headmaster Dumbledore stopped in front of a classroom.

He took out the key, unlocked the door, and let Light enter the classroom first.

Entering the classroom, Light stood on the podium, curiously sizing up the decorations inside.

The desks and chairs were neatly arranged, and the classroom was spotless, as if it had been regularly cleaned.

After roughly looking around the classroom, Light turned to look at Headmaster Dumbledore beside the door. Just as he was about to say something...

He noticed that Dumbledore was looking at the classroom decorations with a nostalgic look in his eyes.

The question on the tip of Light's tongue remained unasked.

Not long after, Dumbledore withdrew his nostalgic gaze, looked at Light, and sighed, "This classroom used to be mine."

Not getting what this old man was up to, Light just looked at Dumbledore confusedly without responding.

"It's okay. Just a moment of sentiment. What were you going to ask me?" Dumbledore shook his head slightly and then asked.

Seeing Dumbledore change the topic, Light, who hadn't really cared in the first place, picked up the conversation:

"What I wanted to ask was, how can you, Professor, control your emotions at will?"

"Because I modified my memories related to that person. It's difficult and Painful."

As if having expected the question, Dumbledore replied to Light with a sad expression.

Even though Dumbledore's answer was vague, Light still caught the implication.

"Through my surveillance device, I deleted and modified the memories related to 'young Grindelwald' on my own."

"I transferred my Fear of him to someone else in my mind. Temporarily cut off the Nightmare's control over my Fear."

Knowing that the power he had worked hard to obtain hadn't become obsolete, Light felt a little relieved.

Before Light could relax for long, Dumbledore seriously warned him not to abuse this power.

Seeing Dumbledore's never - before - seen serious expression, Light quickly assured him that he wouldn't abuse it.

He was almost swearing to the sky, though he wasn't sure if Westerners believed in that kind of stuff.

Seeing Light's determined expression, Dumbledore also felt a bit more at ease.

After getting Light's guarantee, Dumbledore turned around, faced the desks and chairs below, and waved his right hand.

All the things in the classroom floated up and turned into various decorations hanging on the surrounding walls, clearing a space.

After finishing all this, Dumbledore signaled Light with his eyes to start the performance.

Slowly walking to the middle of the classroom, black mist billowed out, leaving only a Nightmare in place.

Dumbledore took out his wand after a long time and walked towards Light with a smile on his face.

Seeing Dumbledore, who clearly meant no good, Light unconsciously took a few steps back.

"Good. Let's test your close - combat ability first, then the Nightmare's special abilities, and finally its enhancement for you."

"So, be careful!" After saying that, Dumbledore waved his wand and shot out a Spell.

The Spell came so suddenly that Light didn't have time to react, but the Nightmare's body moved on its own.

It spread its pitch - black wings and flapped them, deflecting the incoming Spell and blasting a hole in the nearby wall.

Looking at the blown - open hole, Light exclaimed, "Is this Alohomora? The unlocking Spell is so powerful."

Suddenly, Light came to his senses. Looking at Headmaster Dumbledore, who didn't continue to attack, a thought flashed through his mind. "He'll cast Incendio in a moment."

Then, his body moved on its own. He leaped into the air, and his wings flapped, creating a powerful hurricane.

As soon as the flames gushed from the wand, they were suppressed by the hurricane Light fanned.

"Reading the battle moves, that's sick!" Light, flapping his wings in the air, also realized it.

At this moment, the suppressed flames went out instantly, and a thought came to Light's mind:

"Next, it's time to test your ability to withstand blows and your movement speed. So try your best to dodge!"

Then, a red beam broke through the fanned hurricane and blasted Light out of the sky.

Facing Light's confused look, Headmaster Dumbledore's resounding voice spread throughout the classroom: "Don't blindly trust any power. It might deceive you."

As soon as the words fell, another beam shot over, blasting Light away.
