Chapter 6 - The First Ordeal

Darkness..... that was all Seth could see.....

No! He wasn't even sure if he could see at all.

He could hear nothing. And he could feel nothing.

It was as though he was floating in the endless void.

'What happened to me?' Seth's mind wondered in fright. The last thing he remembered doing was slamming his seed on the table in anger and immediately after that, his mind went blank.

Just as his mind was still trying to comprehend what was happening, his senses were suddenly assaulted with a soul-piercing pain.

He wanted to scream, but sadly he had no mouth, the pain kept increasing until Seth's mind shut down and he passed out.

After some unknown periods, he finally regained consciousness, but this time he could see. He seemed to be lying on his back as he could see the clear blue sky.

This puzzled him, as he was pretty sure that he was at home before he was transported into that strange void and now all of a sudden he was outside in the middle of nowhere for all he knew.

He tried standing up but though he could feel his body it was so weak his attempt to move only resulted in a slight twitch of his fingers.

Just when he wanted to try moving his head he noticed something wrong with his sight, it was as though he was looking at the world through a camera, from the slight white outlining at the edges of his vision to the red blinking dot at the upper edge, funny enough under the blinking dot was the word "Rec" and parallel to this to was a outlining showing a battery percentage.

'i-it couldn't be right?' Seth started panicking, after all his inability to move to his visual interface all pointed to the fact that he might have just transformed into a camera.

Seth mustered all his strength and lifted his arms it wasn't until he saw his arm in front of him did he calmed down.

But now he was confused, why was his arm so….. white? He wanted to examine the arm more but he felt too weak, his arms fell straight to his chest, now even the fatigue of his body was encroaching on his mind, but slowly as he was losing consciousness, he heard a voice in his head.

[Ordeal has started, host has been transported to the past]

[ Details are as goes; Humans a dominant species of the earth with 1.6 billion years of history, have encountered the 105th calamity, and the Host has been chosen, you are to acquire ancient human knowledge of empowerment from this era, one of the humanities lost knowledge's, in other to help humanity survive the 105th calamity]

[For your first ordeal, you have been bestowed the ability 'cameraman's stealth']

[Good luck Host!]

'w-what' was the only thought Seth could muster before he passed out once more.

---Few minutes later---

"huh, who's that?" a young feminine voice rang out.

They were two ladies to exact, one covered in a veil, she wore a colorful dress designed in the same style as ancient China's Daoist robes, with jet black hair cascading down her back, though her robes weren't tight they still showcased her voluptuous body, her jade green eyes the only thing visible through her veil rested their gaze on a body of an unconscious disheveled young man, who barely had any clothing on.

As for the other lady behind her she was just a guard, as she was dressed in an all-black martial arts attire, wearing a ninja mask only revealing her hazel brown eyes, which gazed warily at the unconscious body.

"I don't know young miss..... but I don't think we should get involved" she replied warily.

"he is clearly a mortal, what could he be doing here in the thousand demon forest?" the young miss tilted her head in confusion.

All mortals knew better than to stray into the ten thousand demon forest, clearly for this man to be here he must had been forced by circumstances to wander into this place which would guarantee his death.

After a brief moment of contemplation, the young miss commanded. "let's take him with us, give him the life pill, so that at least he won't die, when we get back to the sect we will see if the heavenly physician can help him"

"but miss-" Before the guard could finish her statement she saw the bone-chilling gaze of the young mistress, she knew immediately that this was a command, and questioning it might lead to death.

Though reluctant she took out a blue glowing pill from her pouch, as she crouched, and fed it to the unconscious man, gritting her teeth she carried the young man over her shoulder, and then she and the young miss proceeded on their way, disgruntled the lady guard cursed under her breath "lucky bastard".

What followed next if Seth was awake he would have immediately been shocked, as the two ladies hopped onto a floating sword and began to fly out of the dense foliage of the forest.

The two flew pretty quickly until they arrived at a cliff. They both plunged down the cliff, and a beautiful wonderland came into view. It was a humongous temple built in the ancient Chinese style. That wasn't all; it was surrounded by a floating river that glowed florescent green. It shone brilliantly under the sun, adding a mystical air to the ancient temple.

Arriving in front of the river the young miss performed some hand seals, following which the levitating river parted letting them pass through.

In front of the temple gates, some elders were already standing in place awaiting the young miss, and when she arrived.

They all bowed in greeting in unison "Greetings divine daughter!". To which she responded with a light nod.

They escorted her through the gates into the sect.

Within the sect, countless martial practitioners could be seen in training, but when they saw the young miss, they all stopped what they were doing and bowed in greeting, staying in that position until she was out of sight.

Entering the main hall of the temple she instructed her guard "Take the mortal to the heavenly physician, after he's been treated check his aptitude, if he has some talent for cultivation he shall join our sect as an outer disciple, but if he doesn't let him join the working disciples".

"As you command divine daughter" then the guard parted from them, going through another passage.
