After spending some time recovering and completing a few missions with Ricardo, Leon finally decides to embark on a short journey to train and improve his magical abilities. He bids farewell to Ricardo, who simply smirks and says, "Try not to burn down a forest while you're at it."
Leon scoffs. "Please, I'm a professional."
Ricardo raises an eyebrow. "Uh-huh… Sure."
With that, Leon sets off to find Scott, the eccentric mage who had agreed to train him in exchange for silver coins.
Training with Scott
Leon finds Scott meditating under a large oak tree in a secluded clearing outside town. The blue-haired mage opens one eye lazily as Leon approaches.
"You're late," Scott says, yawning.
Leon frowns. "We didn't even set a time!"
Scott shrugs. "That's no excuse."
Ignoring the sorcerer's strange logic, Leon hands over the promised silver coins. Scott pockets them instantly and claps his hands. "Alright, let's begin. I'll teach you two new abilities: Lightning Strike and Invisibility. But first, a test of endurance!"
Leon crosses his arms. "Alright, what's the test?"
Scott grins mischievously. "Simple. Dodge."
Before Leon can react, a bolt of blue magic shoots from Scott's palm, narrowly missing Leon's head.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Leon yelps as he scrambles for cover.
Scott laughs. "Lesson one: Always expect an attack!"
The next few hours are filled with Leon running, dodging, and occasionally getting zapped. Scott takes a little too much pleasure in 'training' him, sending out random magic attacks while sipping tea like he's having the time of his life.
At one point, Leon finally manages to dodge gracefully—only to trip over a tree root and land face-first into a pile of leaves.
Scott applauds sarcastically. "Impressive. You dodged my attack but lost to nature itself. Truly remarkable."
Leon groans. "Shut up and teach me the spells already!"
Unlocking New Powers
After hours of relentless training (and a lot of suffering on Leon's part), he finally unlocks Lightning Strike, allowing him to summon a quick and powerful bolt of electricity. Scott watches as Leon tests it on a nearby boulder, successfully shattering it.
"Huh," Scott muses. "I expected you to miss and electrocute yourself. Pleasant surprise."
Leon glares. "Thanks for the confidence, coach."
Next, they move on to Invisibility, a skill that requires intense concentration. It takes Leon an entire day to get it right, and even when he does, his invisibility flickers awkwardly.
Scott sighs. "You look like a broken lantern. Try harder."
By the end of the fourth day, Leon finally masters both abilities, his level increasing to 25. He stands triumphantly, exhausted but proud.
Scott pats his shoulder. "Congratulations, kid. You survived. Barely."
Leon narrows his eyes. "One day, I'll be stronger than you."
Scott smirks. "Sure. Keep dreaming."
With that, Leon prepares to head back to town, eager to show Ricardo his progress—while also secretly hoping Scott never trains him like that again.
