After saying goodbye to each other, Emily took the bus to her parents' restaurant.
Business had been good recently and the guys working there were too busy to handle it.
When she got to the restaurant, they had just cleaned up the restaurant and were resting on the table.
Her mother was sitting at the bar, also dozing off. How can her body bear being so tired every day?
It was time to hire two more people.
Her mother woke up dazedly and saw Emily sitting in the restaurant. She rubbed her eyes and asked, "Why didn't you wake me up when you came?"
Emily smiled and replied, "Seeing you were sleeping so soundly, I didn't dare to disturb you."
Her mother laughed and said, "I've been too busy these past few days. I'm still a little uncomfortable with it!"
Emily walked around to the back of the bar and massaged her mother's shoulders. "Since you are too busy, why don't you hire two more people? This way, you and Dad can have more easier time."
Her mother was reluctant to spend the money, hesitated, and said, "I'll think about it."
"Mom, health is the capital of revolution! Taking good care of your health is the most important thing!" She continued to lobby, "Now that business is getting better and better, we are making more money than before, so hiring two more people shouldn't be a problem."
At this time, her father came back from shopping and said with a smile, "Your mother just doesn't want to spend money. She would rather tire herself out than spend money to hire someone. I told her this today, but she just doesn't want to."
"This is called saving money. Don't you know it's not easy to make money? What's the point of saving just a little amount of money?" Her mother rolled her eyes at the father and said unhappily.
Her father had always doted on her mother and never argued with her. Whatever she said was the final word.
Emily acted as a peacemaker between them and said, "Mom, Dad is also worried about your health. You two are not getting younger, so you should take care of your health. Health is wealth."
Her mother also knew this truth, but she just couldn't get around it for the time being. Emily knew that the restaurant business was not doing well some time ago, which left a shadow in her heart. That was why she valued money so much and wants to save more.
Emily and her father persuaded her mother for a long time before she agreed with them to post the recruitment information tomorrow.
At night, Emily stayed in the restaurant to help out. When there was not enough staff, she was responsible for delivering the takeout by bike.
This busy work lasted for three hours.
After all the customers had left the restaurant, her parents, the waiters in the shop and she herself were able to have a bite of food.
These days, she got home from the restaurant at around 11:30 every day.
Her mother cut some fruit and asked them to come and eat.
Now that they were still awake and less busy now, she wanted to tell them about going to Los Angeles.
"Mom, I want to go to Los Angeles for a few days after the restaurant finds more staff." Emily said while eating some fruits.
Her mother didn't object. She could understand the young people of today and thought that traveling could broaden their horizons, which was good.
"It's okay. Have you decided when to leave?" Although her mother supported her, she was still worried.
After all, New York was far away from Los Angeles! As a girl, she rarely went out, so it was normal for her mother to be worried.
"Not yet, but soon. Also, Miss Cameron's son is in Los Angeles and he is familiar with the place. So, it's nothing, don't worry." Emily said with a smile.
Her mother often heard her mention Miss Cameron, and when she heard that she was going with her son, she naturally felt relieved.
"But you must also pay attention to your safety." Her mother gave me a few more reminders.
"I know. I'm not a child anymore. Don't worry." Emily answered. It's me, Emily Sanders, I am too smart to be fooled.
After eating the fruit, Emily cleaned up the table and went back to her room.
Lying in bed, she suddenly thought of Quinn, the girl who wanted to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She still remembered the time when she failed the interview at Aurora Media, and she looked so lonely and frustrated.
As a good sister, she has to help this girl.
After thinking about it, she picked up her phone and called Jason Cameron.
"What a coincidence! I just arrived at the dressing room and your call came in." As soon as the call was connected, Jason's hearty laughter was heard.
Emily guessed he was still filming on the set right now. So she said politely. "Well, I hope I'm not disturbing your peace."
"It's okay, I'm just putting on makeup now. You can tell me whatever you have to say." Jason said in a friendly manner.
"It's nothing. I just want to ask if I can bring one more person with me when I come to L.A. I have a friend who really likes to work in the film and television industry, so I want to bring her over to have a look." She said truthfully.
"Is that so..." Jason hesitated for a while, and said, "Actually, you can bring her with you, but there is only one female No. 3, and your friend can only appear a few times in a minor role." After a pause, as if he remembered something, Jason continued, "Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you, I just talked to the director on the phone, if you want to play the role well, you will probably have to train in Los Angeles for half a month. Is this okay?"
Isn't it just training? Please, I have plenty of time. Emily nodded and said, "Of course, this is a good opportunity for us."
Being able to receive professional training was a blessing in disguise.
"Haha..." Jason laughed, "Okay, call me then."
After hanging up the phone, she quickly called Quinn to tell her the good news. But no answer.
She wondered where this girl had gone to. She called her several times, but no one answered.
She also tried to call Lucas, but no one answered.
Damn! Since the call was not connected, she ignored her and sent a text message to her phone and went to take a shower.
Twenty minutes later, she returned to the room.
She picked up her phone and took a look. She saw several missed calls from Quinn.
Couldn't hold back? She knew her friend wouldn't be uninterested!
Before she could call back, the phone started ringing again.
She swiped across the phone screen and answered the call.
"How is it?" Emily asked with a smile across the phone.
"What's going on, Emily? Can I really go to Los Angeles? Is there really a chance for me to appear on camera?" Quinn was extremely excited.
"Her beloved, do you think I would lie to you?" Emily said pretentiously.
"Silly girl, but tell me, where did such a good opportunity come from?" Quinn asked curiously.
Emily smiled and explained through the microphone, "Jason Cameron, son of Miss Cameron, recommended us for a play. Don't worry, I think this is reliable!"
Jason's character was trustworthy.
"That's great! Then when do we set off?" Quinn was a little impatient!
"I don't know yet, but it will be soon. Let's wait for Jason's call!" Emily responded.
Quinn understood, "Okay, I'll prepare during this time and wait for your call."
