Chapter 21 - chapter 20

I woke up, opening my eyes with tears dripping in my cheeks

Too bright, the sun's too bright, I sat up, noticing the curtain aside, letting the sunlight through the window

My head hurts.

I blink, it took me a second to realize I wasn't in my room, the walls are painted beige with patterns of gold and red, as if regal--

"..."

Am I at the palace?

I swing my legs on the side, standing up and walking to the window

So this is how the palace of Marfester looks like.. so serene, almost ethereal.

Then the door opened and I turned, a man with black hair with dyed blue tip on ends, golden eyes.

"Your highness."

I curtsied

He closes the door then stuffed his hands on his pocket, looking through my eyes as if seeing my soul, I can't say that didn't give a shiver on my spine, He won't notice either way.

"The Emperor asks, if there's anything you would want, as a token of forgiveness." He started

I could ask for Magic school, sword practice, more books, end our engagement, but this is my one chance, only one.

"Is it gonna be related to the Princess's forbidden magic?"

My eyebrows furrowed, my gaze on him

"Forbidden?"

"I've talked to my teacher, apparently even though individuals has magic, they can't be used unle--"

"Forbidden?"

I repeated my answer

"I'm trying to answer, princess."

"I'm not a princess,"

I replied, I never knew a man that I don't really care. Not even their opinions. Even who they are.

"... You're rude to your husband, princess." He added

"We're not wed yet, you're not in any position to tell me that I'm already yours as you are mine. We remain as just some.. well, companions."

"Betrothed, M'lady." He sighs in frustration

Was I speaking Kallisterian? I should really learn again, a high level mage, blah blah, titles, titles, is in front of me..

"You're not Reillana, are you?"

I paused, I swear I almost gave him a death glare, but I composed myself

"Why do you think that?"

"You never care."

" And what makes you think I do now?"

He took a deep breath before walking away in frustration
